About the property

Very spacious property - ideal for 2-3 families and children sharing

A beautiful, eighteenth century Maison de Maitre situated in a village 5km from Bagneres de Bigorre. The house is in a small lane and has a secluded garden with plenty of parking, a stream and its own heated swimming pool. The property is ideally placed for skiing (45 minutes to La Mongie), and for Lourdes (20 minutes). The house has four bedrooms, sleeping 10-12 people and would be ideal for 2 or more families who wish to holiday together. There is plenty of family entertainment on site, with a table tennis table, a pool table, a football table, satellite TV, broadband and a good selection of games and puzzles. Nearby leisure pursuits include mountain walks, luxury spa baths, a treetop assault course centre and extreme sports such as white water rafting and paragliding. The surrounding area is also popular with cycling enthusiasts, (the Tour de France has ridden through the village on several occasions). The kitchen is well-equipped and there is a bathroom and separate shower room. All rooms are very spacious. A collection of bikes are available on request. Various pieces of gym equipment.

Beautiful Property Close to Many Famous Tour de France Climbs

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a week here in September 2016 to cycle col du Tourmalet, and ended up taking in col d'Aspin and col d'Aubisque as well. Penny and Michael were very responsive to e-mails and provided some short and long cycling routes which were a big help in exploring the local area and the mountains. We were only a group of 4 adults, but the house is well set up for many more - and would be well suited for a large group of families with children. The pictures don't do the house justice, and we never got bored with the swimming pool, table tennis table, and pool table. Beautiful house and great holiday - would definitely stay again either as a base for cycling with friends or as a place to holiday with family.

What a beautiful house!

5 of us had the luxury of sharing this large characterful and charming property for a cycling weekend.

It's very well located for all the major iconic cycling routes and climbs in the Pyrenees. As well as being well located to towns of interest.

The house is extremely spacious and very well appointed with BBQ's and all the kitchen equipment you could need for very hungry people!

The swimming pool is a luxury, located within the beautiful private gardens consisting of vines and cherry trees.

Definitely recommend and would love to return!

Lovely house full of character and comfy beds.

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property for 3 families with children (10 - 18yrs) for a ski holiday.

Ideal layout with 3 double bedrooms and a large "dorm" for the kids. The house was clean and beds made on our arrival. Shower room downstairs, although the large bathroom upstairs probably could benefit from a shower curtain for more flexibility. The kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of crockery, glasses etc.(even a raclette machine - just what you need after a day on the slopes!) Additional utility room with washing machine and 2nd fridge/freezer. The other rooms downstairs were large especially the lounge area with highly effective woodburner. The table-tennis room and snooker room added to the choices of entertainment at the house. Great tv and sound system to catch up on the go-pro ski videos from the daytime activity.

Helpful caretaker & owners promptly answered queries.

Location, as described, is about 5km NE of Bagneres de Bigorre although the Homeaway map doesn't show this clearly. La Mongie ski resort about 40mins but also went to Cauterets for a day. Easily do-able.

Would definitely recommend this charming house.

Amazing house, with brilliant fishing close by

  • 5 of 5

This is the most incredible house I have ever stayed in. You are in one of the most beautiful areas, surrounded by countryside, and rivers. The house everything you could ever need for a brilliant holiday. You can very easily end up just staying around the house all day, playing pool or table tennis, and going for a dip in the swimming pool. I particularly loved the house because of the rivers that surround it as I am a keen fly fisherman. Within an hour of the house you can catch trout, grayling, Arctic char and even the odd salmon! However this time we focused on the rivers in the near vicinity, and this meant the River Adour and its tributaries. The fishing was challenging but very rewarding. It is most suited to the more experienced angler.

I would recommend the house to anyone.

Exceeded expectations

  • 5 of 5

We had a brilliant time in this house in Trebons. What a wonderful house!! I couldn't believe how lovely it was when we arrived and walked in. It really exceeded my expectations and we were all very happy. We enjoyed playing in the pool, playing pool, table football and badminton. During the daytimes we were mostly walking. We even reached the summit of Pic du Montaigu. The bakery in the village is good.

Stunning manor house

  • 5 of 5

This is a truly beautiful manor house in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The photos are not able to do this house justice - it's beautifully authentic and suitably huge... perfect for 2/3 families to holiday together. All the rooms are on a big scale and have everything you could want. It's like staying in your own house - except it's a manor house in the mountains! The pool is a good size and the garden pretty - the whole property is tucked behind huge wrought iron gates which meant we could leave the (6) children - youngest 18 months - oldest 6 years to rake around without us worrying about where they were at all times. The pool area is also enclosed with it's own gate etc. so further piece of mind. If you are in to cycling - the position of the house is perfect. Literally from the front door - there are hills and mountains of varying steepness to keep everyone entertained. Will love to come back here again soon.
