Quiet, beautiful cabin, no one in sight! On the side/almost top of a mountain. The owners went above and beyond the norm hospitality.

One of the best secluded, most relaxing Mountain spots!

  • 5 of 5

This property is like the one you don't want to share/tell anyone else about. Absolutely breathtaking scenery. The cabin is well kept and so clean. Enjoyed having lots of space to walk, practice with my camera, reflects on life, work on projects etc. We saw 4 deer and a fox within 2 hours of arriving. Over the course of the weekend we saw another fox, a groundhog trying to get into the vineyard and several birds. The owners are such absolute sweethearts. Enjoyed all the special touches and personalized note! Can't wait to return - we have already decided this will be so peaceful to visit again as the leaves change color or into the winter.

Outstanding rental and hosts, with great area attractions nearby

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is quiet, peaceful, private and secluded. The hosts (Melissa and Phyllis) are very kind, personable and accomodating. The cabin is impecably well equipped with all you could possibly need, with great attention to detail. The hosts graciously supplied spaghetti dinner for the first nights arrival, and breakfast goodies for the next day (milk, fresh eggs from thier hens, cereal, granola, english muffins, fruit, butter n jam, coffee and OJ). These ladies do not skimp on hospitality!! This rental went above and beyond, and exceeded all our expectations! It deserves a 5+ star rating. The grounds are lovingly cared for with amazing trails, and views. Your dogs will love this place! It is about 25 - 30 minutes from downtown Roanoke where there's an amazing market area on the weekend, and numerous craft breweries, restaurants, hiking trails and the parkway. The town of Bedford is an easy 20 - 25 minutes away to see the DDay Memorial, and Peaks of Otter winery. It will take 20 - 25 minutes to get to a grocery store, but the quiet and peace this place provides is well worth it. If you want to unplug and relax this place is amazing. With my wifi card i had no issues getting service, and my verizon cell service worked well too. There is no TV service, but you can bring DVDs to watch movies. We did and it was fine! We really weren't inside much! If you like music id bring a small music player for your IPOD. Quiet honestly, we didn't even miss the TV. We enjoyed sitting on the covered porch, looking over the vineyard, spending quality time together and just relaxing. This trip got us out of the rat race and stressful jobs, and allowed us to rejuevenate! It was perfect. The bed is very comfortable and will provide a great nights rest. This place is amazing, and you will not regret renting this cabin. We will definitely be back. Thank you Melissa and Phyllis for your impeccable hospitality, and for sharing this amazing cabin with us. This is truly a must rent and a diamond in the rough!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the nice review! Also appreciate the valuable feedback regarding TV reception, and want to let you know that we now have satellite service at the cabin should the weather keep folks inside. Look forward to having you return in the near future!

Perfect cabin! Perfect hosts!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was lovely and the space was perfect for two humans and two pups. Melissa and Phyllis left us supplies for a spaghetti dinner and lots of goodies for breakfast the next morning. That was a sweet surprise! The property was fun to explore and there is plenty of hiking and things to do in the area. It is far enough from everything to feel like a mountain getaway but close enough to area attractions should you want to visit local sites. As others have mentioned cellular connection is poor, there is no WiFi, and limited television channels. This was no problem for us as we were staying in the area for a wedding weekend and were out and about quite a bit. However, I would highly recommend bringing some DVD's and games with you for down time. We enjoyed our time here very much and cannot wait to return in the future.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for staying with us and being the perfect guests! One of these days we hope that WIFI will be available in the cabin, but for now we're glad that so many guests seem to appreciate the peace and quiet. This is a good place to kick back and simply read a book, walk, or take in the view, but we know that WIFI would be an added benefit.
