About this property

Comfort & Convenience for 2 at Giant's Causeway-SuperKing Bed-WiFi-Wood Stove

Experience the ultimate stress reliever - a get-away for two at Ruby Stove Cottage! Explore by day, relax by night in a cottage designed for two.

We tried to think of everything that would make your stay enjoyable, and guests have always appreciated the details. I think the favorite is the super king bed in the spacious bedroom! A close second is the espresso machine! In the lounge, we've provided wood and firelighters for the wood stove, so no need to pack wood in the boot! And the leather seating reclines so you can put your feet up and enjoy the fire! In the large bathroom you'll enjoy the heated towel rack, and there's plenty of room for your toiletries. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washer-dryer for your clothes. Is there a freezer? YES - fridge/freezer. Check out the photos for more details!

The cottage gives you easy access to 20 miles of gorgeous, scenic coastline. You can explore the stunning North Antrim coast, visit Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle, the Old Bushmills Distillery, and a short drive will take you to the Dark Hedges, or you can travel a little further to the Titanic Museum and the Ulster American Folk Park Museum in Belfast. If you prefer public transport, there is a bus that passes the cottage every two hours year round, and more frequently in the summer.

Want to know more?
Ruby Stove Cottage has a long history of welcoming visitors to the area, with Sally and Mary Browne (my husband's aunts) offering a cup of tea to many passers-by over the years. They would sit on a bench at the front of the house, and chat with the passing neighbors or the summer visitors to the area. In those days, the cottage was known as Tonduff, which is the name of the Townland in which it is located.

The cottage has been in the Browne family since the early 1900's. It had been built many years prior, but as of this writing, no one seems to know exactly how old it is. The Brownes raised a family of five children in the original two-room cottage. Everyone worked together on the farm, and the next generations continue the tradition. Two brothers still have farms on the Causeway Road within a stone's throw of the cottage. It was always a hub of farm life.

Tranquillity at Ruby Stove
A cosy and comfortable wee house, very spacious for two and very well equipped. Very peaceful (aside from an hour or so each morning when the farm across the road comes to life.) Superbly placed for exploring the local area. We had a great time and would definitely return to Ruby Stove if staying on the Causeway Coast.

Irish Delight
Very well stocked and spacious. Bed very comfortable. Everything there regarding instructions. The only slight downside is the lack of outside space.

Northern Ireland Holiday
We absolutely loved staying here at Ruby Stove Cottage. This was our very first visit to Northern Ireland and we had a fantastic time. The cottage was everything and more we could have expected. It's a beautiful cottage in a lovely setting. It's location is perfect for visiting the coast line. Probably only a mile and a quarter to the Giants Causeway and a couple of miles outside of Bushmills. The whole area of the coast is stunning and well worth a visit. It's made that much better when you have a lovely place to stay and Ruby Stove Cottage certainly fits the bill.

I had the joy of sharing many a cup of tea and many a meal with my husband's aunts Sally and Mary in this wee cottage. They were born and raised in this home, and lived here all their lives, entertaining countless visitors, and always welcoming the passing traveler. It has been our pleasure to carry on the tradition of hospitality that was firmly established by them, and by all the Brownes in Tonduff.
