Things to do and places to visit:

Le Puy du Fou - This famous history theme park is unique in Europe, offering a full day out, packed with fun for all ages, including a Roman amphitheatre with chariot races and gladiators, falconry displays and recreated villages from several different periods of history. The 'Grand Park' with its day-time attractions is open to visitors, without reservation, throughout the season and there is night-time 'son-et-lumiere' open air theatre for which you need to book months in advance (but well worth it!). See their web site.

Exotic gardens of Court d'Aron - St Cyr-en-Talmondais. Thousands of rare plants in a delightful setting. Spectacular lotus flower lakes in bloom from June to September. See Court d'Aron.

Perfumed Gardens at Coex - Unique collection of fragrant plants from all over the world, boutique of natural perfumes. See site.

Excellent property
Very nicely furnished and comfortable, clearly a well loved family gite rather than just a holiday let. We were very impressed. The lack of WIFI was a bonus as our kids played games together instead. Good peaceful location as very close to O'gliss and O'fun parks. 20 mins to La Tranche Sur Mer and Les Conches beaches. Would definitely recommend.

Would be 5-stars but...
We spent a wonderful two weeks in this beautiful property in what is a truly beautiful area. Would be a 5-star review but for the lack of WiFi, something which was not made clear in the property listing (last mention being a 2017 review complaining about the poor wifi, and a response saying it was in the process of being sorted). It didn't occur to us to check this in advance because, frankly, who doesn't provide internet access in a holiday rental these days? Lack of access to the internet (mobile data also being very weak and intermittent) made planning our days out difficult, especially as so many places require online booking in advance now.

We had a great week here in what is an absolutely beautiful and very well presented barn. All the key activities(great beaches, water parks etc) are reachable by short drive. Steve was great and very responsible. We hope to come back sometime soon

My wife and the family, Jessica and Jack love traveling to France for our holidays, we find the French people very welcoming and the country full of fantastic places to visit.

Why they chose this property

We had been to many places in france, but found this area one of the best in regards of weather, beaches and things to keep the children very happy and entertained, we didn't want the hussle of busy resorts but the traquility and natural wildlife right on our door step feel, and we found it with this barn, surrounded with sweetcorn fields two large ponds and ousing wildlife such as wild boar, roe deer, ragondin, praying mantis, glow worms ect.

What makes this property unique

The piece and quite of the fantastic French countryside, right on natures door step with a front row seat to sit back and watch the wild life and within 15 minutes of the busy seaside resort of La Tranche sur mer!!

The barn was built with ancient stone from the old monasterys of Moutiers and retain a lot of the original features of the old cattle barn, with walls nearly two foot thick the barn keeps mostly cool in the summer.Inside feels very big and airy and is very homely.
We love waking up in the morning and having breakfast outside on the east facing decking with the sun shining down on us, in the evening its out on the front for the evening BBQ whilst watching the sun set...Fantastic.
