Great location and host!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 loved this home. Fabrizio was a fantastic host - picked us up at the train station, gave us a tour of the apartment and left us a bottle of wine. The apartment was clean, well appointed and convenient to everything. We walked everywhere and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Florence and would love to return. Thank you Fabrizio!

Very nice apartment. Everything is clean and good working condition. Centrally located. No blankets, but we didn't really need them.

Ideal Location

  • 4 of 5

Fabrizio's apartment is a perfect location - one block from Piazza Santa Croce, located on a quiet street, and all of the Florence museums and cathedrals are within a few minutes' walk. I appreciated being a couple of blocks from the main tourist streets that can be packed with people. The best wood fired pizza I ever had is right around the corner at Pizzeria Caffe Italiano, and the Vivoli Gelateria a few steps away has the best gelato I ate in Florence! We bought coffee and some food from the tiny grocery store across the street from Vivoli.

The apartment was very clean. It has ececltic decor, comfortable but firm beds and pillows, and a spacious bathroom with a big shower and space for toiletries. The stairs to the loft bedroom are steep. The washer is very convenient! When it was extremely hot, we changed clothes a couple of times a day and were able to wash them every couple of days. The apartment had great internet access. We used the Italian expresso pot every day and cooked a couple of simple meals there.

Fabrizio was a very gracious host. He picked us up at the airport after a long trip and helped us get oriented a little. We stayed at his apartment at the beginning and end of our trip to Italy, and Fabrizio even stored some of our luggage when we were touring other parts of Italy by train - a HUGE favor for us! He also arranged for a taxi to the airport at 4:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning. He was very easy to communicate with and speaks excellent English. He immediately responded to all of my texts.

We stayed in Florence in the summer when it was very hot. The windows of the apartment do not have mosquito screens, so we kept the windows closed. The air conditioner is in the dining room, and with the layout of the apartment, the cool air doesn't easily reach the bedrooms, so even with fans it was pretty warm some nights.

Nice little place in the heart of old Florence

  • 4 of 5

Walking distance to everything right in the heart of Florence. Fabrizio was great. We have small kids, and while it worked. I wouldn't stay here again with our kids. I was constantly worried they'd break one of the nice collected decorations in the home or fall from the upstairs loft railings. There wasn't an area or space they could hang out in other than wooden stadium style chairs. But you don't go to Florence to hang out in a room all day. Other than that no complaints.

Outstanding Host, Charming Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Fabrizio was the best host ever! We missed our train and were unable to contact him due to phone issues. When we finally arrived in Florence, he was waiting for us at the train station with a luxury van that was big enough to fit our large party and all our luggage.

The apartment is wonderful. It's full of old world charm. The beds were comfortable with quality linens on them and the kitchen was well appointed.

Fabrizio offers tours also. He offered to take our party on a day trip to Cinque Terre. This was before we met him and I was nervous using him for this with no background information. Instead, we booked a tour through a big company. Boy, do I wish we had used Fabrizio! Instead of being crammed on a bus and shuffled through tourist trap locations, we could have ridden in comfort with a knowledgeable guide who's priority was our enjoyment, not a timetable.

The apartment is in a wonderful location. The nearby Piazza had a friendly, community vibe with people strolling around and live music playing. There's a fabulous restaurant literally in the same building on the ground floor and absolutely everything is within walking distance. If we are ever in Florence again, this would be my number one choice for accommodations.

Unique, interesting apartment in great location

  • 4 of 5

This apartment served well for our party of three adults. It's an interesting combination of old and new, eclectically decorated with a wide variety of flea market treasures, setting off the centuries-old architecture, yet equipped with the modern necessities. The central location near the Santa Croce Cathedral and Piazza was perfect, enabling us to comfortably walk to sites and restaurants at any time of day or night.

Beds were comfortable (although renters should be aware that the upstairs loft space is subject to noise from below, with no walls as a barrier, and stairs are steep getting up there); bathroom was serviceable; kitchen was barely used by us, with so many eating opportunities all around the neighborhood; and the dining area served well for end-of-the-evening gathering. It should be noted that the living room space is equipped with a partial row of old wooden theater seats, which is a fun decorative touch, but not really comfortable as a family hang-out space.

Several thoughtful and generous touches were included with this apartment - loaner electrical adapters for non-European visitors, books and sources of information tucked here and there, umbrellas at the ready, etc. These are the things that really make a vacation richer.

Fabrizio was easy to communicate with electronically and Rashi was there to welcome us right on time and walk us through the apartment.

We would heartily recommend this apartment to Florence visitors who want to be in the heart of history!

The property is perfectly located for visitors who want to discover the essence of Florence. Situated between Piazza della Signoria and Piazza Santa Croce, it is in the heart of Florence's historical centre. This area is full of local colour and is lively, even though the apartment is on a small quiet road. There are plenty of boutiques, bars and small, intimate restaurants in the area, as well as some of Florence's most noteworthy attractions
