Beside the barbecue near the pergola is the place ideal for fun cooking session.

- Dracula's Castle from Bran, the medieval citadel of Sighisoara, Brasov and Sibiu reachable in a one day trip with the car

The salt lakes from Turda are waiting for you to swim. You can visit Turda Salt mine, you can hike or climb in Turzii Gorges, visit Scarisoara Glacier, having a traditional meal in one of the country in from "Motilor Land" on the Aries Valey.

The house is situated on a mountains 500 meters away from the road on which traffic is an exception. You can hear the river Aries roaring and you can hear the birds singing in the forest that surround the house.

Amazing place, worth every penny!
I've rarely experienced hospitality as this, period. And, I've traveled to many parts of the world and all over the US, renting homes and staying at resorts such as Four Seasons and St Regis. The owners, Alin and Hertha, were there to meet us upon arrival and welcomed us with open arms. It is hard to go over everything that they arranged for us to make our stay so comfortable as we were there to shoot a film documentary and needed a quiet, more remote place to stay to unwind each day. Beautiful home and an amazing view in this beautiful area. We rented a home but received so much more. They arranged the rental for our Mercedes Sprinter van for our crew, secured press passes for us with the Untold Music Festival, arranged for a keg of Guinness and Ursus beers to be on the property when we arrived, had food/drink in the home for us to get us started, lined up an authentic chef to cook our crew dinners with authentic Romanian dishes, and so on and so forth. We rented the home and not only was the property fantastic but they did so much more for us outside the rental of the home that is was hard to believe we'd receive so much help when we really only expected to rent their beautiful home. As the chaperone of five film students making a grueling 10-day shoot for a documentary, this greatly helped me achieve all the goals we needed to hit and Alin and Hertha were instrumental in making this happen. We couldn't have done it without them, at least, not nearly as good. For anyone wishing to visit Romania, which I highly recommend, this is the place for this area. Alin and Hertha were absolutely fantastic people and shows that we all may live in different countries with different cultures, but, we are all brothers and sisters on this earth to help each other and they proved me right. Highly, highly recommend this place for its beauty, location, and above all, the true beauty shown to us of help and kindness from Alin and Hertha. Go visit Romania and stay here, you won't be disappointed!!!!

About the host

Host profile image
After more than 20 years in travel industry, having our own travel agency, specialized in Transylvania we decided to live our dream and move a traditional Transylvanian house built in Maramures on a land that we have in Sunset Mountains. The first floor is restored in the traditional Romanian style; in the huge attic there are 4 modern rooms disposed on 2 floors.

Why they chose this property

You will stay in the middle of Transylvania. You can reach in a one day trip Bran Castle (aka Dracula Castle), Brasov, Sibiu and Sighisoara Citadel; in another day you can make a trip to Bistrita and have dinner at Dracula Restaurant from Borgo Pass and make a visit to the Merry Cemetery from Sapanta; another day for a visit in Sunset Mountains to see the Glacier Scarisoara and the Bear Cave and to taste a "Balmosh"; one day for a short trip to Turda to visit the famous Salt Mine and if is hot outside to swim in the salt lakes near by or to ride a horse there. For an adventure you can rent a motorcycle from Turda, book a rafting trip on Aries river, fly over the area with an airplane or rent a 4x4 vehicle to inspect the mountains

What makes this property unique

You can sit on the porch and hear the river roaring and the birds singing or you can have a cooking session in the barbeque area.
