Chalet Maretse is a very popular luxury self catered spacious chalet sleeping 10 in considerable comfort in a much sought after position in Haute Nendaz. 12 people can be accommodated if required. Outside there is a large garden & patio area with a hot tub that has stunning mountain views and is the perfect place to relax after a days skiing!

Each of the 5 large bedrooms have comfortable beds and plenty of storage.They also have their own stylish & modern bathrooms with power showers. The Master Bedroom has a Super king bed with stunning mountain views and the addition of a large bath & power shower.

There is underfloor heating throughout the chalet making it very cosy & warm which is welcoming after a days skiing.

The chalet has been carefully designed to meet the demands of todays more discerning guests with its stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and the convenience of being situated at the bottom of a Private Road just 5 minutes walk from the Ski Lift, Rentals Outlets, Shops, Bars, Restaurants, and Village centre.

Our guests have been delighted with the large exposed wooden beamed ceilings, comfortable leather sofas and lovely open fire. Logs for the fire are provided at no extra charge.

The flat screen TV in the lounge has Full Sky Sports & Movie Channels/DVD, and there are another 2 flat screen TVs in 2 of the bedrooms. The bedroom leading off the lounge has one of these TVs plus a Play Station 3 which has latest films downloaded for children. This is an ideal room for children whilst parents relax during dinner. We also have Bose Sound System & CDs in the open plan dining room/lounge.

As well as having DVDs and Play Station 3 for children we have books, toys and for the winter there are sledges in the large garage.

The kitchen is very well equipped with all modern appliances including 2 fridge/freezers, (a large one in the garage), dishwasher, microwave, toaster, fondue sets, slow cooker ,food processor, hand whisk & raclette appliance. There are also plenty of cooking utensils, china and glasses.

Large bath towels and hand towels are provided as well as tea towels, hairdryers & slippers . If required a new Z bed, travel cot and a high chair are available .

There is also a separate house toilet on the lounge/dining room area.

Beds are all made ready for your arrival, and if wished the local bakery will deliver fresh bread & croissants to the front door each morning.

There is a large lock up garage and parking for another 2 cars on the property.

Nendaz is at the centre of the Four Vallees and shares its mountain with Verbier, Siviez, Thyon and Veysonnaz, with access to 412km of downhill skiing . Mont fort offers spectacular skiing at 3330m and the view from here is stunning as it is possible to see the French and Italian Alps.

In Summer Maretse is equally popular with the large terraced garden & patio where there is a gas barbeque, garden table, and chairs for 10 people and parasol. The garden and patio area enjoy a sunny position & whilst relaxing in the serviced hot tub you will be able to appreciate the outstanding mountain views.

If catering is desired this can be arranged for part or all of the period at an extra cost.

Having visited Nendaz in the Summer we were amazed at how beautiful the area is . It is renowned for its apricots, raspberries as well as other fruit and it a major wine producing area as well.

Paul & I returned to Nendaz in the winter and fell in love with the vast ski area and also how friendly the village is. We then decided to buy a plot of land and build our lovely chalet!

Very nice, clean chalet and very helpful owners

We stayed in Maretse for eight weeks, from mid-August to mid-October, 2016. We found all of the descriptions to be very accurate. The chalet was very clean (Thanks, Irene!); the kitchen well equipped and the beds very comfortable. Plenty of wood for the fireplace. Most important was the terrific support and helpfulness of the owners, Paul and Mary!!👏

Nendaz was well located where we were able to drive over 10,000km and see every significant site within a two hour drive. We would highly recommend Maretse!😍

An all-around wonderful Chalet and location

We arrived at the Chalet late in the evening after a rather heavy snow. We were worried as to whether or not we could make our way up the road or even find the Chalet given this was our first trip ever to Switzerland and Haute-Nendaz. Well, it could not have been simpler! We easily made it up the road/driveway, immediately gained access and was able to park the car in the garage and unpack in the warmth (oh so wonderful feeling) instead of outside. The Chalet was immaculate, everything in order. The kitchen is very well equipped, so much so that we cooked almost all our meals. It is a very easy walk to the grocery store, boulangerie, ski rentals and the local lift. Good restaurants were also an easy walk into town and there were a large variety of stores to fill your 'shopping' needs.

