Originally based in London and from a background in luxury travel, but with a love of skiing and the mountains, we moved to Saas Fee full time to enjoy the mountain air and escape the stresses of the big city.
Tamsin Hucklesby purchased this chalet in 2008
Sunniest and most tranquil area of the village with breathtaking views - families of chamois can often be seen roaming outside the chalet.
Boutique hotel design, luxury beds and linen, unrivalled views. L'Occitane toiletries, top notch Wifi throughout the chalet including bedrooms. Complimentary grocery pack and cleaning pack so you have essentials for your first night.
As a family of 6 with 4 children ranging from 3 years old to 15, Chalet Petit Mouton was a perfect base in the wonderful resort of Saas Fee. In a beautiful spot perched on the side of the mountain with amazing views, you are welcomed with a basket of goodies (wine for the adults, Haribos for the kids) and this sets the tone for your stay. The chalet manages to mix luxury standards with a cosy home feeling. All the rooms are a generous size with plenty of storage for ski clobber and great bathrooms with plenty of Occitaine products, to help you relax after a hard days ski. Despite being a family of six there was loads of room for the little ones to play and the teenagers to hide. The sitting room has a log fire to snuggle around and plenty of DVDs for a night in, if you’ve decided to take a night off from Saas Fee’s many great restaurants. The electric train takes you straight to the slopes which makes it easy with the little ones. Saas Fee also has plenty of shops and store rooms where you can leave your skis overnight right by the slopes, so no need to heft your skis around the resort. This was our second visit here and we would come again and again. Highly recommended.
We stayed for a week and we loved it!
Can't beat this chalet in Saas Fee. The location is ideal and is very close to the car park and shops but at the same time peaceful and tranquil. The Chalet is arranged over 3 floors with four good sized bedrooms and a lovely kitchen/dining area on the top floor. The chalet is perfectly clean, modern and contemporary and the owner ensures that guests are well cared for. Highly recommended. We will be back!!
We had an excellent stay. The petit mutton is a well build, modern chalet, proving space for a larger family. It is located in the part of Saas Fee receiving more sunshine. The bus stop is close providing fast transport to the ski-lifts.
We spent two weeks in Saas-Fee - welcomed by a sparkling clean Chalet, crisp white bed-linen and a welcome hamper from Tamsin. Let Petit Mouton is a wonderful Chalet, with plenty bedrooms and a large, light, open plan space to come together: We enjoyed the amazing views on the the balconies warming us on coffee in the mornings and many nights around the large table and in front of the wood burner after great days on the slopes. Tamsin has obviously spent love, thought and care to create this place - all of which makes the stay at Le Petit Mouton very, very enjoyable indeed!
Tamsin's chalet is very comfortable and well equipped. Beds are comfy, towels and linens are luxurious, showers are powerful and all conveniences are provided.
Tamsin was very helpful and provides lots of good local info.
The chalet is a little walk from the town (nonproblem without kids!) and well placed for buses.
Highly recommended.
Saas Fee is a beautiful, car free village situated at 1800m in the Valais region of Switzerland. It is surrounded by impressive mountain peaks and has an enviable snow record due to its glacier - offering year round skiing up to 3600m. Saas Fee has a wonderful, traditional character and offers 145km of ski pistes for all levels. It also has a superb and well maintained board park. For non-skiers Saas Fee has plenty to offer with tobogganing, ice-skating and winter mountain walking. There is also a modern sports centre with large swimming pool and several hotels offer daily wellness packages. There is an abundance of excellent restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets and a lively apres-ski scene. Geneva Airport is 230km away and there is an excellent train service from both Geneva and Zurich Airports to Visp which is connected to the resort with a very regular and punctual bus service.
