Sleeping 6 in 3 separate rooms (2 beds + further study with double sofa bed) and featuring premium Egyptian cotton bed linen and luxury towels as used in 5* hotels, this beautifully presented and recently refurbished apartment is set in arguably the best location in the resort directly on the front line looking out at fabulous and uninterrupted sea views from a 500sq ft landscaped garden with outdoor seating/dining area. Specialist lighting adds to the evening ambience. A separate covered terrace overlooks the national park mountains and sea.

The apartment is furnished to a very high standard with an L shaped leather sofa for relaxed and comfortable seating & is equipped with all mod cons such as free WIFI throughout the apartment, Music speakers, Playstation 3, HD TV, DVD player, AstraOne Satellite TV, KitchenAid N'Espresso coffee machine, washing machine, iron, hair dryer. The main bedroom, 3rd room and lounge/dining area all have sea views. The new and modern kitchen is of high quality & well equipped, including a dishwasher & N'Espresso coffee machine.

Almeria Area: The Cabo de Gata National Park is Andalucia's largest coastal protected area with some of Europe's most original geological features and stretches the coastline around Almeria with high craggy mountains, some fabulous unspoilt beaches, hidden coves and, for divers, extensive coral reefs teeming with marine life giving some of the best diving in Spain. Designated a UNESCO Biosphere reserve in 1997, the park shelters an extraordinary wealth of wildlife, including many rare and endemic plants and endangered fauna.

The historic town of Granada is just a couple of hours away. An absolute must is a visit to the astonishing UNESCO national heritage site, the Alhambra. Don't forget to stroll the winding streets of the Albaicin, the old Arabic quarter, at the foot of the Arabian palace.

There are plenty of local towns to visit, not least the old town, Mojacar Pueblo, set in the hills with its narrow cobbled streets, nice restaurants and Flamenco in the summer months in the main square.

Garrucha is also just a few kms away from Mojacar Playa, with its blue flag beaches and lovely port/harbour area. It remains an active fishing port and marina and is a seafood lovers delight.

Great location. Well maintained apartment.

We just returned from a 10 day holiday in this apartment, which is situated in a great location on a relatively quiet complex. The apartment is well maintained and air conditioned. As mentioned in the description, the sea views are uninterrupted. We experienced a bit of noise from the apartment above. This varied throughout the stay according to the tenants, but it didn't bother us too much. The complex is situated away from the busy Playa area of Mojacar and has a relatively quiet family vibe. The pools within the complex are great, particularly the infinity pool. The owner was extremely helpful, giving us tips and recommendations of where to eat in the local area.

Its a 15 min drive or so up to the Pueblo of Mojacar, from which the views of the surrounding area are stunning. There are miles and miles of beautiful beaches close by, ranging from really busy to completed isolated. All the beaches we visited were clean and some were outstanding. We would have no hesitation in visiting again. However, we would probably avoid July/August due to the heat. Having a young child, we needed to stay in the shade/apartment and seek out air-conditioned cafes etc for most of the day, venturing out onto the beaches after 5.30pm. The temperatures during our stay averaged 35C to 40C during the day. Apparently this was a particularly hot period, even by local standards.

There is a wealth of bars, cafes and restaurants locally, to suit every taste. The nearby town of Garrucha is a working fishing port and local restaurants offer fantastic fresh fish dishes.

We flew to Alicante airport and then drove to the apartment, which was around a 3 hour drive. There are a couple of other airports which are slightly closer, although we couldn't find the flights to fit from those airports.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and do hope to visit again. Thanks for a great stay!

Fantastic holiday, fab apartment, stunning views!

The Views from this apartment especially from the Master bedroom and the main living area are stunning. We slept with the shutters open just so we could wake up every morning to the sunrising over the ocean. The apartment was very well equipped for 6 and the kitchen had everything needed for eating in. (Usually fish on the bbq) My husband played the golf course and said it was 'heaven on earth'. The Friday Market at Garrucha was fantastic for fresh produce especially the cheese and olives.

We hired a car which I would say is essential.

The weather was absolutely beautiful perfect for our fair skin. We swam every day either in the pool or in the sea.

All in all a perfect holiday for the whole family and our batteries are well and truly recharged! We will definitely be returning!!

Excellent option for families

Nice appartment with the best sigthseeing in Playa Macenas.

