The property has stunning views of the mountains surrounding the town of Luz Saint Sauveur, sleeps an impressive 14 people and is only five minutes walk from Tour de France route and local bars and restaurants.

Overview : La Petite Maison des Montagnes is a charming holiday home in the heart of the Hautes-Pyrenees department. Boasting exceptional panoramic views of the mountains surrounding the medieval town of Luz Saint Sauveur it sleeps an impressive 14 people. Immediately next door lies the entrance to the Maison du Parc National et de la Vallee. The house is only five minutes walk from the Tour de France route and central bars and restaurants.

Landscapes, legends and nature all combine to form this genuine mountain village in the beating heart of the Haute-Pyrenees. From here the mountains extend as far as the eye can see in all directions, with Luz situated at an altitude of 711m in one of the most beautiful valleys.

You can enjoy the unique historical nature of the village by visiting the church of Saint Andre, the Napleonic bridge, the castle of Santa Maria or the relaxing Luzea Spa. For a more gastronomic experience the best time to get to know Luz is Monday morning on market day.

Ground Floor: This superb newly refurbished house offers modern facilities whilst still retaining many of its traditional features. The house dates back to 1823.

The newly fitted kitchen includes a range oven and gas/ceramic hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and of course a teapot! There is room for 12 people to dine in comfort and the kitchen opens directly onto 'Petite Cour' - a paved courtyard area with a barbecue and table and chairs.

There is also a utility room with an extra fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and iron and ironing board.

The lounge has comfortable seating for at least 12 with a sofa bed increasing the property to 'sleeps 14'. There is a TV, DVD and CD players and a games area. It is heated by a log burning stove.

Stairs from the ground floor lead to the first floor via a small landing where there is a separate WC.

First Floor & Grenier (Attic): The first floor offers 3 bedrooms with a newly fitted bathroom with bath and shower and Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds that can be joined to make a king size bed.

There is also a first floor entrance area (this access is also at ground level higher up the slope) which is ideal for storing bikes, ski equipment and walking boots etc.

It also has a 'cosy corner' - with a small wood burning stove - maps, reference books and a computer with internet access.

Stairs lead from the first floor up to a large family room with 1 double and 4 single beds with an en-suite bathroom. A small balcony offers views of the surrounding mountains as well as the village and nearby Templar Church.

I'm writing to let you know how much we appreciatedLa Petite Maison in Luz St Sauveur this week-end. The children loved their attic eyrie, and everyone commented on how beautifully and sensitively the house has been restored, furnished and decorated - a rare enough thing for a French rural gite! Home from home - we will certainly be back, Best Louise

Great holiday house

  • 5 of 5

The fact that this was our sixth holiday in La Petite Maison says it all. The house has suited us very well over the past few years, and is ideal for two or three families. The children love the huge attic bedroom and the house is plenty big enough for everyone to find somewhere to relax after a day on the slopes. We particularly love the big kitchen, which is well equipped, and the comfy beds with their good quality bed linen. Thank you for having us and we hope to visit again!

Great times

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house and would highly recommend. Quality throughout with lovely log burner in lounge, proper kitchen chefs delight with range and all the equipment you could ever need ,plenty of room for everyone to sit comfotably around beautiful table. Extremely comfortable beds and quality linen. Great kids room in attic. The town of Luz St Saveur is beautiful with lots of bars and restaurants.

We run our own gite business and really appreciated the quality and attention to detail. Will be re booking for next year

Typical French Experience in an Ideal Location

  • 5 of 5

The perfect location both property and town to experience a French holiday. The house set in a quiet square with no main through traffic yet numerous townsfolk walking the dog or collecting baguettes to practice your French with. The main centre of the town is only 5 mins walk with all the amenities you will want for day to day living and also all holiday pastimes you could possibly think of. The house is very spacious, clean, and is ideal for large groups as well as small due to the size of the communal areas such as 'log fired lounge' and well equipped kitchen. The surrounding area is simply stunning whatever your outdoor activity may be, mountains, valleys, rivers, or visiting historic sites. During our visit we ski, snow shoe, and summited a few low snow covered peaks. Additionally we had an evening at a small bowling alley in the town which proved to be good fun. There are numerous restaurants, bars and typical French shops and yet the 'villigy' atmosphere seems to have been maintained. During our week we used three different ski resorts which catered for all abilities and were set in some magnificent scenery. Would I return? yes most definitely!

superbe

  • 5 of 5
