Previously known as the Rankin House Inn Bed and Breakfast, the historical Rankin House Inn (circa 1843) now has a single king bedroom and private bath for rent. Aunt Betsy's room is full of charm and history with the added privacy of it's own entrance and balcony. The location just north of the city in the historical Montford neighborhood, cannot be more convenient- only 3 walk-able blocks to downtown Asheville. Walk to dinner, breweries, art studios alike. The Grove Park Inn and Biltmore Estate are within 2 miles of the house. Come enjoy the quite serenity of Aunt Betsy's Room tonight!

Nice area, Lots of Potential, but...

Love the Montford area but photos were misleading regarding the room. Completely Different furnishings and the exterior was under renovation—- unfinished floor(Exposed plywood sheets) at landing into room and stairway was also unfinished. Outside area was cluttered and clearly a construction area. Window ac unit was also Very loud and annoying. Expected more for the price and pictures. Definitely need to update their photos. Also, expect. aWelcome committee of doggies when you arrive. Don’t get me wrong, I love furry friends, but after a long trip, it was a bit much

I had a wonderful stay here in aunt betsy’s room, would recommend to anyone wanting a quaint stay in AVL. Incredible bed too!

The property looks great online..

Being very close to the downtown area was definitely a plus. The outside was not anything what we had expected. You could tell that the stairs going up to the room was under construction also a plus because needed some improvements. The outside needed allot of cleaning up underneath the downstairs back area. We do thank Collin for always getting back to us promptly with all of our questions... I probably needed to ask a few more for clarity on a few things. There was a bottle of red wine that was waiting for us and a small of loaf of spiced bread in the fridge which was really appreciated. My wife and I were also under the impression that there would be some type of kitchen facilities there for us to use besides just a small frig. no microwave which would be a definite plus at least for us. There was a Keurig in the room which was great and coffee pods furnished. The reason I feel I needed to write this review was to make sure that the next person ask more questions about the property to make sure there will not be any surprises especially if you are driving a long distance to get there. This was my first VRBO....

Aunt Betsy’s

The room was spacious and decorated nicely. The bed was quite comfortable. We enjoyed the little extra touches : bottle of wine, list of recommendations for restaurants, poppy seed bread. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience.
