Luxury in the Centre of Varenna!

Varenna\'s apartments or houses don\'t come in many better locations than this house. This newly refurbished town house is located in the centre of the old town only 30m from the lake front.

Varenna has some of the best small restaurants, trattoria\'s & pizzerias on the Lake, most of which are found in these rustic cobbled streets dating back to Roman times and only a minutes’ walk away. This house is also 100m from the main square and only a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal, following the lake side path.

Anybody who knows Varenna, will appreciate the combination of charm and town accessibility, via road, ferry and the railway station. This allows those who do not wish to hire a car, to arrive by boat or train. Without a car however, the need to stay central is greatly increased, as Lake Como is surrounded by steep hillsides. Most facilities are located in the small towns around the lake\'s edge and the majority of accommodation spread across the mountain sides.

The town of Varenna is an attractive mix of old town houses and apartments, many with adjoining street balconies and joint street access. This townhouse however, is modestly different in that it has its own front door, the property is spread over 3 floors and has a roof terrace with views of the lake and a good degree of privacy.

We believe from a location and privacy perspective this town house is ideally suited to travellers of all natures. Cars can be parked in the town square 100m away, but this house is only a 10 minute walk from the railway station and a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal to the centre of Varenna. Add to this, the perfect location for restaurants or bars and studying the local history on foot, then we believe the location cannot be bettered.

Varenna is not only a favourite honeymoon destination but also a popular place to get married and Villa Cipressi, the Hotel Victoria, Albergo Milano and Hotel du Lac accommodate many guests with several involved in hosting wedding ceremonies. In addition, the famous Villa Monastero is also popular for conferences and international events with the splendid gardens open to the public between March - Nov. All these hotels and villas are literally 2-5 minutes way on foot and avoid the need for taxis or cars. Vacation rentals do of course offer a much more relaxed approach to preparing for these events and being able to follow your own agenda.

We have ensured that a perfect location is also supported by wonderful interior facilities and furnishings. The townhouse is approx. 115msq and is neatly arranged over 3 floors. Through the entrance hall on the ground floor, a warm & welcoming living room beacons with soft, nutmeg brown leather sofas, walnut wood furniture, ornate marble fireplace and a sophisticated, stylish kitchen & breakfast bar. Entertainment is fully catered for by way of a 32" Plasma TV with English Satellite channels & DVD Blu-Ray Player.

The master bedroom and en-suite shower room are on the first floor together with a second shower room next to the spiral staircase leading up to the loft bedroom & roof terrace on the third floor.

The master bedroom is furnished with distressed \'Oyster\' painted king-size bed, 3 door wardrobe, large set of drawers and bedside tables. A comfortable night’s sleep will be guaranteed with the an exceptionally high quality \'Vi-Spring\' mattress.

The loft bedroom (only air conditioned area) is furnished with 3 single beds and luxury Vi-Spring mattresses. There is a free standing walnut mirror & clothes stand, set of walnut drawers & 2 bedside tables plus a 32" Plasma TV, DVD player and Xbox with games.

Out on the sunny roof terrace, there is a table and set of 5 chairs. A real sun-trap and great with a morning coffee or glass of wine on a blissful starry night!

Skiing in the area is bountiful with resorts such as Madesimo 1.15 hours to the north and the local ski resorts of Piani di Bobbio & Pien della Betulla, only 40 - 50 minutes away. For an exciting day trip any time of year, why not go on the beautiful drive, through the Alps, to the international jet-set resort of St. Moritz, only 1.5 hours by car.

Believe it or not and crazy as it sounds, you can also catch a train from Varenna to Venice & be back in the evening on the same day!

Travelling by train is so easy & cheap in Italy. Take a day trip to Milan - see the incredible cathedral, Leonardo\'s \'The Last Supper\' or shop in the famous \'Galleria di Vittorio Emanuele\' or the chic \'Quadrilatero\' - the area of four streets which offer the very best fashion boutiques, antique shops and jewellers, the Mecca of designer shops! Only an hour away by train from Varenna.

Case Varenna is in a great location! Of course, it is difficult to not be in a great location in Varenna since the town is small and very manageable. We enjoyed the restaurants, hiking and easy access to the ferry to tour other towns around Lake Como area.

Perfect Location in the Perfect town of Varenna

Just got back from our week stay at Casa Verenna. I would highly recommend this property for its location and facilities. The property is well kept and has everything you could possible want except NO CLOTHES DRYER; and the TV on the main level would not connect to the satellite. So, we only listened to Italian music and Italian TV stations, which was fine. The property mgmt came over to try to remedy the TV situation; but couldn't. Wonderful property. The towels provided are 5 bath and 5 hand towels (one for each person that the property could accommodate in the property). This wasn't a problem because we were only 2 travelers. There was a welcome bottle of prosecco with 2 containers of milk and a bag of biscuits. Just be aware that only toilet paper is provided. The winding staircase could be a challenge for elders and small children. We loved the location and after traveling all over Lake Como; we were very happy with Veranna being our home base . The ferry that takes you all over the lake is only a 5 minute walk from the property. Also be aware that Lake Come (as well as Veranna) have several steps up and down the streets which make make it a little more challenging for strollers or people with health issues.

Golf:

The world famous Menaggio and Cadenabblia Golf Club is positioned on the hillside above Menaggio which is only a 15 min ferry ride across the lake. We recommend the Club House restaurant - absolutely delicious!

The Menaggio & Cadenabbia Golf Club is Italy's oldest golf course. Established in 1907 with 18 holes Par 70, it is located above Menaggio near Croce, in Grandola ed Uniti, approx. 20 min. by car. Green Fees: Weekdays €55, Weekends and Holidays €70 Euros; Golf Cart Rental €36.

Restaurant Golf at the club serves fantastic food and is well recommended.. Guests are always welcome, please call Golf Club Menaggio beforehand to check course rules.

Ski:
