Amazing summer hiking/winter skiing apartment in stunning waterfall valley

We look forward to hosting you in our lovely ground floor apartment. French doors open up to the patio and garden, with a small stream only footsteps away. The open-plan modern kitchen is fully equipped with a ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine. The living room offers dining space for 6 as well as a flat screen TV, DVD player and wireless internet access. A double bed in the stylish master bedroom and twin beds in the second bedroom comfortably sleep a total of four.

Enclosed garage parking is included. The apartment is suitable for families with children as well as the elderly and it is easily accessed by wheelchair.

A two minute walk brings you to the (ski) bus stop, ten minutes to the village. Lauterbrunnen is the departure point to the most spectacular railways in Europe and and beautiful alpine hikes.

Summer season: Whether you want a relaxing escape or an action packed adventure, Lauterbrunnen has it all on offer. The Jungfrau region has around 500 kilometres of hiking trails of varying lengths and difficulty with fantastic opportunities to spot wildlife such as ibex and chamois or various alpine birds. Lauterbrunnen is the departure point for the most spectacular mountain cog railways and cable cars in Europe. The mountain restaurants are open throughout the year offering breathtaking views. Cycle routes vary from gentle along the valley floor to steep mountain passes or proper downhill tracks. Bicycles are easily rented in the village and are allowed on most mountain trains. The lakes have lidos and beaches all along the shores and there is a heated open air swimming pool in the village. For those who want more adrenalin, white water rafting, canoeing, mountaineering, paragliding, hang gliding, bungy jumping and skydiving are all available in the surrounding area.

Winter season: Winter in Lauterbrunnen is ideal for skiers and non-skiers alike: There are 213km of pistes for skiers and snowboarders and 45 chair lifts, cable cars and trains to choose from in the Jungfrau region. Lauterbrunnen is nestled in the valley between the ski resorts of Mürren and Wengen and offers easy and fast access to both areas. You can follow the tracks of famous skiers on the Lauberhorn run, the world’s longest downhill race track, or, snow permitting, ski all 16km down from the top of the Schilthorn to the village of Lauterbrunnen. A cross country trail skirts the apartment. For non skiers there are more than 100km of winter hiking trails, 5okm of sledding trails and a couple of snowshoe trails. Hiking passes are available and allow non skiers to enjoy the mountain restaurants, the breathtaking views and the toboggan runs, as well as some of the most scenic walks in the alps. Other activities include ice skating, ice climbing, curling, heli skiing and the indulging in wellness.

Suitability: Aside from a 10cm step at the building’s entrance, there are no stairs at all, making the apartment wheelchair accessible and suitable for people with physical disabilities or families with small children. The doors are wide enough and the master bedroom has plenty of room. Specialized equipment can be rented. There is an indoor heated place to leave prams. Having small children ourselves, we understand the needs of parents and have many extras to offer. Please contact us with your requests. Starting from the apartment, there is an easy, flat and wheelchair (& pushchair) compatible trail. Public transport in the region (buses, trains & cable cars) is also easy and user friendly.

Notes:
The greatest care has been taken fitting the apartment out to a very high standard. There is a large DVD selection and the kitchen is stocked with a starter set of basics. Tennis and mini golf at 150m with discounted rates for guests.

One of the most wonderful places we have stayed at

The apt was everything as published and more. It is centrally located to everything and the bus stop is literally a 100 yards outside the front door. Easy access to all the ski areas and the skiing was fantastic. The apt is fully equipped and needs nothing and our hosts couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. The views of the waterfalls from the back patio are spectacular. We will definitely be back for another stay, next time we will look forward to the beauty of the summertime.

Fabulous apartment, so comfortable!

This is a fantastic apartment. It is so well equipped for the climate and for a family. The kids loved playing in the snow just out the front door, there was so much space. The views were beautiful too and the hosts were really good, helping us with anything we needed. I would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Retreat

This was the perfect retreat from the otherwise hectic vacation of running from hotel to hotel and eating in restaurants. The place was exactly as advertised. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. The instructions left by the owner were clear and very helpful. We were there with a car and it was great to have a nice place to park. Having a washer and dryer made the stay that much nicer. Staying Lauterbrunnen is a great to be able to access both Murren and Vengan. It was just a few minutes to get over to Grindlewalde. Definitely a great place to stay.

Loved it!!

Loved our stay in this top notch apartment surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Perfect location, close to all the major attractions. Shops and restaurants within easy walking distance.

Great to be able to take our two dogs on all the trains and gondolas (for free) and enjoy the fantastic walking routes everywhere.

Owner Diarmuid was extremely helpful and very welcoming.

Nice property in an awesome location!!

This property in Lauterbrunnen is very comfortable with modern amenities. The views from the property are beautiful in all directions and very accessible to train and gondolas. The location is perfect for visiting the scenic towns of Murren and Wengen. The campgrounds right across the river from the property has a nice mini market for picking up simple groceries and also has a wonderful restaurant that makes it very convenient to have a nice meal at the end of a busy day. The waterfall right behind the property is beautiful to look at day or night and the nearby hiking trails go right along the river. Would definitely return to this wonderful property in picturesque Lauterbrunnen.

Lauterbrunnen is probably the most impressive glaciated valley in the Alps, inspiring people such as Goethe and Tolkien. No less than 72 waterfalls cascade down the mountains. The village centre is a mere 10 min. stroll along the river, where you may find restaurants and shops, banks and the tourist office. Across the street there is a small convenience store. Lauterbrunnen is a perfect base for your adventures: spectacular mountain railways and cable cars whisk you past Wengen, famous for the Lauberhorn ski race, on to Kleine Scheidegg with breathtaking views of the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau and on to the Jungfraujoch, the highest train station in Europe. Across the valley, Mürren awaits you with even more dramatic views, and 2 cable cars further you reach Schilthorn with its revolving restaurant. The area has hundreds of miles of summer hiking trails and endless skiing options, with a cross country piste skirting the apartment. All airports connect easily by rail.
