About J Parminter

With computing and Food skills we both decided to move here and change our pace of life in this beautiful part of Cornwall. Still lots to do but in a different environment.

J Parminter purchased this cottage in 2005

Why J Parminter chose Truro & Falmouth area

Having loved this area since I was about 12, and having made many friends here over many visits at all times of year we moved to St. Just in Roseland a few miles from here. I saw these barns when they were derelict and decided to buy them and convert them to one residential and two letting cottages but mainly because they came with 15 acres of fields and I had a horse at the time. Really enjoyed doing the development on these character stone barns and made sure they were also as sustainable as possible without losing their charm. No regrets!

What makes this cottage unique

The location is fantastic and it means we only have to walk for 5 minutes to the beautiful sandy Porthcurnick beach for a swim or onto the coast path. Jon loves fishing and can just pop through a field to get to the water and catch Bass. With Portscatho village just a 15 minute walk across the beach and St. Mawes another pretty harbour village a short drive away it's like being a different world. There is everything you need in the attractive city of Truro and we can explore the whole of Cornwall from here with Penzance only 1hr 30mins away and the surfing in Newquay just 40 minutes away. Falmouth a boat trip or ferry ride away and all the gardens to visit in easy reach, oh and lots of great places to eat!

Guestbook comments from the owner

beautiful Cottage with a great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a nice and pleasant stay in this beautiful Cottage. It's tastefully furnished and very clean with perfect Equipment. The location of the house is great for trips to the many gardens and hikes on the coast side.We felt very comfortable and Judy and Jon made us feel welcome. We would recommend the house to anyone anytime. The best thing probably were the beautiful coast trails along the whole cliffs and coast sides of the surrounding. But there also are many interesting and beautiful towns which you can visit.

Summing up it was a beautiful Holiday for us and we would love to visit again.

Best regards

Claudia, Christian, Lina and Magnus

Lovely, tranquil spot with great accomodation

  • 4 of 5

The property is great and had everything we needed for our stay. The owners where very friendly and helpful before, during and after our stay as we managed to leave something behind and they posted it back to us the next day! The area surrounding the property is amazing and we spent our week looking for little private beaches, castles and mines and had a truly great holiday.

Cosy place in quiet surroundings - very friendly

  • 5 of 5

At our arrival we got an very warm welcome and loved Wreckers from the very first moment. The property is perfectly equiped and provides plenty of space for the entire family. In about 5 minutes you can walk down to the beach or just relax in a garden chair or enjoy the cosy livingroom. We definately can recommend a short trip to St. Mawes and the tiny castle over there.

Judith (the owner) was a great host, we never had such tasty clotted tea before!

In case we spend another vacation in Cornwall, we will stay in Wreckers again.
