Camber Sands is an excellent base for your holiday on the coast of East Sussex. Whether you’re looking to enjoy the unspoilt beauty of the beach, enclosed by the picturesque dunes, exploring historic castles, medieval towns and country houses or keeping fit by cycling and walking or even kite and windsurfing, it’s all here on your doorstep.

Dogs love a big sandy beach – space to run around, sand dunes to explore, water to splash in, interesting smells to discover and plenty of other dogs to play with. Food lovers are well catered for, there’s something for everyone, from your typical seaside staples like fish and chips to the gourmet delights from some award winning local pubs and restaurants in Rye. If you fancy preparing your own meals in the well appointed kitchens of your holiday home then there’s a fantastic array of shops and Deli’s selling local produce and meats including Romney lamb to fresh fish caught by the Rye Bay fishing fleet as well as award-winning wines.

The Light House, Camber Sands is also the perfect location to visit London and all the famous attractions which we can get you 2 for 1 discounts

No stay is complete without visiting the medieval Cinque Port of Rye, home to many beautifully preserved historic buildings from medieval, Tudor and Georgian times including the medieval church and the Ypres Tower (castle). Rye's enchanting cobbled streets are lined with historic inns and restaurants as well as a host of unusual shops selling antiques, collectables, local produce and works by the town’s many resident artists and potters. The town plays host to many events throughout the year including the famous Rye Bay Scallop festival in February, the Arts Festival every September

Whatever the weather, it is difficult not to be seduced by the beguiling beauty of nearby Romney Marshes, almost as mysterious and lonely as they were in the 17th Century when smugglers swapped local wool for brandy from France. The 100-square-mile marsh encompasses tiny villages, ancient, secluded churches and The Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.

The historic seaside town of Hastings is only a few miles away, with its ancient churches, tiny narrow streets and the ruins of a castle built by William the Conqueror. When the weather is inclement there is The Blue Reef Aquarium and fantastic smugglers caves to visit. For history buffs, why not visit the site that on 14th October 1066 an army of invading Normans defeated the English at the Battle of Hastings. There you can stand on the very spot where King Harold was slain and the course of our history changed forever. You can explore the ruins of the atmospheric abbey, built by William the Conquer to commemorate the thousands who died. It is a great day out for the whole family, with a major new exhibition that uses film, computer technology and interactive exhibits to bring to life this bloodiest of conflicts.

A great holiday destination and lovely accommodation.

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Cambersands and booked in at The Lighthouse. It literally was a home away from home. Good sized rooms, lovely kitchen and dining area, a cosy feel to the house and great indoor entertainment provided for the rainy day we had in the way of board games and sky TV. We were greeted with a lovely freshly made cake, biscuits, apple juice and a bottle of Prosecco. Thank you Sophie and Richard! We would definitely book here again!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Camber Sands. House was immaculate, Sophie and Richard so helpful.

  • 5 of 5

The house was immaculate and we had everything we needed. If I was being really fussy, the only annoying thing was there is no shelf in the ensuite so my toiletries were stored on the floor! Tried using the window ledge but the open window blew the blind and everything ended up on the floor! Would recommend the managing company - very helpful and professional.

Thank you.

A wonderful property in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed many times in Camber often just myself, my husband and dog and usually stay in one of the 2 bed properties but needed something bigger and this certainly fitted the bill!

The house was so well equipped with everything we needed. The garden is a real sun trap and we loved having breakfast under the olive trees! We loved the large open plan kitchen / dining room (its bigger than it looks in the photos!) and having sky tv was a massive hit with our partners!

I would also like to thank Richard and Sophie for all their help. The service they offer is fantastic and not something we have experienced else where - hence we keep coming back to your properties!

We loved it so much that we have booked it for next year!

The location is great, unfortunately the property focused on gadgets rather than working basics.

  • 3 of 5

The property is furnished to a high standard with all the technology you would require. Unfortunately this was to the determent of working basics that you would expect in a property in this price range. There was nowhere to hang or store clothes in the third bedroom not even hooks! The shower in the family bathroom flooded the room every time it was used unless you sat in the bath and showered yourself by hand and the extract fans in both the family bathroom and the under- stairs toilet did not work. If these had been maintained to the high standard of the rest of the property then the star value would have been a lot higher.

Good location

  • 4 of 5

Property was big enough for 2 adults and 3 teenagers. Very pleased with generous welcome pack from local producers.

Had everything you could need for the week although we felt the property could have been cleaner.

The bedding was lovely and clean but white towels instead of blue would have been better for us.
