Casa Collina is a charming stone house built from rustic traditional stone, timber and terracotta. It is located at the top of a ridge with spectacular views from the house and pool of the rolling hills, fields, olive groves and beautiful sunsets. The house is modern and well-equipped as Italian country charm meets Scandinavian cosiness. Our guests love the large terrace which is the ideal place to watch the sunset with a glass of local wine. The house is placed in quiet and private surroundings making it the perfect place for a family holiday or a romantic get-away.
When entering the house, you will find yourself in the bright and airy kitchen/dining area connected to the cosy living room with an open fireplace. With a direct entrance to the spacious terrace, you are able to enjoy the panoramic views from the whole living area; it allows for indoor/outdoor living with a big table and chairs perfect for eating and entertaining with family and friends. Located on ground floor and 1st floor, you will find two bedrooms with new comfortable double beds and its en suite bathrooms. Furthermore, it is possible to use a sofa-bed for two people to sleep in the living room. On the first floor there is a large balcony connected to its bedroom with sun loungers; perfect for stargazing at night. Outside there is a private swimming pool with sun loungers and a big umbrella, where you also can enjoy the beautiful view of the hills and olives groves below. Casa Collina is fully insulated, has a central heating system and an open fireplace which means that it also is suitable for stays outside the summer season.
The house is located down a quiet country road which allows for a peaceful night of sleep and privacy at the property. You will be welcomed by our Property Manager, who will ensure you get settled and informed about the practicalities of the house. The Property Manager lives close by and is always available to answer questions and ensure everything is working well. If requested for, the Manager can arrange a horseback trek in the hills, booking of a tennis court in the local town and give guidance on where to eat, go wine tasting and other local experiences. While staying at Case Collina, you can enjoy some scenic hillside walks, hire a bike to explore the beautiful countryside or simply spend the day by the pool enjoying the stunning views from the house. You can buy your groceries at the big supermarket EMI located about 15 minutes away by car at Todi or the little Supermercato in San Terenziano, only a short drive from the house.
The area offers many cultural and culinary experiences throughout the different seasons. Towns such as Todi, Montefalco, Orvieto, Spello, Bavagna and Deruta is a relative short drive from the house, where you can experience beautiful cobble streets and old building. A must see is the world heritage site, Assisi, where you can experience the town's beautiful scenery, spectacular architecture and rich culture. In the summer Perugia hosts the world-famous jazz festival, “Umbria Jazz”, where local and international jazz artist fills the streets and the different stages around town. In Spoleto, there is a classical art festival where you can experience theatre, ballet, opera, movies and music. During the summer months, each small town also hosts their own festa with days of street parties, open air eating and drinking.
Casa Collina is located in central Italy meaning you can access the house from several airports. The nearest ones are Perugia at 40 kilometres (approx. 45 minutes’ drive) and Rome either Ciampino or Fiumicino at 150 kilometres (approx. 1,5 hours’ drive). Alternatively, you can fly into Firenze (2 hours’ drive), Pisa or Bologna airport (3 hours drive). At all airports it is possible to hire a car. Further, a bus is available from the outskirts of Todi going to Rome airport. The Bus stops at Rome Tiburtina station (where you can change to the city metro) and continues to Rome airport which is a useful service for visitors who might want to come during your stay. From Perugia and Terni there are fast trains to Florence and Rome making both cities ideal for day trips without the hassle of driving. Both cities are also easily reached by road.
