Great stay with fellow golfers!

  • 5 of 5

The Stables were perfect accommodations for our bucket list golf trip to Scotland with family and friends. Six guys had a very comfortable 3-night stay and easy booking with owner. The Stables were clean and convenient. Had a wonderful meal at Mercat Grill in Musselburgh our last night. Highly recommend!

Very comfortable

  • 5 of 5

An extremely well appointed house, not too far from a station with excellent access to central Edinburgh. Some delightful country in the area.

beautiful, comfortable, historic

  • 5 of 5

The Raitt Family did a wonderful job of restoring the historic stables to their current glory. It is a beautiful and specious home to stay in while visiting Scotland. The home had plenty of space for 9 of us to stay, filled with light, and had great outdoor space for our 1.5 year old to explore. Everything was clean and updated. We enjoyed staying a little further out from the bustle (and complicated streets) of Edinburgh. We had rented cars and were easily able to navigate the streets of the small down of Tranent (most of it was within walking distance, as well). It was a good location to drive into Edinburgh, and also to the coast to see North Berwick/Tantallon Castle. It is a short walk past the neighboring Tranent Parish Church to the Battle of Prestonpans viewing sight which tells the history of Tranent and the Church. It was so neat to stay in a historic home and our little one enjoyed walking around outside in the garden and patio looking for Duncan to visit him. We couldn't have asked for more!

Exceeded our expectations!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful, historic setting right next to a walking path. Spacious rooms with excellent beds and amazingly equipped kitchen. Great for groups, (we were a multi-generational family of 6) with lots of space to gather together or have alone time. We really appreciated the thoughtfulness and organization of the "binder of instructions" and guestbook with tips from previous guests. Catherine and Alistair were quick to answer any questions we had, we hope we will be back someday!

Beautiful, spacious house

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for my son's wedding in Feb 2017. The house was perfect for us, spacious, clean, comfortable, incredibly well equipped- ideal for a family group.

Catherine was there to welcome me and show me around. It was good to know they were close at hand though we had no reason to contact them.

Can't fault the house in anyway- helped make a special weekend even more enjoyable.

And I can't review the house without a special mention of Duncan the Great Dane- he is beautiful🐕

Thank you.
