Delightful rural retreat
A lovely old house nestled in the countryside - peaceful and delightful. Lots to do nearby and Supermarche a morning stroll or a few mins away.

A real gem!
We loved the property, the original period details and the antique furniture. But it still has all the conveniences we expected including en-suite to all bedrooms and just so much space! Beautiful setting with lovely walks and a lake nearby where we had a morning swim each day before breakfast. We'll definitely be back.

Quiet and comfortable! Great kitchen with all cooking supplies.
The Farmhouse was just perfect! Decorated beautifully and casual, the beds and linens were so comfortable! ALL our needs were met, wasn't missing a thing. We enjoyed buying our food at LeClerc in Langres with fresh ingredients and cooking at the house, and enjoying our local wines. It was SO QUIET. Enjoyed having BBC on the tv for English speaking tv. Was fascinating driving thru the little towns and we explored Beaune and Dijon. Thank you!!

A lovely old property full of original features set in beautiful countryside
We had a super time the property is quirky with big rooms and very well equipped. It has been restored very sympathetically and is full of original features. The area is beautiful, the countryside is stunning with lots of interesting places to go and explore. We particularly enjoyed visiting Troyes and Beaune, which are just over an hour to get to, there is also plenty to do nearby, lots of walks, the lake which you can walk round and various water sports to try too.

Spacious full of character property
Wonderful home away from home. Spacious property with lots of character and everything we needed to relax and live comfortably in for the duration of our stay. Perfectly located in a very quiet village and close to local supermarket etc with easy access to main roads to many local towns, cities and activities.

About the host

How did we two Aussies end up with a home in France? Let alone in the little known Haute-Marne? It’s a dream really!

Imagine an impossibly sunny Saturday morning in June, with us in our hire car navigating through increasingly smaller, and more isolated roads to find what will soon be our new home.

As towns are left behind and lanes appear, we are quietly getting more and more excited at the approach of our destination. We have been hunting for over two years with little success and many dislocated expectations up to now, so still trying to keep a poker face.

As heartbeats increase, we cross the tiny bridge into the hameau and make a sharp right at the rose-covered stone walls of the manoir that links our property. The small gravel lane passes chickens and ends in a massive tilleul tree amid green, green grass.

Ahead, more green on a hillside bare except for grazing white Charolais cattle and a smattering of prune and walnut trees. Above, it is topped with thick woods.

Poker is forgotten as our eyes now turn to what will be our very own slice of France .. the farmhouse walls are mobbed with roses of blood red and mixed shades of pink. Wisteria tumbles in a purple haze above. A grape vine we later learn is 100 years old climbs up, up and around the stone façade.

We are in love before we even step inside to find décor to dream of .. downstairs with stone floors worn smooth by centuries of feet, light pouring in through windows thrown wide to let in bumble bees and petals, antique yet comfy furniture, soft furnishings of heavy linen, not one but three ensuite bedrooms with satisfyingly modern fittings and more and more .. oh my .. we are in heaven!

We grabbed and hold this beautiful property in our hearts. May you also experience the joy it gives us when you visit!

Bienvenue!
