Pretty detached cottage dating from the 1800's. It has a pretty and enclosed south facing garden with a sunny aspect which is great for barbecues or just sunbathing in peaceful surroundings. There are stunning views overlooking Mount's Bay and on towards the Lizard. The interior is tastefully furnished with plenty of original artwork on the walls.

There are two main reception rooms - one with a great wood-burner for winter evenings. The kitchen is fully fitted with ample crockery and cooking equipment. Upstairs there is a bathroom with toilet, sink, bath and shower facilities, one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a small single room. All the bedrooms enjoy spectacular views. A well-behaved dog is welcome. A travel cot is available on request. About Lyndsay Newman

We live in Bristol and have a rural family business in Somerset. I also work as a part-time community worker in Somerset. Our 2 children are now at West Country Universities. We enjoy spending as much time as we can at our cottage, walking, cycling, and visiting friends and family.

Why Lyndsay Newman chose South West Cornwall

We both holidayed in Cornwall as children and my family moved to West Penwith 25 years ago. My mother lives in a nearby village. The sense of peace in Sancreed is magical, the views from the house are spectacular, and the surrounding area and beaches are wonderful. We can be at the beach in 10 minutes but also pop into Newlyn to stock up on fish in less than 10 minutes. We fell in love with the cottage when we saw it. It suits us perfectly.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The cottage gets flooded with light most of the day. It is south facing with great views. The rooms are attractively decorated with some original artwork on the walls. We love the gardens which surround the cottage too. The lane is so quiet you are far more likely to see a walker/cyclist/horse than a car!

  • All three bedrooms offer superb views. There are many original features including painted pine floorboards and painted panelling in the hall. The double bedroom has a TV but please note the third bedroom is small.

There is an outside tap and bucket for washing wetsuits. If you need any extras please contact me by email.. A well-behaved dog is welcome. There is a stair gate for toddlers and a travel cot can be provided. Short term breaks in the late autumn, winter and early spring are available.

Cosy and homely

We spent a long February weekend in the Newington farmhouse with our three teenage kids and a dog. We all loved the house with its original features and a log burner. The location was perfect with just a short drive to dog friendly beaches. We'd love to come back in summer for more beach walks and micro adventures! With thanks, Jo & family

Lovely cottage

We spent a lovely week at Newington Farm. We liked the spacious and comfortable living and dining room and the views from the bedrooms were lovely. We thought it was a great location with fantastic beaches nearby. We would highly recommend it for a relaxing time in Cornwall.

A cosy and homely rural cottage

We had an amazing short break at this lovely rural cottage. We settled in very quickly and didn't want to leave!

The pictures really don't do this place enough justice. The cottage and the surrounding area are even more gorgeous in person. It was very clean and well-taken care of, and all appliances worked fine. We didn't realize that the washing machine was also a dryer, so that was a pleasant surprise and we definitely didn't mind being woken up by the sheep in the nearby feild.

During our short stay we visited Cape Cornwall and Kynance Cove, both beautiful parts of the cornish coast which we'd highly recommend visiting, if you haven't been already.

Lyndsay was very friendly and helpful when I spoke to her on the phone. Would reccommend this cottage to everyone. Thank you for having us :)

Stunning property in idyllic location

A lovely farmhouse in a beautiful location with amazing views from all bedroom windows. Rural peaceful location yet near enough to coastal towns for something more lively should you need it. Great walks and historical interest right on the doorstep too! The farmhouse has absolutely everything you could need and really is home from home - thank you! Will definitely be returning.

Beautiful place in the countryside

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful retreat in Cornwall. Newington Farmhouse is a cosy little cottage that has everything you need for quiet and calm days. Lot´s of rooms with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a great view from the upper windows. The surrounding country is an invitation for relaxed hikes. Never had such a lot of fresh air for month!

And the seaside is always in reach within a half hours drive. There are also many nice small villages to visit. We liked Mousehole a lot!

We´ve been here with our kids and they too loved it.

A great place

We spent half term with our 18 year old twin sons and cocker spaniel Bertie in this lovely cottage which was perfectly situated to explore this beautiful part of England with both the North and South Coast within easy reach. The rooms had a very special and cosy atmosphere with great paintings everywhere ( a visit to the artist in her nearby studio is highly recommended, she is lovely and we bought a painting from her to remind us of our stay!). The views from the bedroom are stunning and waking up to the very special winter light creating its own artwork in the blue framed windows was a pleasure every morning. At the end of the day the sofas by the wood burner were the perfect place to curl up with our books. The cottage is very well stocked with everything you can think of that makes for a comfortable stay and we could not have found a more charming place.

A deposit of 1/3 of the total cost is required on booking with full payment due one month before arrival. Payment is by bank transfer or cheque.
If you are bringing more than 1 dog, an extra £20 per dog is payable.
Repeat customers receive a 10% discount on their stay.Rates include electricity, central heating, linen, towels and wifi.
Changeover day is Saturday and guests can arrive after 3pm.
