Gorgeous 3* Individual Ski Chalet in Megève France

Updated: 05-Oct-2016
Family Ski chalet on ski bus rt, 3 bedrooms, short walk to central Megève

The famous ski resort of Megève, near Mont-Blanc in the French Alps, is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful resorts in the world. Le Jardin Alpin chalet is only 1200m from the center of Megève (500m from outskirts), is an equal distance from all the main ski lifts, right on the ski bus route and only 200m from a large supermarket.

The chalet backs onto open fields/hills which make it perfect for families - the kids can play in the snow and sled down the hill while the parents watch from the warmth of the chalet!

The chalet is impeccably finished with a well equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms and a sofa bed to easily accommodate 6 and a maximum of 8 people. The master double bedroom has an en suite shower room. Both the master and second double bedrooms boast a balcony to enjoy the mountain and pasture views. The third bedroom has 2 single beds. We also have a baby bed available.

The price includes reception at the chalet, all bed linen, towels, cleaning, utilities, firewood, WiFi internet.

We had a fantastic time in your chalet and would be happy to recommend it to anyone!!! We loved the warmth, the décor, the location, the fireplace, the convenient kitchen, the cute bedrooms…the children had a great time outside on the sleds and it was fantastic to be able to just sit and watch them from the comfortable lounge…

Thank you again and we hope to come back in the next couple of years!

Great chalet for the Megeve area

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weeks stay over Easter, skiing with the kids. After a long drive, it was great to arrive at the chalet, which didn't disappoint. It was very well equipped and even comes with it's own sledging slope (& sledges in the garage) right behind the chalet, which the kids loved. The chalet itself was nicely presented with an open fire (inc firewood), full equipped with plenty of space. The Spa bath is very relaxing after a hard days skiing.

As a self catered chalet, the supermarket being just around the corner made life really easy with fresh bread and croissants each morning.

Megeve is a lovely town with great skiing variety for all abilities. The Mount Arbois area can be reached via the Princess gondola which is just 5 mins down the road (by car), which has a very large free car park.

The chalet also has a secure garage which is good for the storage of boots, skis and bikes etc. It is a great base for the area and I'm sure we will be back.

Thanks to Ian and Helen for the very prompt replies to emails etc.

Great holiday in Megeve

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in this adorable chalet in February. It was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. We especially appreciated the washing machine and dryer. The bedrooms were comfortable with good quality bedding (sheets, duvets, towels etc. all good quality).

The location was perfect, a short drive to the village and ski slopes.

Comfortably furnished and beautifully situated: an ideal holiday residence

  • 4 of 5

During our stay, there was nowhere snow in the Alps below ca. 1800 m and also not in the village of Megève. Even though there was no snow, Megève is wunderful and probably magical and romantic when it has snowed.

From the residence, one has a beautiful sight on the mountains, and when sun shines, the residence is always located in the sunlight. The residence is clean and tidy and sufficient large to stay with 6 adults. The kitchen is well furnished, and in the livingroom it is cozy around the fireplace. Wifi and TV are OK. Three bedrooms, one with shower and the others with common bathroom on the landing, is very good. It's also good to have the car near the house or in the garage. The casino and carrefour supermarkets are within ca. 300 m and are open for most of the days. We enjoyed our stay in the chalet and the environment very much and recommend it highly.

The location of the property was lovely.Plenty of space outside for the children to play.Rather a long walk into town.Handy for the local supermarket.Inside the living room was spacious.Everywhere was nice and clean.--More hooks needed upstairs for towels and dressing gowns etc.NB The spa bath smelt rather unpleasant when using it as though it needed cleanig.---Otherwise a good property with a pleasant manager .Megeve is a good centre to explore the Mont Blanc region.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for the feedback, it is truly appreciated. I will make sure Valerie is aware of the bath - perhaps run some diluted bleach through the system. Next time I'm at the chalet I will also look at adding more hooks. Thanks again, Ian

Wonderful relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

6 of us (3 couples) recently visited Megeve for a quiet week away and were so pleased we chose this chalet to stay in.

It was everything it says in the description and more. It is clean, nicely decorated, could easily have slept 8 and it had all the amenities you could want.

It was the little touches that made it a great stay. Before we left for France we were contacted by Valerie (who manages the property) to confirm our arrival time and also to see if there was anything we wanted such as bread, butter, water, milk etc. It was so nice knowing we could get the chalet and not instantly having to go supermarket (although there are 2 in short walking distance)

Valerie was also there on our arrival at the chalet to show us around and make sure we knew how to use everything and spoke good English. She was contactable throughout our stay and helped us plan how to get to chamonix later on in the holiday.

The upstairs of the chalet consists of 3 double bedrooms (one ensuite) and 2 have balconies. All bedrooms are clean and are plenty big enough. There is also a main bathroom with shower and jacuzzi bath and a separate toilet.

Downstairs comprised the spacious lounge area, kitchen, dining area, another toilet and access to the garage. The highlight for me was the fire place and there was plenty of firewood. The kitchen had lots utensils and really everything you need to cook whatever you want, it also had a dishwasher so no one needed to worry about the washing up.

There was also a tv, DVD player, games, cards, and plenty of books so you couldn't get bored even if you stayed in the chalet the whole time.

The village centre is close to the chalet and is easy to walk to. The village itself is really beautiful and would love to see it in Xmas in the snow - oh well guess I'll just have to visit again! There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants open even in the off season which is when we went.

The bus station is also in the centre if Megeve where you can travel to other close by towns. We chose to go to chamonix which is stunning and offers the opportunity to visit Mont Blanc.

All in all the best bit of the holiday for me was chilling out, sitting outside the chalet with a nice cold beer, eating bread and cheese whilst viewing the mountains all around you.

I would definitely recommend Megeve and this chalet to anyone!

After living in Paris we always dreamed of owning property in France and loved the French Alps. This is our dream holiday home and we hope our guests enjoy it as much as we do.

The famous ski resort of Megève, near Mont-Blanc in the French Alps, is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful resorts in the world.

The picturesque medieval town centre is pedestrianised, and frequented by horse-drawn sleighs.

There are 111 (70 platter lifts, 31 chairlifts and 10 gondola) lifts providing access to 219 slopes (34 blacks, 82 reds, 65 blues and 38 greens) totaling 445 km, along with 18 cross-country skiing trails totaling 95 km (59 miles).

In the summer Megève has plenty to offer - hiking, golf, paragliding, water sports, paint ball. The summer luge is great fun!

The town has many great restaurants and bars for a little relaxation.

There's plenty for the kids too - horse rides, adventure parks, swimming pool. Ours love it! The chalet backs onto meadows/hills which are great for sledding. Parents can just sit int he chalet and watch the kids have fun in the snow!
