Modern spacious well equipped apartment with south facing balcony., Television and selection of DVDs & WIFI . Close to Alto and Penina golf. Restaurants and local shop within 2 minute walk. 10 minute walk from beach and centre of Alvor. Large private mature gardens with gated entry and 2 pools, largest private pool in the Algarve and smaller children's pool with children's play area away from the main pool. Pool open from April-October.

Reserved underground parking space. Apartment located on ground floor but balcony raised from the garden area. Well equipped apartment kitchen dining area includes hob, oven, extractor, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, cafetiere, iron and ironing board, good supply of utensils and crockery etc.

Lounge area has 2 seater sofa that converts to 1 double or 2 single beds. Lounge area, TV, DVD, iPod docking station. Hair dryer, books and games, clothes airer available. Air con and heating. South facing furnished patio.

Car hire useful but not essential.

Fabulous complex with large gardens and pool. Gardens area 5 acres private and gated. 2 large pools 1 adult and 1 children. Swim up snack bar. Serving snacks and drinks. On street and enclosed designated parking space. Lift from car park. Apartment situated on ground floor, balcony is raised approx 10 ft from the ground v secure. Balcony accessible through glass sliding door from the living room, timber patio furniture provided. Access from front of building not accessible by wheelchair but access available from underground car park with lift. The balcony is south west facing with sunshine all day and glimpse of a sea view. Fobs/passes provided for pool. Pool season April-October

Nice apartment in lovely complex within easy walking distance of Alvor

The apartment is within a lovely clean and well kept complex with a beautiful pool area. The apartment was spotlessly clean and comfortable with everything you would need for a self catering holiday. I don't think I have ever slept so well. The beds were really comfortable and the black out on the curtains kept the light out so we could have a good nights sleep and during the day they kept the heat of the sun out of the bedroom so it was cool at night. Neither of us are fans of air conditioning so when we stayed in May it was a bonus to be able to keep the bedroom cool. The balcony did not get a lot of sun but with a beautiful pool area this wasn't an issue for us. A great base for Alvor and beyond. We will definitely be looking to book this apartment again.

Well equipped apartment with access to communal swimming pool

Enjoyed the stay but found the apartment wasn't as close to the beach as we thought it was tried a couple of routes and realistically it can take anything from 25 to 35 minutes on foot and that is walking at a reasonable pace. The cleaning of the apartment wasn't up to standard and had been left in a mess by the previous occupants but I believe there is a new cleaner in place so hopefully this should be resolved for future holiday makers. The photo of the apartment suggests you have a view but this isn't the case as the wall on the balcony is higher than the actual seatiing and you are looking out onto the back gardens may be a plus for some but we like a view. We stayed for 10 days so would have liked a change of sheets left for us but this wasn't the case we overcame this by making use of the washing machine which helped resolve the issue. The Wifi has to be bought via a top up card so didn't make use of this again this wasn't clear on the overview of the apartment. Overall we enjoyed the stay and hope the owner welcomes the feedback

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your feedback. There is a shortcut to the beach which you may not have been aware of there is a back road down along the back of block 9 which shortens the walk to the beach significantly. I can only apologise for the cleaning of the apartment not "being up to standard" your review was the first I heard about the previous guests leaving the apartment in "a mess" as I live in Ireland and relay on the services of an English lady living locally to clean the apartment between guests. If you had made me aware on arrival that the cleaning wasn't up to scratch I could have contacted her and requested it be cleaned again, unfortunately unless these issues are brought to my attention there are outside my control. I am surprised that you are aware that there is a new cleaner in place but indeed as of the 4th of September we will have a new cleaner and I’m sure going forward that the apartment will be thoroughly cleaned between occupants. Yes, there is a concrete wall for a balcony and unfortunately there is nothing I can do about this, much as I would like to, given that I am 5ft 2, but we are not permitted to make structural changes to the exterior of the building. I am not sure if you are aware of the set up in Vila Marachique each apartment is individually owned and serviced, and those apartments that are let are let on a self-catering basis, it is not an aparthotel set up, where all the apartments have the same owner. Some of our previous guests have requested a cleaning service or linen change and I have arranged this with the cleaner at their request in advance, unfortunately unless these requests are brought to my attention in advance of guest’s arrival or during their stay there is very little I can do in retrospect if guests have already left. Yes, the WIFI is provided by a 4G ready to go dongle, which needs to be topped up as needed, the advantage of this is that guests can take the dongle with them and have 4G wherever they go, unfortunately at the moment given the short duration of the rental season in Portugal this is the only feasible option as it is not possible to get internet services on a month by month basis, but this is something we review regularly and as soon as a better option becomes available it will be installed. I am glad you enjoyed your holiday and your feedback has been taken on board, in future I will ask guests to inform me of any short comings as they arise so that they can be dealt with in a prompt manner.

Peaceful surroundings

My husband and I visit portugal 3 times a year and this was our first visit to this apartment. We had a great time as the apartment is fully equipped and in a great location. We both have hetic lifestyles at home so it was lovely to have the peace and quiet at this apartment. We hire a car and travel around the Algarve so again great base. The apartment was clean and tidy with everything you may need, beautiful gardens and pool, car park and peaceful surroundings but 5 minutes from alvor and it's shops,restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend this apartment for couples and families as it's equipped for everyone.

Great property very central location

Really lovely apartment very well equipped with everything you need. Location was great. Only downside was no AC in bedroom which was a bit disappointing as weather was very hot at night otherwise would definitely recommend staying here.

Avery pleasant apartment

On our arrival the apartment was very clean. It is well equipped and comfortable. It's location within the complex makes access to the fantastic pool area very easy. There is no shortage of sun loungers around the pool. Likewise there is also plenty of shaded areas around the well kept lawn.

All in all a very pleasant apartment in a nice complex.

Alvor offers a wide choice of beaches, restaurants and activities. The harbour and estuary is a wildlife area with boat trips and fishing trips available. Easy access to long sandy beaches for walking, spectacular coves and dunes.

Alvor has a wide variety of restaurants including Portuges, Indian, Italian, Chinese and a number of speciality fish restaurants. Good night life in high season, livelier night life in Portimao 3 km away. Portimao is accessible with a regular bus service. Rail service available from Portimao.

By car Lago, Silves and Monchique are within easy reach for hiking etc. Visitor attractions include: Aqualand, Zoomarine, Shopping Algarve, Sand sculptures at Pera. Nearby shopping areas and marinas include, Lagos, Portimao and Albufeira. Excellent golfing facilities include Alto Golf and Penina Golf.
