Calpe is a beautiful resort located on the Costa Blanca. It is a very popular holiday destination for many Europeans, including many Spanish holiday makers. Calpe is a beautiful and easily accessible town with everything within easy reach whether you want to hire a car and explore surrounding areas, or discover Calpe on foot. Just 45 minutes from Alicante Airport, and 70 minutes from Valencia. Close to beautiful neighbouring towns like Altea and Moiraire too, as well as all the theme and water parks just outside of Benidorm.

Things to do: There are lots of restaurants within the Calpe area including the town, the port and along the two main beach areas of Playa la Fossa and Playa Cantal Roig. There is a wide and varied choice from traditional Spanish, Indian, Tapas, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Swiss, Mexican and others I am sure. Here’s a sample of some tried and tested ones.

Water Park, Marine Park, Roller Coasters and Wildlife! Something for everyone all conveniently located about a 20 minute drive from apartment.

There are boat trips from the harbour to Benidorm along with sailing lessons and other water sports.

There is a little train which takes tourists on a scenic ride between the two main beaches. Approx 5 euros per person, (please check on pricing).

Finestrat - La Marina Shopping Centre - 15 minutes drive.

La Marina shopping centre is the leading centre for shopping, leisure and eating in the area of La Marina Baixa. Located in Finestrat, it is very close to the towns of Benidorm and Villajoyosa.

How to get there: It is recommended that you hire a car for your stay in Calpe, however we are able to arrange airport transfers upon request. (Typical private transfer from Alicante 60 Euro each way and 90 Euro from Valencia each way)

We recommend Solmar car rental as it’s what we use when we visit it has an office within the airport along with car pick up and drop off.

There were many positive aspects to the apartment including lovely big balcony, ample wardrobe space and plenty of crockery and utensils, and location wise it couldn’t have been better. The pool was spotless with enough sunbeds for everyone and the cleanliness in general was excellent. We are very sad to be home and enjoyed Calpe immensely especially the trip to the waterfalls at Algar.

A lovely clean, bright and well equipped 2 bedroomed apartment with beautiful views of the beach and sea and the Penon rock. Very close to all amenities including the beach, supermarket and restaurants. Elize the housekeeper was very helpful and available by phone at any time. Calpe a lovely, quiet beach resort. Excellent comfortable beachfront apartment & pool

The 5 th floor apartment had beautiful views from each room with a first class swimming pool. The lift was quick and the apartment airy. The rooms had modern decor and were very clean and tidy with comfortable beds in each bedroom. A settee in the family room / lounge had a fold out bed. The balcony was larger than many in the building making the apartment roomy with glass enclosures that we did not need to use as the weather was fine during our stay. The kitchen is small but adequate with a sink drainer and rack for dishes. A clothes washing machine situated in a balcony attached to the kitchen enables easy laundry. A clothes maiden makes drying laundry easy. The swimming pool is impressive as it is like new with 3 pools providing a delightful recreation area. Tim was great to deal with and our security deposit was returned promptly with no issues.. Highly recommend this property

Magnifico apartamento para disfrutar en familia.

Hemos estado este mes de agosto alojados en el apartamento Rubino en Calpe. Desde el primer momento Tim ha sido muy amable y servicial con nosotros facilitándonos todo el proceso al máximo. El apartamento está situado en un lugar inmejorable, puedes ir andando a diferentes calas y playas magníficas para hacer las delicias de toda la familia. La decoración es acogedora, haciendo que te sientas como en casa y tienes todo lo que puedas necesitar para pasar unos días de descanso y relax perfectos. Volveremos sin duda.

A great place for a holiday

This is the fifth year we have stayed in Rubino 5A and it is still our favourite. The location is superb, right on the sea front with pleasant walks to the Port in one direction and the Old Town in the other; both of these locations offering an excellent selection of bars and restaurants. The views, the way the apartment is furnished, the HD freesat TV and the free wifi are also great plus points.

Great time in Calpe!

We had an amazing holiday in Calpe and our stay at the Rubino was excellent from start to finish! Every room was clean and tidy, very spacious, beautiful views from all windows and the beach was 2 mins away from the apartment. The location is ideal as you are situated near the stunning Penon de Ifach rock, with the Old Town 15 mins walk in one direction along the seafront and the New Town 10 mins walk in the other direction so you are never far away from all of the major Calpe attractions. There is a small enclaved beach which you can reach in just a few hundred yards which is ideal for young children and also Calpe is a 20 mins drive away from some amazing water and theme parks, including Mundomar, Terra Natura and Aqua Natura which I would suggest is a must for anyone with children, you can very good discount tickets from their websites.

I would highly recommend a stay here if you want a quieter family holiday or a relaxing break.

A little tip for parents with children under 11, if you are hiring a rental car then also hire booster seats for children as they have to be a certain height and the local police are increasingly keeping an eye on this!

Alicante is situated in The Costa Blanca,a very popular destination with 320 days of sunshine a year.Surrounded with salt lakes and white sandy beaches This is an ideal location for keen golfers,offering numerous golf courses within a few minutes drive.

The old town of Calpe is worth a wander around to see some historical buildings and squares. There's a street market every Saturday in the town and a flea market every Wednesday. In the summer months there are crafts fairs in the old town. This old fishing village is now a growing cosmopolitan town with a great deal of amenities and ideal for couples and families. There are blue flag beaches galore, and a wide variety of things to do, including quiet scenic places to see and loud theme parks and watersports. Just 45 minutes from Alicante airport, or 1 hour from the beautiful Valencia, it is a wonderful holiday destination to suit everyone.
