Lakeside Mountain Cottages are two free standing and private, self contained cottages situated on the mountainside in the Cape Town suburb of Lakeside on the edge of the Constantia Valley. There is a choice of a 3 bedroom cottage that sleeps 6 or a stunning open plan cabin for 2 guests. The 3 bedroom cottage has exclusive use of a stunning mountainside swimming pool. Both properties are north facing have spectacular views of the Constantia Valley, Table Mountain and right across to False Bay and the Hottentots Holland Mountains.

The Cabin is a beautiful open plan timber cabin elevated high on the mountainside in Cape town's Southern Suburbs. The Cabin has spectacular panoramic views across the Southern side of Cape Town and Table Mountain. The property is spacious and open plan and has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, Lounge area and a king size bed. The bathroom has shower, WC and wash basin. There is a fabulous covered balcony to make the most of the beautiful views.
The cabin is ideal for couples, singles and business visitors alike looking for a peaceful retreat that is within easy reach of Cape Town city center and most of the main attractions that our beautiful city has to offer.
NOTE: The cabin does not have access to the pool.

I grew up in Huntingdon in England, studied at Salford University and worked as a sound engineer in London where I met my South African wife Sam in 2000. We moved to Cape Town in 2003 where we settled just a stones throw away from Sams family home in Lakeside where we run our accommodation business. We have three beautiful children and could not be happier bringing them up in this beautiful city.

We enjoyed every single minute spent in this amazing little house. Watching Cape Town from your terrace or from your bed at dusk is just magnificent. Our holidays were perfect from start to finish. We will be back really really soon.
Well situated perfect for 2 people
We loved our stay at this property. It was a very convenient place to stay and made the touristy places so easy to get to. The cabin had everything you needed and has a great view. Our first visit to south africa loved it!!
A room with a view - and WHAT A VIEW!
This cabin is the perfect bolt-hole for a holiday in the Western Cape. In a secure and quiet location, only a few minutes drive from the end of the M3 which takes you directly into the city, you are in one of the Southern Suburbs, which is also conveniently close to the beach. Everywhere you look is spectacular. The balcony wraps round the side of the property, and the views are immense.
The cabin is well equipped, clean and user friendly, with satellite (DSTV) for the evenings, should you choose to stay in. The bed is comfortable (I was thankful by the end of my 6 week visit), and you can sleep easy knowing you are alarmed, connected to a local security firm.
The pictures don't do the view justice, it's even better! If you can, just once, be up for sunrise. The view from the cabin is something that will stay with you for a long time to come.

“We fell in love with this property for it's spectacular views and great location. Sam grew up just a few doors down on the same road. The cottage is in the suburb of Lakeside which is conveniently located just 25 minutes from the city centre and the airport. Lakeside is highly sought after residential area due to it's extensive amenities and great access to the city centre, beaches, golf courses, wine farms and tourist attractions, not to mention the views! After purchasing the property in 2009 we renovated the cottage adding a 3rd bedroom and the swimming pool in 2012.”
Activity and Interests
Lakeside Mountain Cottages is extremely well located for the many attractions that bring people to the Cape Town area. We are a short drive from the wine farms of Constantia, Table Mountain National Park and 4 major Golf courses (Royal Cape, Steenberg and Clovelly and Westlake Golf club is a 2 min drive). There are stunning views of Table Mountain itself from both cottages, which is only a twenty five minute drive away. The historical sea side towns of Muizenberg, St. James & Kalk Bay are within 5 mins drive where the whale watching is spectacular in spring and early summer(Sept - Nov). The beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens is a 15 min drive. There are several major shopping malls within a few mins of the cottages. There are many restaurants and bars in the surrounding area and there is easy access to the major routes out of Cape Town for trips to the Winelands of Stellenbosch or along our beautiful coastlines to Hermanus or Langabaan.
Golf: There are four fantastic Golf courses within a few minutes drive of the cottage.
Westlake Golf Club (2 mins drive) has excellent facilities and is a great favourite with the tourists. A parkland layout, it is known for its excellent playability throughout the year.
Steenberg Golf Club (5 mins Drive) is a beautiful residential course set on a wine estate. The course is superbly conditioned and attractively laid out with parkland and wetland features.
Clovelly Country Club (10-15 mins drive) is a relatively short course which rewards accuracy off the tee. It is known for its superb greens and magnificent club house.
Royal Cape Golf Club (10-15mins drive) Founded in 1885 this is the oldest Golf course in South Africa. It is again a parkland layout with new, well groomed greens. The course has excellent views of the surrounding mountains and has hosted the SA open 10 times.
