About Rodney and Lesley Steel

My wife and I grew up in Paris, and we are now working in Reims. We both lived and worked abroad, and our kids were born in Florence, Italy. We enjoy outdoor activites, and Pommard is perfect for a familly break, have a nice walk in the wineyards and enjoy an excellent glass when you're done.

Why Rodney and Lesley Steel chose Beaune area

I moved from Japan in 2005 to work in the oil & gas industry in Burgundy (yes, it's possible !), but really wanted to find a place I could finally call home after many years abroad. I found in love with Pommard. The apartment reflects all the trips my family international exposure. It's probably unique in Pommard, and you'll stay in a place with artifacts from Cameroun, Japan, New Caledonia, China, Indonesia matching the typical burgundy style construction.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is situated just in front of the Pommard castle; you can go there in a minute. The place was entirely refurbished in 2005 in a very good taste, keeping the ancient structure. The walls are made of stones, and the curved timbers were used on boats more than 200 years ago. All guests we have received so far have enjoyed staying at Pommard.

Large beautifully furnished Lounge with Satellite TV, DVD, CD player and broadband Internet, sofa, coffee table, desk, 2 sideboards and 3 chairs. TV has English and French channels plus a selection of other languages. Staircase leading to the first floor. Small staircase leading to the kitchen. Fully stocked kitchen with multifunction oven, electric hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine/dryer, microwave, dining table and 4 chairs. There is a secure entrance to Le Clos de Pommard which is just a few steps from the private gated parking area where there is reserved space for one car. Additional parking, if required, is available in the quiet lanes around Clos de Pommard or in the village square a few minutes walk away.

Great find in wine country

Large space, good kitchen with big windows, very quiet village with an amazing restaurant Aupres du Cloche top quality dining, super service, do not rush your meal, great wine list.

Pommard Chateau is a good visit and tour / tasting, fabulous history.

Wonderful property and location. Enjoyed touring the area and visiting historic sites and towns

Beautiful and well-appointed apartment. Unfortunately the weather was unusually hot for this time period in late August. Since there are no air conditioners in the bedrooms, we were forced to sleep in the downstairs area and bought an extra fan to survive the nights. At this price point for this rental property, we strongly suggest that the owner invest in two air conditioners for the upstairs bedrooms, and only then would we consider returning here in the future.

I'm taking your point about air-conditioning but in the last 8 years that I have been renting out the apartment the fans provided appear to have been sufficient to cope with the temperatures experienced. It is unfortunate you did not contact my property manager about your problem as he is normally very responsive to guest's needs and I am sure he would have been able to assist you. Fantastic! Great quiet location in the center of Pommard.Comfortable bed and all the ammeneties.

Fantastic. But be aware the bathroom on second level and bedrooms at third level if that matters to anyone.

We loved this apartment and plan on returning next year.

Great Space in a very nice location

Property is as advertised, very spacious bright and clean. Overall rating is 5 but a couple of minor improvements would be great.

Location is very convenient and secure. This is a perfect place to cycle out of for numerous rides.

Recommendations:

1) Espresso maker is badly needed as the coffee maker is not quality. You will not find a good coffee in Pommard and did not find one in Beaune.

2) As this area is a foodie's heaven a few more cooking utensils would be very much appreciated - salad spinner, cheese slicer, etc...

3) Common outdoor area could use a charcoal grill

Wunderschöne Wohnung

Über Auffahrt haben wir ein paar traumhafte Tage in "Les Epenots, Clos de Pommard" verbracht. Sowohl die Online-Reservierung, die Kontaktaufnahme mit dem Besitzer und abcbourgogne, die Zahlungsmodalitäten sowie die Anfahrtsbeschreibung inkl. Instruktionen über die Key-Box waren professionell.

Die 2-stöckige Wohnung ist wunderschön und liebevoll eingerichtet mit vielen persönlichen Gegenständen der Besitzer, grosse Zimmer, eine lichtdurchflutete Küche, sämtliche Apparate wie Backofen, Toaster, Geschirrspül- und Waschmaschine sowie Mikrowelle vorhanden. Das Apartment war sehr sauber.

Wir würden diese Wohnung jederzeit weiter empfehlen.

Vielen Dank an die Besitzer, dass sie ihre Wohnung anderen Leuten zur Verfügung stellen. Wir haben es sehr genossen.
