Location: Aviemore is located at the foot of the Cairngorms in the heart of the highlands. It is an ideal base for a relaxing or active holiday and offers something for everyone with the opportunity to explore its magnificent wildlife, history and culture.

Things To Do : There is an extensive range of active pursuits including: mountain biking, golf, swimming, hill walking, climbing, pony treking, quad biking, fishing and clay pigeon shooting. Aviemore is within easy reach of many historical sites, interesting coastal towns and the city of Inverness is less than 30 minutes away. The Strathspey steam railway runs between Aviemore and Boat of Garten regularly during holiday times. Ospreys can be viewed at the RSPB site at nearby Loch Garten.

MacDonald’s Resort offers shopping, leisure and spa centre and is based in Aviemore.

Entertainment: Aviemore has a wide range of bars and restaurants and there is often live entertainment available in these.

Lovely house in a good location

Having stayed at this property for 5 nights in October 2017 i have to agree with comments made in a previous review.

It is a lovely house with a lovely garden in a ideal location but sadly let down by the lack of basic cleaning throughout but especially the cooker & fridge which were very grubby.

Also make sure you read the info pack when you arrive or you will be getting up on your first morning with no hot water or heating.

We have stayed at various properties in the area over the years and this is the first time we have had to leave any negative comments so hopefully they will be taken on board by the property owners.

Disappointing value for money.

Lovely cottage in quiet cul de sac in superb location with easy walking access to town centre. Lovely garden too. The interior needs a wee freshen up tho. However this is let down by poor quality beds and very poor standard of cleanliness ..... dirty oven, pots and crockery. Don't think the cleaners knew the basics of hoovering and dusting. Cigarette ends scattered on ground outside front door. Hot water tank not switched on for our arrival. Very basic issues not been carried out really. For what we paid I wouldn't use this property again .... i have paid the same amount of money for similar or bigger properties which were far superior by comparison.

Quiet and peaceful home base

This property was very comfortable, quiet and well located for exploring the Highlands. It was spotless-clean and everything was in working order. The owner always responded to e-mails very promptly and he promptly returned my security deposit. I highly recommend this property. It's much cheaper than a hotel!

A visit to Aviemore is about relaxing in the serene Scottish Highlands. It is an all the year round holiday resort where you can can walk, climb or explore the beauty of Loch Morlich, Speyside and the wider Cairngorm National park and in winter there is skiing and snowboarding.
