A stone's throw from the beach with pretty gardens

  • 4 of 5

Casara Zahora is probably the nicest place we have ever stayed during several years of visiting Spain. It is small, quiet, a stone's throw from the beach and has pretty gardens and parking. We stayed in Casara Uno for a week and found the booking process easy. Sara kindly sent us extra information about the beaches and restaurants and we were met by Marie France, who was extremely friendly. Casara Uno is reasonably well equipped with the basics, is clean and has a big bathroom with a powerful shower and plenty of hot water. The only thing missing is a pool, which I prefer to the sea, but with the beach so close some people would not think it was necessary. As we were there at the end of the season not all the restaurants were open, but we had perfectly nice meals at Hostal Los Pinos, at the top of the road that leads down to Casara Zahora and at Venta Curro, which is in the village before you reach the main road. Los Pinos supermarket opposite Hostal Los Pinos also well stocked with the basics. Hostal Las Acacias on the main road served a nice lunch but it was more expensive than some of the smarter places in Vejer de la Frontera - and had none of the ambience! Vejer, which is about 12 ks away, is a stunning place, especially at night when the old town is lit up and full of atmosphere, history and charm. There are lots of restaurants to choose from there and we enjoyed meals at Casa Varo, Trafalgar and Asador La Brasa de Sancho. The Califa Express cafe was also great. If you visit Jerez, Antonio's on Plaza de la Asuncion is fabulous - overlooking the square and away from the busier bars. Friendly waiters, too. Perhaps the only drawback to the Zahora area is that it is a 2.5-hour drive from Malaga airport and an hour or so from Seville. But that is probably what has saved it from the 'Benidorm Effect' and it is all the better for its relative remoteness. Highly recommended.

Casara, the place to be

  • 5 of 5

Casara is the kind of place you will immediately fall in love with.

The property was even better than the photos suggest.

The house is super clean, comfortable and inviting. The location it's also perfect! there is a private path from the house that communicates with Zahora Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Cadiz. It's a little paradise in itself

Both Sara and Marie were also the perfect hosts. They were very attentive, they recommended us activities and the best places around the area and they even surprised us with a gift box filled with products from the area upon our arrival.

Highly recommended

Beautiful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We have been in Casara a few times, and it is always a pleasure to come back. All the houses in which we have been are clean, cozy and beautiful. Both Sara and Marie France are very nice and will help you in anything you may need. The area is very calm, and the sea is just 2 minutes walking through a nice path, just as mentioned in the description. We strongly recommend Casara. We are looking forward to coming back.

Blissful beachside location

  • 4 of 5

We have stayed at Casara twice and both times it has been the perfect location. The beach is stunning and good for swimming most of the time and not as busy as some of the other beaches nearby. The beach bar is fabulous for lunch and then you can wander back along the beach at night to Sajorami, which has to be one of the most beautiful locations for sun downers in Europe (but watch out, food is very expensive and not as good as it used to be). There are plenty of options for dinner nearby and the food is lovely and fresh - perfect if you like seafood.

The cottages themselves are comfortable, clean, simple and good value. There is also lots to do nearby if you like surfing, riding, shopping etc.

All in all a lovely spot for either a family holiday or a romantic get away. Sara I a lovely hostess and will look after you well.

Enchanting beach house

  • 4 of 5

CASARA is a great place to relax and enjoy the the beauty of the coast in Cadiz. The house was very clean and in good conditions. It is very well located in Zahora beach and close to restaurants and bars in Zahora, Caños and El Palmar. Sara has been a great hostess. We will definitely keep CASARA in our minds hoping to go back to Cadiz soon.
