About the property

Ideal For 2 In A Peaceful Hideaway- a bungalow annexe to a period property

We look forward to welcoming you to have a peaceful self-catering holiday in the ground floor, self contained annexe of our home. Wildlife is abundant around here and only the occasional tractor from our neighbouring farm disturbs the peace.

The accommodation comprises a double bedroom with king-size bed, a shower room with shower which has a strong seat and steadying handles, toilet & basin. The lounge / diner is large and well equipped. It has comfy arm chairs, a table & two chairs, and a television with DVD player. There is no smoking throughout the whole property. Free WiFi is available.

The kitchen has all facilities – electric cooker, washing machine, fridge / freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave, iron & ironing board.

Heating is via electric storage radiators. Outside there is a summer house where bicycles can be stored, and chairs, tables & a barbecue are provided.

There is also access to your own part of the garden with a rotary clothes drier supplied.

All linen is provided. Supervised by the owner, many little extras are supplied to save you packing them! There is plenty of parking space. There is a good pub in the next village.

We have an outdoor swimming pool, which guests can use in the summer months by arrangement and by signing a disclaimer.

Situated in the middle of the county, it is ideal for exploring Suffolk or further afield Norfolk. Short breaks are a possibility.

We moved here with my parents in 1984 from North London. I now run the annexe as a holiday home. It is very much a home from home.

What makes this bungalow unique

I include lots of extras in the price that you pay. I oversee the annexe and have high standards of care. We plough our profits back into the annexe making updates all the time. I am the owner, manager and cleaner resulting in high levels of care, attention to detail and much thought towards the comfort and well being of our guests.

Use it before it goes

Much bigger property than I expected. Very good value and able to choose number of nights want. Lots of touches eg. bed made for you on arrival, a free bottle of cider and half a pint of milk in the fridge. Excellent find. Only problem is that the owner is about to sell and it looks unlikely that it will continue as a holiday option!

Cosy well situated cottage

Ideally situated cottage in a quiet location. A good base to discover this little known area of England. Highlights for us were Flatford Mill, Bury St Edmonds and Laverham (300 listed buildings). The Anglo-Saxon village at West Stow is well worth a visit, particularly during school holidays when there are demonstrations.

At the cottage, it was great to have all the basic items provided eg kitchen roll, foil, tea/coffee, sugar etc.- a list is provided on booking. The bedroom was nicely furnished and cosy. The bathroom has a power shower and a good sized towel rail. The lounge is comfortable but a bit dark because of nearby trees. There is a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of work surfaces. It would be nice to have a some storage space for dry food items

Quiet location near Stowmarket.

Self-contained annexe to owners' property. Well maintained and stocked, and ideal for 2 people.

Owners are friendly and helpful, and furniture and fittings are of a good quality.

There is use of a garden area, and the bonus of a summerhouse.

A peaceful rural location. The area was prosperous in the middle ages. There are plenty of timbered framed historical thatched houses around dating back to those times. Situated in the middle of the county of Suffolk, ideal for walking, cycling or sightseeing by car.