The appartment is really complete with all you can need for a family of 6 people. Close to the beach you will not see any building between the coast and the flat.

The breeze is almost continue so you can sleep cool in the night and have breakfast, lunch or dinner in the garden.

The owner is really serious and will give you all the iformation and facilities for you can have a wonderful stay.

The back side is connected to the Beach Club and the beach through a sand path in 3 minutes walking.

Playa Macenas is the best touristic complex in Mojacar and perhaps in Cabo de Gata Coast: The place more sunny in Europe, nice beaches and good gastronomy will make you to have unforgetable vacations.

Playa Macenas sea view apartment

I thought this apartment was beautifully furnished, comfortable and one of the most perfectly situated on the entire complex. It has a balcony and interconnecting garden which stretches around the apartment on two sides and offers panoramic views of the ocean - just perfect for sundowners. A canopy provided shade on hot days and there was a barbeque and outside dining space.

The facilities on the complex included several swimming pools (one of which is located very close to the apartment), a pool club complex with shops and a restaurant / bar and also a golf course.

Locally, the beach front afforded many great restaurants and activities for all ages as well as a stunning beach.

I would definitely go back.

Beautiful apartment with sea view

This gorgeous apartment has got to be the finest in the whole Playa Macenas complex. The interior is spacious and has been finished to a very high standard and tastefully furnished. The enormous terrace extends around two sides of the apartment giving fabulous views of the beach and sea. One side of the terrace is more like a little garden with table and chairs for al fresco dining in the evenings and steamer chairs for catching the sun at any time of day. The other part of the terrace has a covered veranda ideal for breakfast, relaxing with a book or just admiring the view. The children were delighted by the 'communal' swimming pool right by the apartment which they mostly had all to themselves. The complex is very well run and friendly and the girls in the office are on hand for any help or advice. A car is essential if you want to explore the area, especially for excursions to the Cabo de Gata National Park and its fantastic uncommercialised beaches. We particularly enjoyed Aqua Amarga which is a 45 min drive down the coast. It is an unspoilt seaside village with a couple of great restaurants right on the beach...ideal if you have children. The old town of Mojacar is also worth a visit in the early evening, just to wander up through the old streets and take a few photos. Great views from here too. We all had an extremely enjoyable and relaxing week and would definitely go back again.

El apartamento es estupendo y el dueño de muy atento y pendiente de nosotros, pero las instalaciones no son prácticas ya que está llenas de escaleras , necesitas coche para todo , el precio por 6 dias es alto y no justificado.

Owner's Response: A medida que el complejo está situado en la ladera de la montaña que siempre habrá escaleras, pero todo se puede llegar con sólo unas pocas escaleras si lo desea. Un coche es necesario como se describe en la información como Mojácar Playa es muy larga, pero también hay taxis disponibles en la zona Los precios son consistentes con la zona y son mucho menores que teniendo un buen hotel para 4 personas. Como lo hubiera querido permanecer menos que el mínimo de 7 noches en la temporada alta, entonces le costará un poco más como una tarifa por noche.

Just a couple of kms out from the popular and busy seaside town of Mojacar there are an abundance of things to do. From the Moorish/Arabic mediaeval setting of the old town with its narrow winding streets high in the hills overlooking the sea and open air events such as traditional Flamenco dancing to the bustling seaside town along the beach front, with it's plentiful restaurants, bars and sandy beaches.

Available activities are numerous whether it is relaxing on the beach, golfing, walking in the Cabo de Gata natural park, fishing, diving, sailing or exploring the countryside on horseback you should not be short of options. Mojacar also has some of the best diving in Spain with some truly excellent dive sites.

For day trips out try the Tabernas Desert, the location set of many westerns, or visit Sorbas Caves that boast over 50km and 1000 underground limestone caves. Or explore the historic town of Granada a couple of hours away that takes in the UNESCO heritage site of Alhambra.

Ski: A little known fact but Mojacar is just a couple of hours away by car to the Sierra Nevada mountains where top quality skiing can be found in winter

This is the most southerly ski resort in Europe and it is quite small in comparison to other European resorts. However, the facilities are considered top rate and it has, therefore, hosted numerous national and international ski events.

Depending on the snow levels, the season generally runs from the end of November or the beginning of December until sometime in April.