The thermal heating of the tiled floors made you want to walk around in your bare feet. You could feel the warm the minute you walked in the room, and after a great day on the slopes, it was very welcomed. As was the hot tub! The view is stunning, even at night which is when we used it the most. There were 5 of us and even with all of us in it, there was plenty of room to stretch out.

We highly recommend a trip up to Mont Fort, even if you aren't a skier. The view will take your breath away. As one of my son's stated, 'This is a life changing moment.' Yes it was. We plan to hike there on our next visit which will be this Summer.

Paul and Mary were very quick to reply to our inquiries and we can't wait until the next time.

Cozy Chalet with lovely views and wonderful owners

Extended family of 9 (5 adults and 4 teenagers) just returned from a week skiing over the New Year holiday. Chalet Marts was wonderful – exactly as advertised. We had plenty of space, the property was very clean and the owners, Paul and Mary, were incredibly responsive and helpful. The chalet is very comfortable and had everything we needed. Bedrooms were large and comfortable and radiant floor heating made the house very cozy and warm. The view from the hot tub and the sound of the stream rushing beside it were relaxing after a full day of skiing. I will note, as it has not been mentioned in other reviews, that the last few hundred yards of the road leading to the chalet are very steep so be sure to have the appropriate vehicle and/or tires if visiting in the winter. I will also note that if there is not a great deal of snow (as when we were there) not all runs are open and for us the run connecting Tracouet (the lift in Nendaz) to the rest of the Four Valleys was not open which required us to take a bus to Siviez (15 minutes) to ski anything other than the one run that was open in Nendaz. It is a bit of a schlep with skis and boots to the lift/bus but there are heated ski lockers available for rent at the Tracouet lift station. However, book early during peak times as when we tried to reserve the week before our trip, they were sold out. We took advantage of the bakery delivery, which was a great way to start the day. We also enjoyed the bar tchin-tchin, just down the hill from the chalet, as a nice place for a drink and pizza there was pretty good as well. Finally, I will say that viewing the fireworks all over the mountain and the valley from the balcony of the chalet was a true highlight of our trip.

Carefree vacation in superb chalet

We (five adults and three kids 0-3 years) spent 5 nights in Maretse in August 2015. We were very satisfied. Booking was uncomplicated. From the beginning, the chalet completely satisfied our expectations, which were based on the description and pictures on HomeAway. It was very well equipped and we really did not miss anything. Everything functioned flawless (including the WiFi and washing maschine). We appreciated the upstairs bedrooms overlooking the Rhone valley, en suite bathrooms (total 5 bathrooms!), warm and spacious architecture (enough room for active kids), completely equipped kitchen, big dining table, the patio with the large garden table and of course the outside whirlpool with mountain views. The chalet is well located - it is quiet and still close enough to the city center. Even though there are several other neighboring chalets, the patio and the outside whirlpool are secluded enough.

We felt ourselves at home and had a carefree vacation in Maretse. We can recommend it without reservations for families with or without friends. From the family point of view, it is a 5 star chalet!

Great place to be

Very nice stay at Chalet Maretse. All aspects in line with description.

Very clean, all needed amenities and equipment available, very practical. Great hot tub with amazing view on the Vallée. Very relaxing on the terrace with the sound of the water (bisse).. Great confort in each room with for each a private bathroom and WC. Close to the shops and lift. Easy access.

No doubt, this is really a good deal. No bad surprises.

Contacts with owner also easy and fast.

Organized visits by the Tourism office were great: visit of the village, visit of the barrage Cleuson. Also, summer activities were great and varied (Festival du cor des Alpes, the market, and others)

We'd love to go back !

