Casa Rosa is a modern single storey cottage having been totally rebuilt on the site of an old farm in 2003. It has a beautiful position set among olive and almond groves with sweeping views over arable farmland to the mountains of Ronda and Malaga to the west. It is approximately one hour's drive north from Malaga airport and is ideally situated as a base for exploring Southern Andalucia. Granada is approximately one and a half hour's drive and Ronda much the same. It is close to the Torcal National Nature Park which is home to golden eagles and they can often be seen flying over the cottage. Casa Rosa is the perfect holiday cottage for walkers, painters, bird watchers, golfers (the nearest golf course is at Antequera 30 minutes away) or for those who just want to get away from it all. It is fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, barbecue, Sky TV and a DVD player. There is a swimming pool which can be heated for an extra charge. This is a non smoking property.
This partner has demonstrated and is committed to fast response times, the best rates, and a great guest experience.
We are a retired couple living in the south of England, and we bought Casa Rosa as a ruin and rebuilt it as a fully modernised cottage. The peace and quiet and fabulous views were what appealed to us. We have made a lovely garden and it is our second home. We spend about two to three months a year there. Above is a picture of the cottage in April with our lovely roses in full bloom.
Harriet Jones purchased this cottage in 2002
When we were thinking of buying a property we looked all round Andalucia from the Ronda area to further east but nothing appealed as much as the area near Villanueva and the Torcal National Park, because of the lack of tourism and unspoilt countyside. We look out over an agricultural valley and can see the mountains of Malaga and Ronda in the distance. The sunsets are spectacular.
We feel it is a magical place!
The peace and quiet, the slowness of the pace of life, the fabulous views, the fact that we can stand on our terrace at night and not see any other lights in the valley.
This week has gone by far too quickly - always a sign that we have had a great time. The girls have loved the pool and the little touches have made Casa Rosa great to return to after day trips, and serenity, views and bird life. A wonderful place to simply relax. Thankyou.
We had a fantastic repeat stay at Casa Rosa and plan to visit again next year.
The villa was well equipped and had fabulous views. The weather was very hot and the pool was perfect for cooling down in.
I would highly recommend staying her but do get a suitable car for the track down to the villa. We had a fiat 500 that just about made it up and down :)
A fabulous villa and location and we would definitely stay again.
Very well equiped house nurtured with love on a beautiful location. It is hard to find things that could be better but I do have two suggestions. More towels (now only 1 hand and 1 pool towel for a week). And larger beds. I am used to 2,20 length beds. This is in most houses and hotels not the case but I would very much appreciate it. I do have to say that Kelly (from a company that we could call for help) was very helpful and brought extra towels.
Positives are all over the place. It is clean, well equiped kitchen, washing maching, bathroom for each room, great pool with lights and long enough to swim a bit, great view, very private.
Will return again I think!
And thanks Harriet for providing all the info and pleasant booking experience.
Casa Rosa is the perfect place for a quiet, restful holiday. Some days, we might hear 1 car, other days nothing apart from the bells of the odd Goat heard being walked across the hills.
The property is beautifully maintained with wonderful gardens watered by an automatic watering system.
The pool was glorious, perfect for a cooling dip when the weather is hot!
We saw golden eagles flying over the property and vultures in the nearby national park.
If you want to see some of the historic cities nearby, Seville is 2 & half hours drive away, Cordoba and Granada 1 & half hours drive away.
Only advice I would give is don't hire a car with a small engine. The hills in the area are very steep with hairpin bends, we ended up having to go up some in 1st gear!
A perfect restful place for a holiday, we will definitely be returning
This was our third visit to Casa Rosa. We simply love this villa!
It is set in such a beautiful space looking out over a panoramic vista of gentle rolling hills with views to the far distance. Down below you can watch the goatherds working the fields or occasionally see an eagle soaring in the air as you sit on the shaded terrace or by the pool.
The house is tastefully decorated and is so light and airy compared to many Spanish fincas. The kitchen had been upgraded since our last visit and has everything you need for cooking indoor or out.
The villa is accessed off the main Pastelero road by a dusty track that is easily managed in an ordinary car if driven with care. The track leads across the valley to the villa which is set in its own lovely gardens and adjacent olive groves, giving it wonderful privacy.
Yet the local shops are only a ten minute drive away and the big supermarkets in Antequera only 30 minutes away.
There is plenty to do in the area. We particularly enjoyed the walks around the El Torcal limestone outcrops – a short drive away. But there is plenty more one can do in the area – just consult the visitors guide if you are unsure. And there is also a book of traveller’s tips too which we found quite useful despite our knowledge of the area.
We had a wonderful, relaxing visit again this year. We have been lucky enough to have stayed in many villas across Andalucia over the years but in our opinion Casa Rosa stands head and shoulders over them all.
It just has that perfect blend of situation, views, facilities, access and ambience for the perfect Andalucian holiday destination.
Thank you Harriet, we had another great time at Casa Rosa.
Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful holiday home. We had a truly lovely week, everything about Casa Rosa is beautiful and we are already planning our next visit! The accommodation is superb with every detail thought of, and the pool and location are out of this world. Just perfect.
Other Activities: Bird watching . Close to the El Torcal National Park where golden eagles and griffin vultures are often seen among many other birds . Wonderful walking straight from the cottage. Fabulous views.
