About this property

Villa relax and pool Tivoli e Roma

Spectacular residence overlooking Rome and Tivoli located on the ruins of the Villa of Quintilio Varo, (leader of Augusto Imperatore who lived 2000 years ago) In the heart of nature, relaxing and pleasant, yet at the same time only 30 minutes from Rome, 10 minutes from Villa di Adriano, Villa d'Este, Villa Gregoriana and the Republican temples of Sibilla and Vesta. And for your pleasure at 5 'the Terme di Tivoli with the sulphurous thermal waters, or the Marco Simone Golf club at 20', or skiing at 45 'or the sea at 60'. Quiet walks await you in the city center of Tivoli to discover a village through more than 2000 years of history while tasting excellent wine and real Italian cuisine.
In a large garden (5000 sqm) with lawn, flowers, citrus fruits and fabulous centuries-old olive trees there are the main villa and the guest house, both on the sides of a large swimming pool (120 sqm) which is the heart of life in the garden. Ì our little 2 dogs. 4 cats, many hens and 2 ducks complete the peaceful and relaxing image. In addition, you can also enjoy long walks in our olive grove (70000q) in the company of 6 small donkeys, jog or mountain bike, or meditate in front of the Vatican dome or have a bbq on the edge of our pond full of colorful fish overlooking Rome and Tivoli. You can also bring your pets with you, but contact us first. You will have maximum independence and all our support to make you feel at home. Contact us also for children's offers.

Wonderful villa
Fantastic villa with gorgeous pool and grounds. Really enjoyed our stay here, easy to get to from the airport, near a lovely supermarket and was a beautiful location. Thank you for your hospitality.

Warmly Recommended
We had a thoroughly enjoyable one-week stay at the property during July. Lillina and Agostino are delightful and attentive hosts, concerned to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of their guests at all times. The apartment more than adequately catered for the two of us, while the pool is a delightful place to cool off in after days exploring Tivoli and the wider area. Rome is easily accessible by train, while local attractions such as the Villa d’Est, the Villa Gregoriana and Hadrian’s Villa are all well worth visiting. All in all, we can warmly recommend this as a place to holiday.

Great villa in idyllic setting
We had a lovely week in this villa and couldn't have wished for anywhere better to stay. The villa itself was spacious and clean and set in lovely grounds. The pool was excellent although a little chilly in May, but we still went in on the hotter days. It is a short drive to Tivoli itself - a lovely old town with the amazing Villa D'este and Villa Adriana (both featured in Monty Don's Italian Gardens DVD), as well as Villa Gregoriana. Rome is just a train ride away and Herculaneum and Pompeii a couple of hours drive. We would recommend this villa to anyone seeking a safe, relaxing and calm holiday in delightful surroundings. A special mention for Lillina, our host, who looked after us so well and cooked us a lovely meal on our last night, which turned out to be our best evening during our week's holiday.

A great way to visit Rome and Tivoli!
We have just spent a wonderful week in this apartment in Tivoli. The cottage you rent is an independent house behind the swimming pool with one bedroom, a large living room and a nice bathroom/ kitchen. There is a nice private terrace where you can eat, in front of the cottage. There is also a private parking spot for your car. The house was clean, there were plenty of towels and the bed was very good. The owner is a very nice lady who really makes you feel at home and is very helpful. She gave us fresh eggs and tomatoes and lettuce from the garden and in the house everything needed for breakfast and coffee etc was waiting for us (for free!). The attraction to us was that we could visit Tivoli (Villa d’Este, Villa Gregoriana and the Villa of Hadrian) and Rome and then return to this oasis and relax near the swimming pool, while enjoying the views of Tivoli and Rome. The swimming pool is large and very well looked after (very clean!). The last years we visited Rome and usually stay in an apartment in the city, but we were a bit tired of the crowds and the heat. This villa is a wonderful alternative to an apartment in Rome. We didn’t find the driving near the property difficult. If you leave the gate of this property and turn left you reach Tivoli in 5 minutes and if you turn right, you can visit the villa of Hadrian and Rome. Of course a train trip to Rome is more practical due to parking problems in Rome. A special attraction to those who love antiquities and archaeology is that the villa of Quintilio Varo is partly on the grounds of this property and the owner can inform you about this villa. You can take a walk in the large garden of this villa and really feel like you’re on historical grounds. We truly enjoyed our stay in this property and will hopefully return here.

a wonderful holiday
we had the most wonderful holiday staying with Illina who was the perfect host. The accomadation is completely self contained with its own delightful veranda overlooking the contryside with Rome in the distance. the pool is a good size a lovely place to relax. The extensive grounds are beautiful and run into the hilly olive grove with a small but picturesque pond just above the house.Tivoli itself has much to offer and the world famous Villa D'Este is an absolute must to see. Villa Adriana, just outside Tivoli is a step back into the past and provides an interesting, enjoyable day out revealing beautiful grounds and extensive archaelogical ruins that are remarkable for their preserved condition. Villa Gregriana , which is very close by, takes you through a strikingly tranquil wooded area and the famous water fall, that was built by Pope Gregory to take the flood water away from the town. At the exit there is a very good restaurant offering quality Italian food and superb service. Overall, we can highly reccomend both Tivoli as destination, andVilla Montanna as a haven of peaceful tranquility. wWe hope that you enjoy your stay as much as we did. Diane and Michael
