About Jill

I'm the luckiest person to live and work here and am never going to get to the bottom of the list of things we want to do here. There's another pond to go in, more flagstone and all you lovely guests to meet from all over the world.

When we opened to guests four years ago I had no idea that it would be so enjoyable, it's a pleasure to be here and I hope it is for you.

Jill purchased this barn in 1988

Why Jill chose Kent

We loved this area of England and spent 2 years looking for suitable land to buy, then spent ten years trying for planning permission and finally got it. We wanted to build in the true style of Kent and we hope you will approve of the results

What makes this barn unique

Our farm stands within a truly delightful 43 acres of beautiful quiet contryside with georgous view. We have two lakes of 12 acres to stroll around and over the last ten years we have planted 12,000 native broadleaf trees with walk ways through.

This all creates the perfect place to just chill out or explore the delights of south east England

Guestbook comments from the owner

Beautiful property in idyllic setting with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week with friends at The Oak Barn in May and were fortunate enough to have fantastic weather. Very comfortable property with wonderfully soft beds, in a lovely part of the country. How we miss waking up to that view and the wildlife each morning! With many National Trust properties and gardens nearby, there was so much to see that we were spoilt for choice each day. Jill and Maurice made us very welcome, and thank you Jill for the delicious cream tea on arrival.

Lovely host, comfortable accommodation, beatiful spot

  • 5 of 5

Jill went out of her way to welcome us and even though we couldn't stay in the original accommodation we booked (due to boiler failure) it didn't impact on our stay. Would definitely recommend to others.

Amazing weekend away!

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful place! We had such a lovely weekend and felt completely at home with all the creature comforts. The barn has been built to an extremely high standard with all mod cons and at the same time a rustic feel. The views are stunning and the dogs had a wonderful time walking round the lakes.

A beautiful old pub nearby (one of a few) and the food was yummy!

We cannot thank you enough for a well deserved break away from it all.

We can't wait to go back!!
