About the property

3 Bedroom, 2.5 Bathroom, 7 Sleeps

Marloth is a spacious 210m2 double-storey thatched house in the Marloth Park Conservancy and holiday village in Mpumalanga, South Africa, where wild animals roam freely around the houses.

Marloth has 2 bedrooms with double beds on the ground floor and 1 open plan room with a queen size bed on the first floor and a three quarter bed in the upper lounge. There is a bathroom downstairs with a bath and shower and separate toilet. On the top floor is a separate toilet and an outside shower.

There is a spacious lounge and dining area above and an open plan kitchen lounge and dining area below.

The kitchen is fully equipped for all your holiday needs. The sitting area above has comfortable seating and is equipped with a television with DSTV access. A washing machine is also at your disposal.

There are wooden decks around the house on the upper floor where guests can relax, watch the wildlife and over 300 different species of birds in the area, feed the bush babies and enjoy the wonderful nature and beautiful sunsets.

Downstairs is a nice big patio with a table, comfortable sofa and chairs. It also has a deck with a splash pool and barbecue area.

The animals visit regularly so take care that you have enough treats to feed them. Our bush babies love yogurt and bananas. They will early in the evening let you know that they are waiting for their food.

Linen and towels are provided.

About Owner/Property Manager

I'm a retired Civil Engineer. Decided to take an early retirement and enjoy my favourite place on earth.... Marloth Park. I'm also an Honorary ranger in the Kruger National Park. Nature and Conservation are very important to me. To stay in such a beautiful place among all the animals is a privilege which I love to share with my family, friends and other people. That's one reason why I've decided to make my house available to other people.

Owner's Response: Johan and his family were great guests! I’d be glad to host them again anytime. They took great care of my place, left it clean and tidy, and was a pleasure to speak with. Highly recommended!’

Marloth Park is located between Malelane and Komatipoort on the southern border of the Kruger National Park (about 470 km from Johannesburg). Marloth has its own wildlife. Wildlife is not restricted by fences and move freely between the units that have been built on 1,500 ha.

Marloth Park also has its own game reserve, Lionspruit, where you get 4 of the big 5: Rhino, Buffalo, Lions and Leopards. With the dangerous animals fenced in, you can go for a walk along the river or mountain biking on dirt roads. The Crocodile River forms the border between Marloth and the Kruger National Park. You can take a drive and view the animals along the Crocodile River border. A lookout point on the banks of the Crocodile River overlooking the Kruger National Park offers a fabulous view of the river and the river's animals and vegetation.

Two entrance gates can be used to the Kruger National Park. Crocodile Bridge gate 23km and 40km Malelane Gate. Komatipoort, Hectorspruit and Malelane are in a radius of 40km from Marloth Park. Marloth Park is 424km from OR Tambo Airport.
