About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, lounge, dining, conservatory, driveway parking

St Brides is a beautifully modernised West Wales detached stone cottage - one of the oldest houses in Saundersfoot. It has been in our family for nearly 50 years and was formally owned by an old Sea Captain. All the front rooms have panoramic views of the beach and the bay. We are 200M from Saundersfoot beach, the harbour, the town's shops and restaurants. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is nearby.

The cottage, with its thick stone walls and beamed ceilings, has been completely fitted out to a high standard for your comfort and enjoyment. There are 3 bedrooms: 1 king, 1 double and 1 bedroom with bunk beds for 2 children. There is a very good upstairs bathroom (bath, shower, wc and basin) and downstairs shower room with wc. The kitchen, dining room and lounge are all separate rooms.

The lounge has a wonderful wood burning stove (basket of logs provided), large TV with BT Vision/Sport and is equipped with a Yamaha iPod/iPhone player

WiFi is provided via BT and it runs at 4-6Mb. BT Sport is also provided that allows film downloads and recording of your favourite TV shows.

There are books, games and some dvds provided with the cottage. The books are mostly modern novels - recently bought for reading groups!

The Garden: The front garden and lovely large terrace over look the bay/beach. There are chairs and a table in the conservatory. The rear garden is sloping. There are stone steps and retaining walls in the garden and unguarded drops of about 1m. The garden is reasonably secure and children and pets should be supervised and/or be careful. The garden is not completely pet proof. There is a rotary washing line.

Unusually for the centre of Saundersfoot, there is off road parking on the drive for two or three cars which is accessed off St Brides Hill. The gateway to the drive is wide enough for family cars (9 feet). To leave by car most people reverse out which requires assistance. The photographs show the access and driveway and the terraced garden.

The amenities of Saundersfoot are within a short walk down St Brides Hill. The long sandy beach (within 200 metres) has safe bathing, good fishing and magical rock pools to explore! The harbour is directly below the cottage with fishing & leisure boats and the Saundersfoot Sailing Club.

The luxurious St Brides Hotel is very close by where you can enjoy a great meal or a visit to the luxurous Spa.

We pride ourselves on making your stay as enjoyable as possible - please go to the 'Reviews' section to see what previous visitors think!

Saundersfoot is a seaside village with a picturesque harbour and a long, wide, gently sloping sandy beach. It is popular with all age groups, walkers and watersports enthusiasts. Originally a fishing village, it is now one of South Pembrokeshire's favourite holiday spots. In the village and surrounding area there are a wide range of activities and eaterys for the holiday visitor.

St Brides Cottage probably has one of the best locations in Saundersfoot with stunning views over the bay and the harbour yet within walking distance of all amenities and the beach.

Saundersfoot revisited

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in St Bride's Cottage which we found really well appointed and very comfortable. It was nicely situated to give good access to the centre of Saundersfoot and also to the Coastal Footpath, stretches of which we were particularly interested in walking, while it was also a good jumping off point for visiting Tenby and St Davids. We had the advantage, too, of having grandstand vantage points for both the Saundersfoot triathlon and Welsh Iron Man both of which took place during our stay and in which we were collectively interested. In the cottage it was nice to be able to light the log burner on one cold night, while spacious living accommodation contained everything we could have wanted.

We would thoroughly recommend the cottage to other users.

Fantastic view. It's for getting away from it all.

  • 5 of 5

Perfect getaway for those who are stressed in their 9-5 and want to sit back, maybe make your own log fire, pick a book from the library in the house and relax. Yes there's wifi but my advice is stay off the grid and enjoy the peace and quiet. Access is a bit awkward but manageable and understandable with the vista that's achievable from this elevated position. Bunk beds and doubles in there and has modern bathroom facilities / decor. In summary, take one car and you won't have an issue with an otherwise perfect break to Saundersfoot.

Comfortable well equipped cottage with amazing views of harbour & sea

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable cottage, everything we needed. Lovely outdoor area to sit and enjoy the views. Only downside is trying to get out of the drive! Everything you need in Saundersfoot so no need to travel anywhere. We did drive to Tenby, another beautiful place. Pembroke Castle is worth a visit. We would book again

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review. I'm sorry you had trouble getting out of the drive - the volume of August traffic can make it difficult to reverse out. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay and I hope you are able to return again sometime. Best wishes Peter

A Perfect Stay

  • 5 of 5

We have been renting cottages in the UK for almost 20 years and this is one of the best. It certainly met our expectations and more. First of all, working with the owner prior to arrival was informative, helpful and pleasant. We found extensive information on all the appliances, TV, fireplace, etc. It is a comfortable, cozy place, yet full of modern conveniences. The sun porch was a bonus and the bench overlooking the harbor a wonderful place to sit in the sun and have coffee or wine. We were a short 5 minute walk downhill to the town, close to the Coast Path, and convenient to the Bus, which we took to Tenby. There were several pubs, and a wonderful little bakery. We strongly recommend this cottage and hope to return some day. Please be advise that the drive way and parking is a tight fit and not friendly to large cars. One good thing, the owner provides very good information on the driveway, parking and locating the key.
