Dear Clients, Allow me to introduce myself!
I am 41 years old, married with two lovely kids.
We are the 4th generation descendants of Gerasimos Markoras and since Poet’s House is in our loving care, we decided to renovate the house in order to preserve the inheritance for the local community. We will be happy to welcome you in my 400 year old village mansion, where my forebear, the Corfiot poet Gerasimos Marcoras (1826-1911) lived and wrote most of his poems.
The Marcora family (Italian Marcoran) is one of the oldest aristocratic families of Corfu, coming from Italy in the middle of the 15th century.
The first Marcoras held the post of knight and family was written in the Libro d’Oro of Corfu, bearing the coat of arms and the title of Count.
poet Gerasimos Marcoras was born In 1826 and he was a student of Dionysios Solomos and partner with Nikolaos Mantzaro.
Our priority is to maintain and expand our clients by offering the best of services. All services can be made available upon request and we will be close to assist you and satisfy your needs. Your satisfaction is and always will be our priority!!! With kindest Regards!!! Takis

What makes this property unique
For hundreds of years, the ground floor was the warehouse of wine, olive oil, potatoes and other agricultural products.
It was the place for the production of grapes from the cultivation of vines that was located in the rest of the free part of the garden of approximately 2,360 sq.m.
Also there was the olive press for the extraction of oils from the privately owned estates of Marcoras.
The first floor apartment of 110.00 square meters was used as a residence and hermitage of the Poet as well as a place to be visited by various friends such as Dionysios Solomos Mantzaros, Iakovos Polylas and various other Solomic poets.
The Marcora Mansion has kept in the best way the cultural heritage of the area with respect to its history, carefully keeping in a special place the coat of arms, its seal, distinctions from kings, titles from the secretariat of the legions, manuscripts, personal belongings of the poet etc. The office of Gerasimos Markoras is located in the same place.
Inside the poet's mansion, the frames and paintings depict not only the history of that time, but also the family tree of the family. The frame with the poet's brother, Spyros, who served as ambassador to Russia, is typical, while his letters to the tsarist government are among the most remarkable relics of the archive.
Next to the two-storey there is a ground floor apartment with an area of 93 square meters and a covered terrace with an area of 10 square meters.
This apartment consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom fully equipped, 1 fully equipped kitchen, a living room.
This ground floor apartment was the place of residence and feeding of the various workers that were necessary for the various works.
