Beautiful place both villa & village
Villa Irene is situated in the wonderful village of Peristona. The village itself has a supermarket (the shopkeeper will get you anything in if you order upfront for the next day), a local bar/tavern which we ate in on both Thursdays (traditional kebabs etc). This was in itself one of the highlights of the holiday. Delicious food and drink with the locals!!
I would say that you are best off with a car as you are rather isolated if you wish to venture out. That said we did book a couple of cabs whilst we were there with no problems. 20 minutes or so from Peristona lies Polis &Lacci. Both seaside towns with plenty of shops, restaurants bars and activities. Polis had a fairly large supermarket for all your grocery shopping needs.
The villa itself, was wonderful. The views were out of this world and probably some of the best views I have ever experienced on holiday. The decor and furnishings were full of character and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and there was nothing we were without. The spacious layout over 3 floors and 5 bedrooms provided more than enough space for two families of 4. The property also had 5 bathrooms, again more than enough.
As you would expect, we spent mist of our time outside. The pool was a good size, shallow one end for the smaller ones and deep enough the other for diving etc!! The pool was constantly clean and I understand was cleaned 3 times a week, very early in the morning. There was an outside wooden covered eating area with a table big enough to sit 12 or more people round. This area also contained a large fridge freezer and sink etc, extremely useful considering we had a bbq every night.
Finally, Michalis who managed the property, was always on hand to discuss and attend to any aspects of the villa and extremely helpful and obliging. The only thing missing I would say was an information pack.
All in all a very enjoyable stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
