5 stars

We had a wonderful stay at Iona's cottage. It is situated in a quiet area and the cottage has many facilities to provide for a very comfortable stay. It is attractively furnished and it has stunning views across Loch Alsh. Groceries can be bought in Kyle of Lochalsh which is only 5 minutes away by car. There are beautiful walks starting from the cottage. Its location means that it is an excellent base for walks in Skye and on the mainland. We would highly recommend it.

I hope the above helps. it was a truly lovely stay. I also liked the garden and looking out from the kitchen windows on to that big boulder as one cooks or does the washing up!

Regards

Fabulous accommodation in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

Iona cottage was just beautiful- a massive glass fronted living room looking over the loch where we watched porpoises, seals and lots of birdlife. It had an aga which kept the house cosy at all times.the kitchen was really well equipped so we could eat so well and there was lots of space for 6 adults and 4 children to socialise. it is a very quiet track to the beach where the kids had a great time bouldering over rocks. it was a beautiful house in a perfect location- would so recommend it.

Perfect for the big family!

  • 5 of 5

Nice house with a lot of space for a big family. We were eight persons from five month to 66 years and spent a week there. We all enjoyed it. It has a beautiful view and in the evening we saw seals and an otter. The owner was very helpful. We would like to go back!!

Perfect Location & very pleasant cottage

  • 5 of 5

Iona Cottage is a nice and spacious house located on the shore in a nice protected creek.

The house is pleanty of space and well furnished. There is a stunningly spacious leaving room with very nice view over the sea.

Rooms are comfortable and large enough. Bathroom is a bit old but ok.

Kitchen well equipped with a large AGA bringing a nice warm amosphere in the house in the humid time of Scotland. And if enough an oven is available.

Iona Cottage is a perfect place for a nice stay for a family with kids having direct access to the sea and forest w/o any dangerous road in the middle. I would definitely recomand it as a very good spot.

Beautiful property in an amazing location.

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was amazing. The cottage itself was clean and well-maintained and the owner was very helpful with any questions I had. The cottage is in a beautiful, quiet location with attractions not too far away (Isle of Skye, boat tours etc.) I would stay here again in a second. Definitely worth it.

Location

Car: necessary

Iona Cottage is set on the sea front in beautiful National Trust gardens only 3 miles from Kyle of Lochalsh. The surrounding area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts with a wide range of activities on offer including hill walking, horse riding, swimming, cycling, canoeing, glass bottom boat tours, bird watching and fishing. The most photographed castle in Scotland, Eilean Donan, is only a few miles away. Overall, this is a visually spectacular and wild area with the famous mountains, the Five Sisters of Kintail as a backdrop. The Skye Bridge is only 3 miles from the property and a visit to the Isle of Skye is a must.
