Casa Limone consists of a kitchen with Sat-TV, a bathroom with shower, bidet and toilet, a living room with a dining table, a sofa bed and sea view, and a twin room (possibility double bed). On the upper floor is a passing room with a sofa bed and a double room with sea view. This bedroom and the living room have both a big panoramic terrace with table, seating, deckchairs and barbeque. Indoor and outdoor living combine seamlessly due to the bright rooms and their communication with the terraces.

Casale Mare Praiola

A rural road brings you to this country-house, proudly surveying its lemon grove from its stunning and perfectly peaceful setting on the coast. A private path leads directly to the beach of Praiola (50 meter).

The country house is separated in two independent apartments: Casa Limone e Casa Mandarino. Both apartments have their own terrace with privacy. Casa Limone has unique views from its two big terraces. Mandarino has a smaller terrace and less views.

Perfect Views - wake up to the sound of the sea amongst the lemon groves

We have just returned from a wonderful ten days in Casa Limone - falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the sea is a truly revitalising experience. The house is well furnished and with all the amenities you would want - if you want luxury living, this is not for you, but the house has loads of character and the owners keep it in good shape.

Whilst it sleeps rather more, we were glad to have taken the larger property even though it was just the two of us. The two terraces are great to sit and eat and read on. There is a little lane down to the beach, which is pebbly and thus the water is wonderfully clear. It is easy to find your own little spot of beach, as there are no easy roads down to it.

The property is off the beaten track; there are other houses nearby, but very little disturbance. The final track to the property takes you through a lemon grove and in the evening the smell of the lemons is heady.

Casa Limone is well-located for visiting both coastal and inland villages and towns - Etna is an easy drive away, as is the wonderfully urbane Taormina. We had a wonderful holiday and highly recommend the property for getting away from it all.

Nice house, but not what we were expecting

The hosts were very pleasant and helpful. They met us and explained everything about the property. The property says it's a country house, but we were surprised by a few things. First, the directions say you take a country road. This is a very narrow dirt lane suitable for farm tractors, not cars. Then, when you arrive at the house, you are expecting the house in the pictured on the website, but this is the view from Casa Limone, not the actual house. Next, if I'm staying in a country house, I was not expecting to have the neighboring house 10 feet away. It was very loud, we could hear people through the windows in all parts of the house as we were trying to sleep. On the positive side we could also hear the waves against the rocks. There is not potable water on the property. The hosts do a great job of supplying bottles of water, but it's still not convenient. The location of the house is nice. You can walk to the rocky beach or drive to a sandy beach 15 minutes away. It was very convenient for exploring Mount Etna and kayaking in the North Sea. Lastly, the house was comfortable, but not what we were expecting.

Tolles Haus mit super Aussicht!!!

Wir haben die Zeit dort sehr genossen. Frühstück auf der Terasse mit Meerblick und abends lange dem Meeresrauschen lauschen.

Von dort aus kann man Catania, Taormina und andere interessante Orte mit dem Auto gut erreichen.

Der Hausverwalter Rosario und seine Frau sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Vielen Dank, wir kommen bestimmt mal wieder!!!

Praiola is an excellent base from which to explore eastern Sicily. The place lies halfway between Catania and Taormina and just 7 kilometres from Acireale (a pretty little city, built on a plateau of lava, that is known for its Baroque churches).

Giardini Naxos, a seaside resort with beautiful sandy beaches, is just 20 kilometres from Praiola. Next to is is Taormina, ‘the pearl of the Mediterranean’, with the most exclusive seaside resort in Sicily. Its ancient Greek theatre is world famous for its stunning views.

Santa Maria la Scala and Aci Trezza are pleasant seaside villages near Praiola. In the village Santa Tecla, a few kilometres from Praiola, is the renown, but quiet cheap, fish restaurant “Da Lorenzo”. 2 km from the house is Carruba, a town, with a few shops and a square.
