Located in superb location, the sandy beach of La Mata 30 km from Alicante and Murcia airports. Very luminous and sunny apartment in a well maintained residence with a spacious free swimming pool. Gorgeous park round the corner and great boardwalk at the beach. Plenty of restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood and beach, supermarkets within walking distance (350 m) weekly open market at La Mata village.
Car not indispensable. Transfer from the airport available upon request. Eur 40 each way.
The apartment is fit for up to 4 people, ideally 2 adults and 2 children or 1 child and 1 baby. (baby cot and chair available). It is furnished in an elegant yet modern style. New white goods of which an AEG 8 kilo washing machine, Bosch dishwasher, and a roomy fridge with freezer. 2 TV, of which 1 new Sony smart TV and TV in bedroom. The place is very bright and sunny but if you prefer to avoid the sun the living room and bedroom have new stores. It has 2 air condition and 4 fans, should you prefer the latter. The kitchen is separated from the living room. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower. The broom vacuum cleaner is very light and practical. The free swimming pool and solarium are very nice. ! No need to buy or rent a beach umbrella and chairs: available at the apartment. In the neighbourhood you will find plenty of restaurants of which two just opposite the appartment. Along the beach there are also bars and restaurants which also open after beach hours. Two supermarkets at walking distance. 5' by car to Habaneras shopping centre and big supermarket Carrefour. Don't miss the open-air local market on Wednesdays if you like to buy fresh fruit and vegetables at cheaper prices. 5-10 min by car from two large salt lakes, the Park natural de La Mata, great for walks, cycling and picnics. The city center of Torrevieja and its waterfront also deserves a visit. It is hard to talk about La Mata without mentioning the excellent beaches, without doubt, some of the best beaches in Spain. The beaches in La Mata have held the European Blue Flag for several years for cleanliness, water quality and safety. Biking, horse-riding, golf, fishing, water sports, kayak available in the region. Within a few minutes by car is La Zenia Boulevard, the largest shopping centre in the province of Alicante with its streets, squares, fountains, free daily concerts and exciting events. More than 150 shops and a free health and fitness park, where you can exercise. Visit also Parque de las Naciones with its ponds, swans and ducks in Torrevieja. If you feel like driving South in an hour you reach the Manga del Mar Menor in Costa Cálida which is worth seeing though the beaches are not like those in La Mata.
Acces from Alicante airport by car: by the N-332 road. Follow indications to Santa Pola and then to Torrevieja straight on to La Mata.
Transports. Bus from Alicante airport: at the arrivals turn right towards rent-a-car and follow indications to bus to Torrevieja. At the Torrevieja bus station change to the A bus to La Mata and get off at "Centro de Salud de La Mata" stop.

Huge disappointment
Our stay in Torrevieja was a huge disappointment. The apartment is being advertised as “Beautiful newly refurbished” which is a complete lie, everything in this place is old, dated or broken and dirty, we complained about the first day, and the owner basically ignored it. The kitchen doesn’t have a matching set of dishes, the drawer with silverware is nasty (we didn’t even use it), the bath towels looked like floor rags, washed out and old (we bought new ones at Carrefour to use). Basically, we went there and started our vacation by cleaning this place, so we wouldn’t be too disgusted to use it. On top of everything, the air-conditioning was broken, the owner called for technicians who came the next evening (17:00), they told Alexandrea it was too old and beyond repair. They left and the owner advised us to use fans instead. That was unacceptable to me and we left the next day to a hotel. Even though the place was nasty dirty and we cleaned it for ourselves, the owner still refused to reimburse us for cleaning. By the way, in her rules, the owner asks you to clean the apartment upon departure, and the cleaning charge is for washing towels and changing sheets, this practice is unacceptable because the place is only as clean as the previous occupant leaves it for the next one. Description “Very luminous and sunny” is another lie, the place has the balcony enclosed and converted into a living space. We had to leave the shutters down to prevent sunlight from heating the apartment up, maybe if the AC worked you could leave the one on the right window up but if you had the left side up you could step over on to the neighbor's balcony. It didn't feel very private with the shutters up. Truly, this is a studio apartment that has been chopped up and made into 2 tiny bedrooms (one without a window) and tiny living space. The owner either needs to take pictures that represent how it really looks today and reflect it's true condition more accurately in the description or bring the apartment back up to "freshly refurbished standards" No off-street parking. On the positive side, the location is pretty good (street view) and 2 restaurants nearby were excellent. I don’t know who wrote the 5-star reviews… and why?

Very close to the sea, yet calm and near green areas. Not overcrowded even in August.

What makes this property unique

New appliances and modern furniture in the apartment as very recently refurbished.
Close to the beach and beautiful park with fish and turtle ponds, pines and other trees which cool the air. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, supermarkets (small ones) pharmacy, hairdresser, medical care, bus, etc.
Beach never too crowded as others during high season. -Green residencial and safe neighborhood.
