Peace in the pines
Our stay was incredibly relaxing. The property is like something out of a movie. Being surrounded by all the pine trees was incredibly tranquil. Lots to explore. Especially being right next to kangaroo lake. The inside of the cabin was very relaxing as well. We loved the open floor plan and the rustic yet modern aesthetic. I vacationed with my husband, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law. And there was more than enough room for us. Rick was very nice and commutative. He even suggested a few places to visit and things to do. We had everything we needed in the vrbo. The only thing ill mention that "may" be important for other guests is that there is no streaming services on the TV. Which was no big deal for us. We brought our laptop and HDMI cable to connect to the TV. So we were able to watch our favorite shows on Hulu/Netflix no problem. Wifi was fantastic! All in all, we truly enjoyed this property and would definitely stay again. Highly recommend! Thanks again Rick!

Peaceful oasis in the Pines
My wife and I recently stayed at Peace in the Pines for 11 nights. It was so private and peaceful yet conveniently located on the Door County peninsula. We truly loved this place! The cabin was very spacious for the two of us. The property is tucked back away from the road in a very nice grove of pine trees. The cabin was very clean and the furnishings were quality. We really can't think of anything negative about this place. Really looking forward to staying here again.

About the host

My wife and I who live in Waukegan, Il. decided to build a cabin in Door County because as kid I used to spend my summers on Washington Island, (also in Door County), where my Grandma was born, and we both grew to love Door County as a whole.
The time and extra expense it takes to get there though, started to become prohibitive for us, so our trips/ vacations to the island eventually became farther and farther apart, even though that is where my heart is.

Why they chose this property

On our few trips to the island in later years I always enjoyed traveling on the east side (Hwy 57) because I always felt it had a little more unspoiled beauty, and offered a more balanced mix of activities vs. peace and quiet. But you can always drive staight west for 15-20 minutes to the west side, if you want to added activity. Baileys Harbor seemed to be the perfect spot, so we started to rent there.
One day it dawned on me, because of my 32 years of being in the construction trade as an electrician, to take my savings and buy a property in Baileys Harbor, then general contract the building of a vacation rental. Then hopefully it will eventually come close to paying for itself and I can use it once and awhile too. And maybe even make it back to the island once and a while.

What makes this property unique

As we explained in the description at the top of this web page we feel that we ended up building a really attractive, welcoming and peaceful vacation rental with a lot of special touchs inside and out, (thanks to the excellent workmanship of Paul LeClair, Hibbards Creek Log Homes & other capable Door Co. contractors) so that you will feel at home in it like we do.
I think the extra touches we thought of as we went along during the building process will add up to more fun for you, and as we start renting more hopefully we can add to it here and there.
