About Polly Watt

I am a single mum with two daughters aged 8 & 9. I work half time as a teacher at a Business School, and run an online local food business.

Polly Watt purchased this villa in 2010

Why Polly Watt chose Saint-Martin de Bréhal

I wasn't looking to buy another house, but this property is in the most ideal location, particularly for family holidays with dogs! I grew up around horses and the neighbours own a large horse spa. I love watching them being exercised on the beach. I never looked at another house - it was this one or nothing!

What makes this villa unique

Right on the edge of the village, so very peaceful and surrounded by great dog walks.

At the end of the street is the beach 12 km of sand - just beautiful. Minutes up the coast from Granville a beautiful historic town with masses to do.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"This place is fabulous~ There is everything here that makes one right at home & even more than home;)) from the kitchen which has everything one can imagine to the living room with satellite tv & high speed internet. The bedrooms are decked out very clean with everything from books to reading lights towels wash clothes everything very neat. One doesnt need anything here, it really was better than home. The kids were in heaven with more toys than they could play with & big fenced in yard with playhouse, aswell many games for us adults. The beach is few minutes walk and is lovely & 2 golf courses you must not miss. Polly was very helpful in anything we needed or asked of her; even making us cake & a welcome basket full of goodies, my favorite was the fudge. This place truely is awesome and we already have plans to come back. "

A lovely house with many activities for children

  • 2 of 5

The hous was very big and comfortable. It was full of games and puzzles and had a lovely garden with a play house for the kids. The owner had even left boots, beach towels and other useful stuff. The owner was also nice and easy to have contact with. Always replied promply. The beach is just five minutes from the house with a long boardwalk perfect for stolling, walking or runing. The Brasseri in the village was nice and had good - not expensive - food. Our kids was on the beach everyday to collect shellfish, so we had that every night. Just lovely!

Great family holiday location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week here. The house is well kitted out with everything a family might need, including loads of games and beach equipment. Polly was there to greet us on arrival and we were able to contact her when needed during our stay.

The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The bedrooms had plenty of room and the beds are really comfortable.

We went with another family and had plenty of space to spread out. The kids loved the enclosures garden and charged around it all week.

Every window has a shutter so the bedrooms are blacked out at night, which was great to keep the children sleeping after sunrise.

It is 5 minutes walk from the beach and 10 from the village centre. Eating out was limited in the village but lots of places to drive to.

It is in driving distance of lots of great days out, including a really well done zoo.

A great base for a family holiday

Warm and Freindly

  • 5 of 5

Arrived to be met by Polly who was very proud of her house and rightly so, all as described dog friendly, clean, nice area and close to the beach.

We have two Labradors who if could speak found it just like home from home.

It was the little touches that made this place for instance the kitchen fully stocked with all that one would want for a dinner party and all the bathrooms having soap, toilet paper and shower gell plus endless supplies of tea and coffee filters.

The week we chose was very cold but the house was lovely and warm Polly even explained how to turn up the boiler and told us not to worry as she also supplied lots of wood for the lovely open fire. This was truly a pleasant experience from some of the other houses we have stayed in. I would highly recommend this house dog and child friendly and also the Internet worked perfectly, well done.

Maison Mielles, Great Villa!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in Maison Mielles. The house was very clean, the beds super. We have stayed in many holiday homes in the past, but this house has the best equipped kitchen we ever seen. We stayed with 9 adults and 1 child and a dog. There was enough of everything for all. Also perfect to bring your dog. Garden was fenced, no problem to leave the dog in the garden when going out. Only 5 minutes to the beach, we went to Mont st Michel, Carentan, Avarange, Utah beach, museum dead man's corner. Actually there was nothing to complain about. Not even the weather!

St Martin de Bréhal, is a popular family beach resort, situated just north of historic Granville, birth place of Dior. At the end of the street is a 9 hole golf course, the sailing school (with sand yachting, sailing lessons, kite surfing and wind surfing) and the 12km sandy beach, with the biggest tides in Europe.

The property is 300m from the race course and riding school, and about 800m from the village centre. It is approximately 1 hour from the D-Day Landing beaches to the north, and 1 hour from Mont St Michel to the south-east. The property is very close to the salt marshes for excellent walking and bike paths. Throughout the summer there are concerts and activities in the village centre.

Flying lessons, microlight flights and parachuting jumping are available, with views of Mont St Michel, 3 kms away, next to the 18 hole golf-course.

Golf: There are two local all year courses, one with 9 holes at the bottom of the street and the other 3.5km away, which is 18 holes.
