Sea Front Apartment

This is a spacious en suite two bedroom apartment which has a separate living room leading to balcony overlooking the sea, and there is a large kitchen. Set in a spectacular location only 15 metres from the sea, but within walking distance of shops, restaurants, pharmacy and bank. There is a coastal reef just off shore ideal for snorkelling, and other water sport activities can be arranged.

Maxwell Beach Apartments

Our recently refurbished ( June 2016 ) apartments are set in a spectacular location. The property comprises of four self contained apartments. Three are budget priced studio apartments with en suite shower room and each with their own separate adjoining kitchenette, and the fourth is our flag ship spacious two bedroom en suite apartment with a large kitchen and living room leading to a sea view balcony. All the apartments have air conditioning in the bedrooms. The two ground floor studios have recently been refurbished ( June 2016 ) and new A/C units and mattress's have been installed.

Within walking distance are shops, pharmacy, bank and restaurants, and also the famous fishing village of 'Oistins' renowned for it's week-end Fish Fry

All the apartments have fast wireless internet connection.

The property is ideally suited for weddings (the ceremony can take place in front of the beach) , wedding blessings or an anniversary party, whereby all the apartments can be rented accommodating up to 15 people. Stay and play golf deals can be arranged.

The studio apartments are also ideal for single guests.

Excellent location, accommodation & views

We rented the main upstairs villa and the downstairs one bedroom studio.

The upstairs villa was perfect, it had amazing views out to the sea and was literally a stone’s throw away from the beach.

The beach in front of the apartment was virtually empty on most days of our visit and it was like our own private beach.

we were a family of 5 visiting the island/villas and the upstairs apartment provided an excellent base for us to plan our days and relax on the beach with the comfort of having a well-stocked kitchen at hand.

Both rooms facilities were great and came with a good air conditioning systems to keep us cool at night.

Peter was very helpful and always on hand to help with car hire, places to visit & advice on island life.

Overall the villa was perfect for our holiday and would highly recommend it to any one visiting the island.

This property is in an idyllic location.

Once we'd decided to holiday in Barbados, we browsed the web to find an ideal but affordable place to stay. After lots of research we plumped for Maxwell Beach Apartments. We stayed from 21st August to 4th September 2014. Our first week was spent in the upstairs apartment. The room was clean, very basic but provided a good base to tour the island .We hired a car although public transport is frequent and very cheap.

The second week we moved to the seafront apartment. The view from the balcony is amazing and the rooms are lovely. Although we intended to dine out quite a bit in the second week, we spent most evenings on the balcony. We wouldn't have exchanged that view for best restaurant on the island! There we would eat our own cooked food or take-outs from "Just Grillin " which sells tasty , reasonably priced Bajan food. We also drank lots of wine and Banks lager whilst listening to the waves of the Caribbean Sea and some old skool reggae . We couldn't think of anywhere in the world we'd rather have been !!

The Apartments are but a stones throw from a lovely , small ,sandy beach, which although not private, was very rarely occupied by more than 2 or 3 couples at a time. The sea is blue, warm, clear and clean. We spent hours swimming and bobbing about in the water and sunbathing on the sun loungers provided.

Peter is an excellent host and gave us a very useful induction into what to see and where to go as well as booking taxis to and from the airport and arranging car hire for us.

I guess our only concern was the attitude of the locals. Despite everything you might read about their friendliness, they are quite sullen, avoid eye contact and are generally unhelpful. If you don't believe me just go shopping in the local Massey supermarket. However there are exceptions to the rule and if you make lots of effort, sometimes a friendly Bajan might just cross your path!

All in all a fantastic holiday in a fantastic location and hopefully we'll return very soon.

PS The seafront apartment is not to be missed and well worth the extra expense

Best holiday ever!

We have recently returned home from two wonderful weeks at Maxwell Beach Apartments, in fact our trip was so great we have already booked to return next year!

We spent the first 6 days in the ground floor apartment which was simply furnished, comfortable and extremely clean. The average temperature while we were there was about 28C with high humidity so we were very happy to have AC each night which ensured the room was cool enough to sleep. We had been advised by our travel Doctor in Vancouver not to drink the water in Barbados but after checking with Peter we decided not to worry, and drank water from the tap from day one with absolutely no problems.

We used the apartment kitchen and had several excellent meals at the local Surfers Café in Oistins, about a 10 minute walk away. We tried the margaritas at Café Sol in St Lawrence Gap but the best by far were at our local Surfers Café. Across the street from the café is a large grocery store that more than catered to whatever we might need for simple meals at home. The grocery store also sells alcohol and had a great selection of imported wines at reasonable prices as well as a wide variety of Barbados Rum.

For the last 7 nights of our holiday, we moved upstairs to the totally gorgeous sea front apartment with its breathtaking view of the ocean. We spent hours each day sitting on the porch reading, sipping drinks and watching sea turtles dip their heads in and out of the ocean, almost close enough to touch.

If you want a real authentic Bajan restaurant experience be sure to go to Brown Sugar. We had a fabulous and very reasonably priced meal there. I had some of the best crusted snapper I’ve ever tasted, the portions were huge and the service was friendly and attentive.

Aside from the breathtaking scenery and the pure joy of being on a Caribbean holiday, meeting Peter and Sheena was the highlight of our trip. They are truly excellent hosts who take pride in their apartments and take great care of their guests. They are unobtrusive yet friendly and were readily available to provide recommendations for great places to eat, hiring rental vehicles and attractions to visit on the island.

My husband and I have been lucky enough to travel a fair amount and what means the most to us wherever we go is the opportunity to meet decent kind hearted people. We loved our time at Maxwell Beach apartments and can’t wait to see Peter and Sheena again in 11 months!

En rigtig god lejlighed, med 2 dejlige soverum og store behagelige senge, 2 lækre badeværelser, dejlig køkken og stor opholdsrum med alle faciliteter. Vi tilbragte nu meget af vores tid, på den utrolige dejlige store terrasse, med udsigt til det flotte hav som hele tiden skiftede farve, sidde ude og nyde det skønne vejr, kolibrien samt de andre fugle som er der. om aftenen var det træ frøen og crabben som gravede i sandet der kom frem. Vi har nydt vores 16 dage lange ferie, i skønne omgivelser, en dejlig lejlighed og nogle helt fantastiske mennesker. En speciel stor tak til Peter og Sheena, for deres store hjælp da jeg blev syg og skulle til læge. GODT KØRT Sheena :-). Lejligheden ligger dejlig med egen strand, hvor sandet er så fint at det kan bruges til body scrub, ligge og nyde solen i fred og ro. Vi nød også at kunne gå til indkøbs centret, torvet hvor vi købte frisk frugt-grønt og fisk, Oistens og alle de andre restauranter som er der. Der er også gode bus forbindelser lige uden for lejligheden, hvorfra man kan komme til Bridgetown, eller den nordlige spids for 2 BBD. dollars. Vi kan kun varmt anbefale stedet, en ren paradis. VI NØD HVERT ENESTE DAG.
