About the Owner

We are two British families with children now aged between 24 and 18 who have skiied together for 20 years all around the Alps. We bought the apartment because we wanted to be able to return, summer and winter, with friends to share great holidays.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Hi Geoff,

Just returned from a fabulous week's skiing at Arc 2000. Weather good, masses of lovely snow, but above all your apartment which was a real treat. We were the only ones in Eidelweiss, so it was perfectly peaceful, oh so comfortable and, like others before us, with new snow we were able to ski back to the door. We have stayed in many different apartments over the years, always travelling down by Eurostar, but we think that your place was the best yet. Thank you all so much for making it available for folks like us.

We left Bourg on the train at 9.30 this morning and got to London St. Pancras at 4.15pm, right on time, so everything went well according to plan.

Thank you once again,

Perfect experience

As a group of 8 friends, this was the perfect location for a very pleasant ski holiday. The apartment was in flawless condition, very clean and very well equipped to proportionate a very conformable stay. For example the location of the ski equipment storage is right opposite the apartment making it very easy to equip in and out. The location of the chalet in relation to Les Arcs is also great, literally ski in - I would only take the skis off at the door.

In terms of the booking and the arrangements was also perfect, straightforward to get the keys and everything even though we arrived quite late on Saturday. For a group of 8/10 people I cannot think of a better place to stay in Les Arcs - the resort itself is perfect.

Great chalet in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here over Easter as two families together. Really lovely chalet only a few minutes walk away from the drag lift up to the slopes - perfect when skiing with kids ! The chalet had everything we needed for a very comfortable and easy stay with parking close by and the boot room just outside the appartment. The outlook is great and fantastic for a beer in the sun after skiing with good weather ! We had never skied Les Arcs before but will definitely come back and would recommend the appartment and the resort. PS The only WiFi is in the chalet reception but for us this was a bonus as less distractions for all !

Great stay in Les Arcs

  • 5 of 5

Very nice apartment in a great location within easy access of the slopes and the restaurants and bars of both Les Arcs 2000 and 1950. Spacious and well equipped, the apartment has a lovely balcony, a big, private ski locker and each room is also en-suite which makes it ideal for two families sharing. The availability of an underground parking space is also a big plus, and the only gripe from our kids was the absence of wi-fi - although it is available in the nearby reception area of the Chalets de Neige.

Ski Heaven is a place on Earth

  • 5 of 5

This chalet is by most standards pretty enourmous. We were very lucky during our 'corporate' stay (a strategy week) and shared the whole place between 4 of us- which in itself was luxurious when the place would comfortably sleep 8 and at a push 10!!

Each of the rooms has its own Shower/sink and one (the master) has a bath. There are no fewer than 3 toilets, 2 of them off the main corridor and one in an en-suite.

The beds are comfortable and the rooms are warm with the majority of the Chalet having underfloor heating (it must be good as the lowest temp we recorded was -31 degrees) although we had logs to burn every night which made it oh so comfortable and snug in the evenings. The main kitchen/diner/lounge is spacious and comfortable with 2 huge sofas (good for 6) a TV/DVD combo (not massive but OK) and French TV which WILL improve your diction.

The nearest lift is a mere 50 metres away (a small button) and you can ski back to the bottom of this in the evening.

Overall we rated this chalet as........wonderful.........the longer we were there, the more comfortable it became! We will definitely return next year. Oh By the way it has a pool and a hot tub somewhere in the main building, but we got so snug in the evenings we never ventured out!! The ONLY thing we would gripe about is no WIFI in the chalet- for a bunch of corporates this is like going cold turkey.....

Our best skiing holiday accommodation to date

  • 5 of 5

Wouldn't hesitate in recommending this apartment. Very spacious/well equipped with wonderful comfy sofas - just what you want when you return from a hard day's skiing. Bedrooms extremely spacious with really comfy beds. Constant hot water for the bathrooms. Very close to the slopes and managed to ski back to the door when it had snowed. Had a problem with the car park when we arrived (through no fault of the owners) upon contacting the owners they were fantastic and sorted immediately.

By far the most luxurious apartment we have stayed in to date.

There were 9 of us and it never felt cramped. Wi-Fi was very expensive through Chalet des Neiges but if you went to the nearby bars you could get it free.

Small supermarket a few doors up which served our needs.

All linen provided but don't forget to take your own t-towels (we forgot). Would also recommend taking extra pillows, you get 1 each but weren't that firm.

Location

From the Owner

When looking for a place to buy our priorities were the best chance of good snow; easy access to slopes for all abilities; and a place that could really feel like home with sensible apres-ski facilities - all at a cost that does not break the bank. We think that Chalet Eidelweiss and the team at Chalet des Neiges who support it really deliver this. We were originally nervous that we might get bored returning to the same place, and David is a really excellent skier, but in fact the more we return, the more we enjoy it. It does not have all the swank of Megeve or Zermatt; or full on party atmosphere of Val - but for us, the skiing is better at better value!

Activity and Interests

Car: not necessary

Les Arcs 2000 has a superb snow record so get away from it all at the foot of the Aiguille Rouge (3226m), opposite Mont-Blanc. Gentle slopes for beginners and breathtaking descents for experienced skiers/boarders with 11 Black runs in Les Arcs 2000 alone. The resort is linked to La Plagne (should you feel the need) excellent ski lift network throughout the resort. Ski school, restaurants, bars, shops – something for everyone.

Visit our Website at www.skilesarcs2000.weebly.com to see more about the Chalet, the resort, and how to have the best holiday ever.

Facilities

From the Owner

The apartment has easy access to the slopes, great facilities with plenty of space in the lounge and bedrooms; the spa for the evenings and plenty of restaurant options as it is as easy to get to 1950 (which shuts early!) as to 2000 (which does not)
