Located in one of the best farming regions in Mallorca, was built more than 300 years ago and has been utilized as a cattle farm for the last 90 years. Nowadays, a total restoration of the farm has transformed Son Vanrell into a wonderful Mallorcan country house. Restored in 2009, the property is fully furnished with all the modern conveniences. However, it still maintains its traditional taste and spirit, sure to make your stay an unforgettable one. The olive tree at the entrance, the bougainvillea, lilacs, rosemary and meanty herbs fill the country house with colour and scents throughout the spring, summer and autumn.

The House: Live between stone walls, relax in front of a great fireplace, enjoy the wonderful antique furniture, find a real water well in the main living room or a traditional wood oven. The house is a true fusion of tradition and modernity.

Location: Son Vanrell has a strategic location; with easy access to the famous beaches of Es Trenc and Sa Rápita at only 11 and 12 Km. and also to the unspoilt cove beaches of the south-east of the island at 15 km.

Beautiful property.

Large authentic Spanish property, clean and well furnished. The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen had all amenities required. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the pool well maintained.

Although we enjoyed our stay very much we found the villa a little isolated and would have preferred a few local bars to walk to. A wonderful place to get away from it all though as it was so peaceful.

The owner was pleasant and helpful.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful house

We loved this house. The owners made us feel very welcome and gave us some wine and a cake which was unexpected and very kind. The garden is wonderful, green, lovingly created and maintained and interesting. The garden attracts lots of birds, chattering in the trees and in the foliage around the house; we also had hoopoes on the grass and many birds of prey circling on the nearby thermals. The pool is lovely, Roman steps to enter the water and a good size. There were plenty of sun loungers to enjoy under the shade of the awning or in the full sun on the grass. The veranda was perfect with the long marble topped table.

The kitchen was well stocked with crockery, pans, glasses etc. The bedrooms were lovely and the air con in the bedrooms was very welcome. We only used 3 of the bedrooms and particularly liked the large downstairs bedroom with its magnificent wardrobe.

The location is just outside Campos. A car is necessary. We visited one of the nearby coves each morning (about 20 minutes drive) to swim. We particularly liked Cala Llombards (Llombards had a very small but useful supermarket). There are a good number of fish (& occasional jellyfish); snorkeling is worthwhile. Supermarkets (including a Lidl) outside Satanyi were convenient. There are markets in Satanyi and Campos, often supplying the best fruit and vegetables. We visited the towns as well as two nearby monasteries, which were cool and relaxing.

We didn't eat out at all! Somehow it was too attractive to eat on the veranda at the lovely house each day to make us want to eat elsewhere.

We had a great stay. The owners had ensured that the little basics were taken care of - loo rolls, soap, washing up liquid, and even pool / beach towels. We would love to return one day.

An absolutely outstanding property!

We've visited Mallorca various times in the past, but without a doubt Son Vanrell is the most impressive property we've stayed in yet!

It looked great from the pictures, but from the moment we were met by Marian and she started showing us around, its true scale was immediately apparent. With loads of space inside with the grandest of full height living rooms and five good sized bedrooms with great ensuite bathrooms, it worked perfectly for our party of nine across two families. Outside of course there's the great pool, with its permanent sun shade area which is so much better than parasols, but so much more too. A gorgeous garden and the large well kept lawn gives plenty of space for ball games and other activities. Also for those who like BBQing, the large cast iron BBQ is a joy to cook on, before sitting down to eat on the terrace. Overall perfect for outside living, and spacious for the times you do spend inside.

Of course a holiday isn't just about staying "at home" though! We knew the broad area, having previously stayed nearby, and Campos worked out perfectly for us. Son Vanrell is only a couple of kilometres outside of town, but still nicely isolated with nothing but farmland around it. However, a five minute drive and you've got a full choice of supermarkets in Campos for your day-to-day supplies, along with various local restaurants. Beach wise you can quickly head to the nearby south coast and the two kilometres of sand at Es Trenc; alternatively you can head east through Santanyi to the Cala D'Or area with our favourite beach Cala Mondrago about 20-25 minutes away.

And finally no review would be complete with mentioning the warm welcome we received from Marian and Matias. From the outset Marian was very flexible and was able to fit in with our slightly early arrival time, meaning we avoided having to kill time. Our arrival was completed with fresh fruit and a couple bottles of Rioja courtesy of Matias. Midway through our holiday we arrived back to find a tasty large ensaïmada waiting for us. And before the end of our holiday Matias popped around to make sure we'd enjoyed our stay. We most definitely had!

Beautiful spacious villa and gardens.

This is a lovely villa that was very spacious for all of us (4 adults and 6 children). There was lots of character inside with beautiful furniture and incredibly well equipped in the kitchen. The owner was really helpful. The outside space is divine with a lovely poolside undercover area for shade when very hot. The gardens are beautifully maintained. There is a lovely terrace for outdoor eating and a bbq to use. There are a few pool toys to use too.We would love to return in the future.

Superb Son Vanrell

Son Vanrell has to be one of the best places to stay in Mallorca. Our family of 10 flew in from all over the UK and US to spend quality time together in this fabulous Finca. Just 30 minutes from Palma airport and 20 minutes from the best beach at Mondrago and only 3 minutes into Campos, Son Vanrell is in the perfect position to be away from the hustle and bustle of town life. The quiet private location was perfect. We instantly felt "at home" as soon as we arrived. Comfortable beds with each bedroom having its own en-suite. We could not fault any aspect of the property. If fact we did not want to leave. Full credit to Matais and Marian and their team of dedicated people who made our special holiday very special and memorable. Thank you so much. we will return.

Fantastic

What a fantastic holiday. Campos is a lovely market town not 5 mins away with little bars, restaurants and coffee shops. Supermarkets for shopping also only 5 mins away. The house is fantastic and swallowed 10 people easily. The bedrooms and bathsrooms all lovely tho you will be spending your time outside. Fantastic land with beautiful plants, flowers and cacti. Veranda with table and chairs seats 14 easily for dinner using the bbq, and you find yourself perfectly positioned to enjoy the sunset over the mountains in the distance every night. Pool is perfect steps at one end and approx 7ft deep at the other, with towels and toys provided. The location is quiet and you will find that you can drive to many beaches with 15 mins easily.

Everything you could possibly need is provided.

The owner and family are lovely and looked after us well.