Maretse is in a prime position close to ski lift, bars, restaurants and shops yet in a private road. The chalet has a large garden and sunny patio area with a hot tub that has stunning mountain views and is quite private. The village has won awards for being 'Family Friendly' and in the Summer there are lovely walks next to the Bisses. In Winter the 4 valleys ski area is very extensive and suitable for all levels. We consider ourselves to be very fortunate to have a lovely chalet in this area.

Haute Nendaz is a lovely mountain village situated at the centre of the Swiss 4 Vallees region at 1400 metres altitude. It is North facing and is part of the extensive Verbier 4 Vallees ski area with over 400 km of pisted runs to suit all levels. It has a snow park/ice-rink.

Maretse is a luxury chalet with parking for 2 cars on the property plus a large garage. The chalet is in a quiet location yet only 5 mins from the main lift station/supermarket/shops /restaurants/bars /Banks /Ski/boot hire. We can offer discount for ski/snowboard/boot hire and lessons.

SKI SEASON: Haute Nendaz is part of the '4 Vallees' which includes Verbier and has 412km of ski runs and 92 lifts. A varied and outstanding domain ranging from 1350m to 3330m in altitude, something for everybody: families, free riders, free style skiers, confirmed skiers or beginners, snowboarders. It is possible to ski right down to the resort during the entire season.

Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon, Mont Fort and Verbier are all areas to ski.

At the highest point of the '4 Vallees' at 3300m, the Mont Fort area is a location of nature & freedom, where free-riders meet powder snow. It has exceptional panoramic views and is also a great excursion for non-skiers. Ski School is conveniently at the top of the ski lift at Tracouet.

SUMMER: Nendaz is a vibrant village which has a number of festivals and a regular market specialising in local produce. The larger medieval town of Sion is 20 minutes drive down the mountain through vineyards and Apricot trees.

During summer, Haute Nendaz is popular for walking especially along the Bisses which are the old medieval streams for irrigation. Hiking, mountain biking, golfing, skate-boarding, rock climbing, etc. are all very popular. Many of the ski lifts are open in Summer and bikes can be taken on the lifts free between June - September.

There is an outdoor swimming pool in Nendaz, and beautiful spa and pool at the local luxury hotel as well as the spa pools and baths at Saillon.

Golf: 18 hole Golf Course 20 minutes away at Sion. Also 18 hole Golf Courses at Verbier and Crans Montana.

We are very fortunate with the position of Maretse being close to everything yet at the bottom of a quiet Private road.

If a person or a group of people cancel their holiday at any time they will not be entitled to their deposit returned .
Cancellation MUST be made in writing or email and the date of the cancellation will be the date that we receive it and not the date it was sent.
If they cancel after they have paid the balance then there will be a proportion of their money returned:
a) If they cancel before 8 weeks from the date they are due to arrive in the chalet then they will have their money returned LESS their deposit.
b) If they cancel between 4 and 8 weeks of the date they are due to arrive they will lose their deposit + 50% of the balance.
c) If they cancel between 2 and 4 weeks they will lose their deposit +75% of the balance.
d) If they cancel less than 2 weeks then they will lose the whole cost of the holiday and be entitled to no refund.

We have stunning mountain views, beautiful comfortable furnishings within the chalet, and the Chalet is only 5 minutes walk to main facililities. There is parking for 2 cars on the property and a large garage. A large patio area and attractive garden with stunning hot tub that has spectacular mountain views, & to enjoy the sunny position we have garden table/chairs/parasol and gas barbeque. Each of the 5 bedrooms have their own bathroom. The large open plan lounge/dining room has a very attractive log fire, comfortable leather settees and there is underfloor heating throughout the chalet making it very cosy and warm in the winter. We have many compliments on the very well equipped kitchen & the comfort of this luxury chalet that is prepared ready for your arrival with care.
