This magnificent home has an open floor plan with warm, inviting decor and gorgeous views from the large sunlit great room. The pristine beach is a short walk away on the beach path next to the house, with no streets to cross.

The great room features a vaulted wood beam ceiling and a gas fireplace. Two French patio doors lead to a large new Trex deck with a patio table and chairs where you can enjoy the beautiful view with your morning coffee.

The dining area offers a big table and comfortable chairs. There is an exceptional kitchen with custom-built cabinets. Stainless steel appliances, wine fridge, granite counters, and a wet bar make meal preparation a breeze. It is well stocked for any chef. The upstairs laundry room provides a washer and dryer.

Three master suites (2 king, 1 queen) - each with access to spacious decks have various bathroom amenities such as a jetted tub and a walk-in shower with double shower heads. 4th Bedroom has twin beds and its own bath and deck. A second living area can be used as an office or fifth bedroom with a daybed and trundle.

Indoor entertainment is provided by TVs in every bedroom. There is a Playstation 4 console in the large living room and an XBox Console in the office/fifth bedroom.

Other amenities include 2 WIFI networks, a high chair & port-a-crib for the little ones.

Outside features include a private heated pool (a fee of $300/week to have heated), a hot/cold outdoor shower, a park style grill, and an outdoor sink with a fish cleaning station.

There are several bicycles, 2 beach carts, beach towels, and plenty of other beach gear in the storage room.

First Trip to St. George Island
This was our first trip to St. George Island. If you are looking for a very quiet, not many people vacation, St. George Island is your place. Two families stayed at this house. It is important to know that there are a lot of stairs. You enter on the ground and walk up two flights of stairs before you get to the first master and three other bedrooms. The office room with a trundle does pull out and does not have a bathroom attached to it. There is a half bath close to the office that anyone can quickly use who stays in that room. The two masters were perfect for each adult couple. On the top floor is the main living area and other Master Bedroom/Laundry. The house is a 5 min. walk on paths to the beach. The pool is amazing! Best part of this property! The outdoor shower is also awesome. The beach was often too windy or buggy to be at so we hung out at the pool a lot. This house is completely fine but could use some updates. We both walked and biked to the Clubhouse pool. It was a 10 min. drive to get into town. The house is located 4 miles into the Plantation neighborhood. The owner was responsive to any questions or concerns.

Fantastic beach house
We loved everything about as good as it gets. Quiet neighborhood with very little traffic, lovely bike paths everywhere so we rode everyday. Love biking so much that we rented three more bikes so we had 6 for all of us to ride together each day. Beach is an easy walk from ghe house with a flat path and no stairs. Very nice people we encountered on the beach but really it’s so quiet and few people on the beach that some day we had it to our selves. House had everything we needed. Had one minor issue and owner responded with a phone call within minutes. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic house
Beautiful and well-maintained house, especially spacious living room and kitchen area with large windows and a nice deck. Very easy access to the beach. Nice amenities on plantation (fitness room, tennis and pickleball courts). Owner was super-responsive and made everything a breeze.

50th Army Reunion
Four couples stayed at "As Good As It Gets" for 5 full days ,and we had a wonderful time. Each couple had a bedroom and bath with a porch off each room. After our morning exercise, we all hit the pool. Since the afternoons are still hot in September, we gathered at the dining room table and played games. The kitchen was well equipped. I appreciated having two coffee pots since I was the lone decaf drinker. The house could benefit from some maintenance. The bifold closet door in one bedroom came off the track. A hinge on one kitchen cabinet was coming loose. It also could use a deep cleaning. But, I would rent the house again as both the owner and the property management company were very responsive when called.

We live in Roswell, GA, a suburb of Atlanta. We visit our beach house about 3-4 times a year and regret leaving it each time we have to go back to our busy lives in the big city.

Why they chose this property

We first discovered the natural beauty and the pristine beaches of St George Island in 2011. We purchased our house in the Spring of 2013 - both of us had immediately agreed that "this one is for us" after only glancing at the pictures.

The Island offers a unique combination of uncrowded beaches, no high rises, great fishing, and an overall Old Florida feel that is becoming harder and harder to find.

We chose the Plantation for the added security of the 24-hour gated access, beautiful native vegetation, and park-like landscape maintenance. The Plantation also has special building restrictions and protective covenants to ensure very low building density. Having underground utility lines is a big plus as well.

Our house is one of the relatively newer ones built in the Plantation (2004), and up to the highest coastal construction standards. It has high grade Andersen windows and doors, a new Trex second level deck, custom kitchen cabinetry, new SS appliances. There is quality trim and finishes throughout.

We love our beach house and try our best to make sure that it is always in an excellent condition.

What makes this property unique

A beautiful, secluded white-sand beach for long walks, shelling, or just playing in the sand. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. An unbelievably clear night sky (when was the last time you saw the Milky Way in the city?). A private, heated pool and a hot tub for relaxing after a day at the beach.

The Plantation has a great new clubhouse with a three quarter Olympic size community swimming pool, shaded picnic area, and fitness room. Amenities also include three tennis courts, a privately owned/public use landing strip, and access to excellent fishing at Bob Sike's Cut. The are plenty of paved paths for bicyclists, jogging and walking enthusiasts.

St. George is close to historic Apalachicola, a quaint old town with art galleries, gift stores, restaurants, and the best oysters in the world.
