About this property

Glacier National Park 30 Minutes Away

Sightseeing and activities are easy from the cabin. From the moment you turn onto the private road leading to The Cabin, through the grass scattered with Ponderosa Pines and the forest of Lodgepole and Tamaracks, you will feel the peace and tranquility you are about to experience during your stay. The Cabin is situated just a little up from the shore of Lake Blaine in a natural setting of trees. It is one 'Great Room': A sitting area with a couch and chairs; a DVD player for watching movies and a radio/CD player; a bedroom area with queen size bed, four pillows, wall-mounted reading lamps and bedside tables; a fully equipped kitchen with table and chairs; and, of course, a private bathroom complete with towels, shampoo and shower gels; and, a deck with table and chairs and lounge chairs for your relaxation. Sun bathe on the dock or lakeshore.

Swim, snorkel, or walk the trails through the woods on this 13 acre property where deer, fox, wild turkeys, eagles and owls are often seen. You may want to just 'kick-back at The Cabin or use it as a base for your Montana vacation. Glacier Park is only a 30 minute drive from The Cabin; 20 minutes to the quaint town of Bigfork; about 40 minutes to Whitefish Mountain Resort; and Kalispell, a mere 15 minutes away; and, only a 5 minute drive from The Cabin is a a service station with a restaurant, bar and deli for coffee, great sandwiches and ice cream; and, a 9-hole golf course with a restaurant. The Cabin is closed up for the winter, but available for your vacation rental from the middle of May thru the middle of September.

Lake Blaine Vacation
The cabin is lovely. We loved our lake and Mountain View from our cabin and enjoyed the quiet and calmness the place had to offer. Sue is a wonderful hostess and very kind. She made our MT trip a 10/10!

What a beautiful spot to relax.
This property is awesome. Right on the lake and so pretty to wake up in the woods and hear the gentle waves. Sure, was a great host, checking was easy and accommodating. We enjoyed going down to the water at night and watching the bats, watching the deer in the morning eating plants. This was a very peaceful and great experience.

We moved to Montana because my artist husband fell in love with the landscape during a business trip here in the early 1970's. We were from the Chicago area where we had established the Village Art School in Skokie. We decided to vacation in Montana the following summer. We loved Montana and it was at that time that we purchased our 13 acre property and then a couple of years later were able to add the cabin and another half acre. We already had a home on the property but wanted this cabin for my husband's art/painting studio. You may have heard of him, as he did become a very well-known, award-winning artist. Joe passed away in 2005. During the summer of 2012, I remodeled the studio and now offer it to travelers as a vacation rental.

Why they chose this property

We walked down the path through the 13 wooded acres, sun shining, a warm, beautiful day, and came to the lake. That was it! We had to have this piece of heaven! We were lucky. It had not been on the market, it was shown to us by the owner, a friend of a friend of ours. I love Montana, will never leave, and am certain that you will love it, too.

What makes this property unique

Walking down a wooded trail, and then the lake comes into view, with mountains to the north and east…does it get any better! We had found our ' paradise'. That was in 1976, 45 years ago. As happens over time, an area grows. But, we still have our piece of paradise, a getaway where we can enjoy the serenity of our lake-front property, walk the trails or kick-back with a good book on the deck or lakeshore. And, the sunsets are soooo beautiful!
