Excellent Base for Family Holiday – Loved it!!

  • 5 of 5

We booked this for 2 families of 4 and it worked really well for us. :-) We went to Legoland twice which was about 35 minutes away on an easy drivable route. We went to Chessington once 20 mins away and again, very easy journey). We did a day trip to London and the train took 33 minutes (we did take a fast train).

The bungalow is a very good size and has 4 bedrooms (3 are doubles and one is a twin). A good sized kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine and a full sized fridge freezer – all good for a family as we used all of these things!

The lady next door (who looks after the house) was very helpful. When we had a birthday party for my daughter with the 4 kids and we realised we didn’t have a lighter to light the candles on the cake she lent me some matches. Also on the second day I said the house was so warm (due to the fact it was gorgeous weather when we were away) and she give us some sheets we could use as opposed to the duvets. I used them every evening.

I would definitely come back here again as we did have a great time. I would say that it could do with some black out curtains as its so light so the kids all woke up very early (around 5.30am every morning).

Very nice accommodation, perfectly located

  • 5 of 5

This Bungalow offers much space and is fully and well equipped. Furniture is comfortable and very well kept. Available WLAN access makes short term tour planning easy.

From here you can easily reach Central London by train, as well as the south coast or other nice destinations. The city of Guildford is a nice place to be and a place with beautiful surroundings (North Downs). A perfect contrast after a visit in London.

The lady that gave us a warm welcome (and the keys) was very nice and always was available for questions, if needed.

We enjoyed our stay very much and sadly left the place when we needed to return home. I would surely press the "like" button several times if there were any. I warmly recommend this place.

Great Property

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful property. I have just returned from 6 weeks here. I could live there. The location is great 15 minute walk to Town Centre and 20 to Mainline station.(London 35 minutes ). Bus stop outside door.

It has everythng you need for a wonderful stay in this lovely old town with its cobbled High Street. The property was very clean on arrival .Lovely comfy beds, very well equipped kitchen. Garden with Barbeque( too cold for that).

Lots of information on what to do, dining etc. If Indian food is your thing then you must ry the local restaurant. Red Rose(5 minute walk) .Do book as it gets very busy. They also do take away. Lots of lovely old pubs in this area. Call a cab so you can enjoy the local ales. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.

A real pleasant surprise :)

  • 5 of 5

I hired this house for my new in laws to use as a base before our wedding day. This is a gem of a bungalow style property with loft conversion, and is beautifully equipped and furnished - it really does look the way it does in the photos. The lady who looks after the property on behalf of the landlord was really friendly and kind, and was not intrusive at all especially considering she lives next door. The landlord is based in Australia, so when you contact him bear this mind as he can't give an instant response due to the time differences. This is also a shame as I can't thank him in person!

Luxury

  • 5 of 5

Really lovely dorma bungalow, decorated and furnished to a luxury standard. The bed were very comfortable, accomodation was spacious and warm. The children loved the hugh television made watching there fav films like being at a cinema. Would certainly love to come again for a longer visit. The owner was very helpful and obliging us in our recent bevereament allowing us to have this charming bungalow for a long weekend to attend funeral. Picture doesnt show annex attached where the very nice keyholder lives. This gaves us no problems or concerns on the one meeting she was very poilte and helpful the rest of the time we didnt see or hear he. Situated on quite a busy road but set well back, cant say the traffic gave us any real concerns slept well....in the lovely comfy beds. Would certainly have no problems recommending this property to anyone. Thanks for a pleasant surroundings to stay in at our sad time.

A great place to stay - keep it a secret!

  • 4 of 5

This was just perfect in virutally every way. Warm, really comfy beds, lots of space, a great kitchen and a HUGE telly! The applicances in the kitchen are high spec and work well. The whole house smelled newly repainted and it was lovely and clean. We had a great time - thanks SO much.

Just a couple of really tiny niggles - could you put a key to the windows somewhere - for fresh air and in case of fire etc. Also it would have been even more delightful if the fireplace had been an open one so we could have had a small fire - ahh bliss!

However this was a great place to stay - so take it from us - if you are looking for a no nonsense place in Guildford - stay here! We will come back - if allowed after writing this review!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your suggestions, we have included a key with the house keys for the windows. As for the real fire, most people who stay are on holiday so do not want to have to clean out a fireplace plus it could be a fire hazard for small children. Please feel free to come back at any time.

From the Owner

My wife grew up in Guildford so we come back to the UK often so we needed a home away from home. So that the property would not be empty in between our visits we decided to let it as holiday accommodation. We hope any visitors will find it as comfortable and homely as we do.
