About this property

Summary:
This house is full of character and is conveniently located 2 miles from Downtown and 1 mile from WakeMed Hospital. Home is nestled in a quiet and walkable neighborhood. This 1947 beauty sits on a 3/4 acre lot with beautiful, mature crepe myrtle and magnolia trees there is plenty of room in the yard to play.

Our rules regarding pets: we happily allow up to two dogs but do have a pet fee of $100

The Space:
This large and historic charming cottage has fully updated bathrooms with custom tile work. The home is eclectically decorated by film enthusiasts. The upstairs bedroom at the top of the stairs is lofted as it does not have a door but it has a full bathroom with shower. The bedroom on the other side of the stairs with the 2 twin beds does have it's own door.

Guest Access:
Guest's have access to the entire home, front and back yard and parking space for up to 5 cars. if for any reason guests were to need more parking space, please check with the host as additional parking is accessible. The owner's do have two closets that are locked and the garage stays locked as well.

The Neighborhood:
The Charming Craftman Cottage is located in the King Charles neighborhood in downtown Raleigh. We are minutes from The Alamo Drafthouse and Movie Theater, multiple restaurants, shopping areas and grocery stores.

Other Things to Note:
Linens and towels provide for 8 guests and 5 beds.

The house has been decorated by a film enthusiast which is reflected in some of the art work and posters. The art work is eclectic and not to everyone’s tastes.

Host will give guests their privacy but be available if needed by messaging and phone.

GREAT SPOT for Raleigh Downtown visit

Had a family reunion with members who live in the Raleigh area. The house accomodated our party of 6 with a dog. We met at this Lord Berkley location and traveled to nearby destinations and the Marbles Museum. All was very convenient. The property is an older home, but nicely renovated, very charming and adequate for a family stay. Highly recommend. Note: There is a children's playset pictured in the backyard, but it actually belongs to a neighbor, is not on this property.

Owner overcame obstacles

When we arrived, the housekeeper was still cleaning because previous guests had made a mess. Molly worked with us to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. The property is older and lacks some of the “luxury” features of more expensive houses but it was clean enough. Don’t go in expecting a hotel level of service. Was the house absolutely spotless? No. It has seen some wear and tear so there is going to be some dust in the corners and under the heaters. We went in with that expectation, which is why I gave it 5 stars. The kitchen is a bit cramped but had everything we needed for our stay.

Working stay

This place was perfect for our stay. There was plenty of room for my employees. The location was great. Overall the house was just what we needed. We also needed to extended our stay twice and they were very accommodating with quick reply's when I emailed them.
