About the property

Three bedrooms and two bathrooms within the main house and guest studio

A beautiful typically Andalusian country house restored for modern living with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, living room, terraces and swimming pool.

The main house is composed of a living room with dining area with wood burning stove, fully fitted kitchen with American-style breakfast bar, large bathroom with double sinks and shower cubicle and two double bedrooms, one with double bed and the other with twin beds. Close to the pool area there is further accommodation of a bedroom with a double bed and another bathroom with shower cubicle.

There are many lovely terraces from where you can enjoy the fantastic mountain and seas views. The house is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards and the house in fact still maintains two drying beds for raisins, a practice which can still be seen in this area.

The whole property is completely private and not overlooked on any side. There is plenty of seating areas both close to the BBQ area and the pool area.

A deposit will be required on booking your holiday, payable by bank transfer.

Related to a possible cancellation, the quantity paid for the booking will be lost to amend possible profits and loss,

considering that the owner could lose the opportunity to rent it again.

About Antonio Cortés Bueno

Traditionally, Andalusian families, particularly families from the villa of Torrox, used to spend the winter or summer seasons in houses located in the countryside, normally known as "Cortijos", in order to gather olives or grapes between others fruits from the season. Consequently, almost each family in Torrox owned a house or "Cortijo" outside the village for this purpose. Our family has used this ancient tradition in Torrox in order to offer our customers a renewed version of "the Andalusian Cortijo" with the only aim of assuring your relax and enjoyment.

The first villa was built between the years 1985-1990, is the house that we called "Cortijo Del Monte". All the family contributed on building up the house, Mom, Dad and the kids, with the aim of enjoying weekends and holidays in the house... but only until the children grew up.

By chance, and coinciding with this time, a travel agent, who knew about our house, proposed us to rent the house; according to his opinion, the villa had all the optimal conditions to be offered as a house to rent. Consequently, we finally decided to rent it and since then our only goal is to offer the best service and comfort.

Afterwards, between the years 1998-2005, other villas were built up, as the ones called "Cortijo El Paraíso", "Cortijo Los Almendrales" and "Cortijo Del Sol". It is still a family business, Mom is responsible for cleaning inside the house and taking care of all the minimum details for keeping the charm inside home; on the other hand, Dad takes care of all exterior areas, as gardens, growing up trees and flowers, watering plants and cleaning and keeping the pool; and finally, the kids, that now are adults, particularly Carlos, is responsible for the design and diffusion of the villas in all the national and international websites.

Our only objective is to offer the best, so we do not scrimp on efforts or expenses to achieve that you finally enjoy the comfort, relax and charm of our villas.

Beautiful villa in a lovely quiet and peaceful location.

Cortijo del Sol is a lovely property in a stunning situation, with views of mountains and sea. Clean, comfortable and well-equipped, with outside spaces offering shade through the day, it is ideal if your perfect holiday consists of reading, crosswords, cooling off in the pool, and a bottle of wine in the evening. Antonio is also the ideal host, responding promptly to the smallest problem or enquiry.

If you like to dine out a lot, the property may be less suitable. There are good restaurants in Torrox Pueblo and in Competa, but the former is 20 minutes' drive, and the latter half an hour. Bear in mind too that the last 2 or 3 km up to the villa is on winding dirt roads, which I would hesitate to tackle after dark!

Great location and property.

It is difficult to know where to start – the most stunning views, the beautiful villa and pool, the peace and quiet or the incredible hospitality and friendliness of Antonio and Carlos. We were looking for a ‘get away from it all’ holiday and we couldn’t have asked for more. The villa has incredible views of both sea and mountains. The villa itself is immaculate and had everything that we needed, including an unexpected and very welcome gift of local produce. The pool and outside areas have plenty of sun all day, but shade too if that is what you prefer. It is a beautiful drive to the town of Competa (highly recommend this) and very easy to drive to Torrox Pueblo, Torrox Costa and Nerja for restaurants, shops and supermarkets as well as sightseeing. Thank you Antonio and Carlos, we had a wonderful holiday at your beautiful villa.

Outstanding villa, but not for nervous drivers

Some holiday properties do not look as good as the photos make out, but this cortijo looks exactly as it does in the pictures and video and is immaculately presented and very well equipped. The pool is great and was very warm, and the outdoor and pool lighting meant we enjoyed night time pool parties as a family.

The property enjoys spectacular views, but being near the top of a mountain means that you need to drive 2KM along a single track to reach it; it's pretty steep near the end and a bit of a shock the first time you do it, even though the owners' son Carlos met us and we followed his car. The drive gets much easier after a few runs, but if you are even a slightly nervous driver, I think the journey up and down the track might be more stressful than you would want for a relaxing holiday.

Quiet place with stunning views

We loved our stay! It is a drive up the hill, but it is well worth it. A very beautiful and well equiped house with lovely terraces around the house. Antonio is very hospitable and he will help you whenever he can. He provided us with the names of some very nice restaurants, brought me af basket of the local fruit 'nispero' (delicious) and he even arranged an interpretor when I needed medical help due to a little accident. Thanks for a great vacation. We hope to be back!

Perfect Holiday Villa, Perfect Hosts!

We stayed here for the October week school holiday a few months ago. From the outset communication was brilliant, timely and clear and when we arrived we were met at the pre-arranged place by Antonio. Somewhere between google translate, our miniscule smattering of Spanish and Antonio's warmth we were able to understand each other and following him up the winding track to the villa was not a problem at all.

The villa itself is absolutely beautiful and beautifully situated with gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside and the sea in the distance.It is quiet and private and in the mornings you are unlikely to wake up to anything other than the sound of the odd donkey braying in the distance and a cockerel or two. Torrox is not far and there you get the beach, a decent selection of eateries, shops and supermarkets. Nerja is a short drive away as well so there is plenty to do in the area.We have no reservations about recommending this property.To Antonio and Carlos, thank you so much for your hospitality, we hope to see you again soon :-)

Stunning property

We were met by Antonio, who was lovely, and very patient with our lack of Spanish. Antonio led us up to the house, what a beautiful property, in a stunning setting, the views are spectacular, mountains, sea. The house is charming and very well equipped, with everything you could need.

The pool area is fantastic, and was very well used by all of us, as were all of the outside seating areas.

The welcome pack was gratefully received.

We would definitely recommend this property.

A beautiful restored cortijo or country cottage ideally located for a holiday away from it all but also close to the sea and the hustle and bustle of village and town life if needed.

Enviably located on a hill top this property is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves and enjoys truly stunning views of the Mediterranean.

The house is situated about an hour drive east of Malaga between the white villages of Torrox and Cómpeta. Torrox village is a drive of around 15 minutes and a distance of 6km approx. The house is located on a hilltop therefore enjoying truly fabulous views of the mountains, sea and coast between Nerja and Malaga. Cómpeta is also very close by at approx. 7km. The access to the house is excellent. On leaving the motorway you have a short drive to the main Torrox/Cómpeta road (A-7207) and then 4.5km of this road before arriving at the Montealegre area of Torrox where you take an excellent track, most concreted to arrive at the villa
