Home away from home

We had a wonderful stay at the “Stunning St. Simons Island Home”. My husband and I have three grown sons who have their own families now. There was plenty of room for all of us at this house in St. Simons. I am sure we will stay there again in another year or so. My daughter-in-law said that this was the best set up they had ever had in a housing situation and it was right near the beach. She and her family were able to have the downstairs to themselves. That was so convenient. Thank you, Evolve, for giving us credit when we had to cancel our reservation a year ago due to health issues.

Great home for large families

Our family of 8 stayed at this property over a holiday weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The lighthouse, pier, many shops and restaurants, and the beach are all within walking / biking distance of this home. The parking area is large and access is easy (for the area). The home itself is an interesting layout. It was originally built as two separate independent living areas, one on the first floor and one on the second, but the owners rent both floors as a single property which works well since access to both floors is contained within the building itself. The upside is that you get two full kitchens, which is a nice bonus for large groups. The home was clean overall though we could find some details to gripe about (e.g, master shower could have used a little more attention). The house is nicely furnished, though some pieces are showing their age (e.g., king bed mattress could use replacing, etc). The backyard is a bit of an afterthought, but was not a problem for us. However, if you expected to use the outdoor space extensively you might be disappointed. The biggest issue we had is that the upstairs dryer has an issue where clothes "catch" between the drum and body of the dryer and can be damaged. We had several items damaged in the upstairs clothes dryer. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again. The owners are lovely, check-in is easy, the location is great, the house is nice, and the beds are plentiful!

Perfect Home for a large family beach vacation

We stayed here with our big family, which was perfect. The location was fantastic - easy walk to several public beach access points. Also walkable to the village center including shops and restaurants (although not well lit so would be cautious walking back alone at night). Having two kitchens and two living rooms was great when we were all hanging around in the evening or if it was rainy. The hosts left several little items to help us enjoy the house (details easily overlooked), including dishwasher pods, sponges, soap, beach chairs, and a couple of clothes-washing pods. We will definitely come back and stay here!
