Located in one of the best farming regions in Mallorca, was built more than 300 years ago and has been utilized as a cattle farm for the last 90 years. Nowadays, a total restoration of the farm has transformed Son Vanrell into a wonderful Mallorcan country house. Restored in 2009, the property is fully furnished with all the modern conveniences. However, it still maintains its traditional taste and spirit, sure to make your stay an unforgettable one. The olive tree at the entrance, the bougainvillea, lilacs, rosemary and meanty herbs fill the country house with colour and scents throughout the spring, summer and autumn.
The House: Live between stone walls, relax in front of a great fireplace, enjoy the wonderful antique furniture, find a real water well in the main living room or a traditional wood oven. The house is a true fusion of tradition and modernity.
Location: Son Vanrell has a strategic location; with easy access to the famous beaches of Es Trenc and Sa Rápita at only 11 and 12 Km. and also to the unspoilt cove beaches of the south-east of the island at 15 km.
Booking notes: The prices include electricity, water, central heating, pool and garden. Taxes included except Ecotax ( 1,5€ x dayy and person over 16) A deposit of 25% is required to confirm booking, balance due 60 days before arrival.

“Consider you are a patchwork – family with a grand-mother and—father, four kids with and without spouses, a grandchild of 10 years and a baby of 10 weeks – a group of 9 adults and 2 kids - and you are looking for a place to celebrate a grand family vacation with enough rooms and baths to accommodate all, with a kitchen for cooks of all sorts, with a terrace and a great table to have all the meals together with laughter and finally with a garden and a swimming pool, which was the delight for the very young, the not so young anymore and the elder young, then there is one place to go on the island of Mallorca: the Finca of Matias in Campos in the heart of the island with short journeys to beaches, to golf, to shop, to dine and enjoy a wonderful week in harmony. We have recently returned from this lovely villa near Campos in South Eastern Mallorca. Marian was there to meet us when we arrived and told us all we needed to know about the villa. She very kindly let us check in early as our flight arrived mid-morning. We were a family group of 6 adults, the oldest being 93! We found the kitchen to be very well equipped - there were plenty of pans, good knives, coffee maker, a garlic press, a juicer...everything we needed was there, and it was obvious that this is a 'home' rather than just a rental property. There is free wifi in the house (although it was sometimes difficult to connect.) The garden is wonderful, and despite our visit being in October, we had beautiful weather for all but one day. The large outside dining table is in the covered patio outside the kitchen, and we ate there each day. As well as the lovely pool, the garden has plenty of room for children to play, a small cactus garden and an area with various fruit trees - lemon orange peach and olive. We met Marian's father, who popped in to check we were ok, and Marian also kindly brought us round a delicious Mallorcan cake, which we all enjoyed.
The local area was new to us - we particularly liked the town of Santanyi about 15 minutes drive away. Also the local coves such as Cala Figuera are beautiful. The villa is tucked away down a minor road five minutes drive from Campos and is set well back so feels very secluded. We certainly had a lovely week there! Thank you so much, Marian!
Very welcoming owners. Clean villa with everything you need in a great location close to the beaches in the southeast only 20 Minutes drive and good supermarkets in campos. The grounds around the villa and pool are the best I have seen and kept neat and tidy by the gardener who pops by now and again. The air conditioning works well in all bedrooms and the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need.
For beaches I would recommend Cala lambards and Cala des Moro and if you hire a boat Cala Marmols.
There is also some great restaurants in Santanyi but also a good pizza place in Campos which is only 5 minutes drive.
If we travel to Mallorca again I would not hesitate to book again.
I cannot praise this property highly enough. We were a party of nine covering three generations and the location, layout of the property and the quality of the furnishings were perfect for us.
Marian was the ideal hostess, replying to queries quickly - the house and grounds were a credit to her.

Upon arrival, we were impressed by the tasteful decor of the house and the beautiful garden. Marianne greeted us with Cava in the fridge and showed us around the house.
The house and the kitchen equipment are very clean and high quality. The gardener was friendly and visited to manicure the lawn and shrubs on most days. We certainly enjoyed tomatoes and melons he brought us from the garden.
There were plenty of sun loungers under shade around the pool area. The pool was well maintained and a good size, ranging in depth from from approx. 1m at the shallow end to a deep end of about 2m.
We enjoyed family meals using the big BBQ in the outdoor kitchen area and all our meals were taken in the well shaded dining terrace.
We had a great holiday based at the villa travelling from the accessible location to many other parts of the island.
What a lovely villa! Very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, super verandah and bbq area (with a large bbq), a lovely garden and pool...it is clearly a home rather than just a holiday let and this makes for a most comfortable stay. Marian was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her and her father. I would highly recommend this accommmodation.
The country house of Son Vanrell is located about 2 km. from the quiet and traditional town of Campos. In between olive trees and peaceful farm land you are guaranteed a perfect holiday of rest and relaxation.
