Relax in luxury with family or friends in beautiful surroundings

Updated: 12-Sep-2016
4 bed detached luxurious house in the Soca Valley.Slovenian / Italian borders

Our very large luxurious, spacious 4 bedroom detached house is surrounded by beautiful views of the mountains and Nadiza River. The house is situated in a very tranquil location set amongst a few farm houses, its a great place to just kick back and relax and take in the stunning surroundings. If your an outbound type then this is also perfect for you as its a great base for many outdoor activities which are right on the doorstep. There are all the local amenities you need in the historical nearby town of Kobarid which arguably has one of the finest restaurants in Slovenia, and also hosts a hotel, bars, banks, etc.. Kobarid formed a front-line in WW1 and there is a fantastic Museum to tell the whole story which is well worth a visit. There is also a Casino for those who feel lucky. The house in only 5km from the Italian border and the beautiful Friuli region which has many spectacular vineyards to explore. House is only 1hour 40min away from Venice.Call on 07814802735 before paying.

lovely house in a beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

We spent new year's eve here with friends and their children. The house is very comfortable and has been beautifully restored so that the old charm has been very well preserved. It's spacious and offers two bathrooms on two separate floors so that even with a lot of guests you won't have any problems.

The area where the house is situated offers a lot of interesting activities also in winter time (hiking, back country skiing but also interesting museums and lovely villages can be found nearby). However, if you are looking to hit the slopes do inquire in Bovec if the cable car that takes you up mount Canin is running as it was shut down during our stay (a sign on the cable car station read "closed down until further notice").

Also you'll find plenty of books, movies and toy for children at the house. The kitchen (like the whole house) is very well equipped - we've enjoyed cooking in so much that we didn't even get to try any of the nearby restaurants.

The information we received beforehand has been very helpful and communication has been very friendly and quick. The welcome package was a nice touch and especially the local wine was very much appreciated.

We've enjoyed our stay a lot and are even thinking about going back there in summertime for some rafting and climbing. If we do, we'd definitely rent this property again!

Lovely house, beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful time staying at the house with friends, four adults and four teenagers.

Booking was easy and information prior to arrival was excellent. The house was clean and tidy when we got there and the welcome pack including the beer and wine was much appreciated after the long drive.

The location is excellent; beautiful south-facing views out over the valley, and very quiet and peaceful. The house is spacious with lots of areas for relaxing, socialising, or escaping for a bit of peace and quiet! Bedrooms are large and our bed was extremely comfy.

We ate out a couple of times at local restaurants but cooked for ourselves most evenings. The kitchen was well-equipped and there was plenty of room for us all around the large dining table.

There's so much to do in the area, you'd need weeks to even scratch the surface. The boys kayaked on the Soça river, we went rafting in Bovec, walking in the hills around Kobarid, bathing in the local river, and ventured further afield to Ljubljana and to the spectacular caves at Skocjan.

We'd definitely recommend staying at Hancnel and would love to return one day soon.

Lovely holiday house with a great kitchen

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a fine week in the house near Kobarid. It was very complete furnished with a good kitchen equipment. We were with eight persons and the was always a quite place to find for reading or so. Outside is a garden with a huge table for diner and enough shade on hot days. We really enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic in every way!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this villa which was beautifully and thoughtfully equipped. Welcome pack was a really great touch. The accommodation was perfect, plenty of space, indoor and outdoor seating areas whilst retaining the feel of a traditional villa. we really like the outdoor seating area adjacent to the kitchen. We loved Slovenia! Great walks, swimming. history, dining. We went to Venice for the day (though did take 2 3/4 hours to get there!). Great communication from the owners. We'd recommend unreservedly and would love to return.

excellent, easy to find and everything we wanted

  • 4 of 5

The house was lovely, really well thought out and felt like a proper home, there were enough seats for everyone (you’d be surprised how many times you turn up at a rental house to find 1 tiny Ikea sofa for 6 people) and nothing felt cheap or thrown together. We didn’t come across anything that we felt could have been done better.

The Views from the Terrace were amazing, the pictures of this rental really don't do it justice.

the owners gave us a welcome pack and a full list fo everything that was there, this made shopping and planning much easier. little things like including dishwasher and washing machine powder really make a difference to a short stay.

would defo stay again.

The house is on the outside of a sleepy village situated 6km up a quiet mountain road which is very easily accessible all year round. It has stunning views across the mountains to Italy with the meandering river Nadiza in the distance. The historical town of Kobarid is 8km away from the house and here you can find a well stocked supermarket, deli's, banks and almost anything you may need for your stay. Kobarid also has an interesting museum, walk to an amazing view point and you can sample some of Slovenian's best food as this particular area is also none as the 'gormet region' of Slovenia. For the discerning tourist who wants a bit more Kobarid has a lot to offer including many out door pursuits, such as paragliding, white water rafting, kayaking, fly fishing, walking, mountain biking and skiing, or just relax on the shores of the river below the house. Only 5km away is the Italian border where you can enjoy all the delights of the Friuli region and the historical town of Udine.

  • Our very large four bedroom house in Borjana is surrounded by beautiful views of the Stol mountains and the Nadiza River. The house is situated in a very tranquil location set amongst a few farm houses. Within the village is a very traditional Slovenian restaurant / bar with never more than five locals having a drink. The house has a unique and well proportioned living space and is full of character and furnished to a very high standard. Equipped with all the amenities and comforts of any good home, making this an ideal holiday let. Our aim is that you should not wish for anything. The house is surrounded by gardens and has ample parking. Leading off from the kitchen is a very secluded garden to relax and enjoy the sunshine. There is a table for ten, sun loungers and a BBQ which makes alfresco dining a must in this hill side sun trap. To the side of the property leading off one of the two sitting rooms is a terrace to enjoy late evening drinks with far reaching views of the valley.
