About the property

Welcome to our traditional adobe vacation home located in the foothills just ten minutes from downtown Santa Fe. Enjoy serenity and expansive mountain vistas, as well as easy access to Santa Fe, the Opera, Tesuque Flea Market, Bandolier National Monument and Taos from this mountain refuge. Have your coffee year round on the sun-kissed patio, then relax by the pool (May to October) with mountain views, partake of the 5-star spa and restaurant (Auberge Encantado Resort and Spa) across the street, hike on National Forest Land or ride effortlessly to Santa Fe and myriad natural and cultural northern New Mexico attractions. Easy driving distance to both Taos and Santa Fe Ski Basin.

This private, light-filled 2-bedroom, 2-bath casita is your launching pad for everything Northern New Mexico offers. The traditional adobe condo is located in the exclusive and private community of 60-acre Pueblo Encantado in Tesuque, New Mexico. Situated in the hills of the Sangre de Cristo and Jemez Mountain ranges adjacent to Tesuque Indian Tribal land, your home away from home offers unobstructed sunrises over the mountains and inimitable starry skies. Easy access to I-25 allows easy day trips to Georgia O’Keefe’s home in Abiquiu, fascinating Taos Pueblo, unparalleled skiing on Taos Mountain, and art, scenery, history and fabulous food on the beautiful “High Road to Taos.” A five-minute walk from the condo takes you to a hiking/jogging trail in the Sante Fe National Forest with magnificent sunset views. Finish the hike with a cocktail, sunset and dinner on the famous patio at Auberge or grill on your own patio at the condo. From horsebacking riding, trout fishing, hot springs, world-class museums and unique shopping and dining—Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico has it all.

The condo comfortably sleeps four in the two well-appointed bedrooms, each with private bath. A pull-out couch in the living room offers additional sleeping space for two or three. Kiva fireplaces grace both the master bedroom (with private entrance) and living room. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide beautiful views of Sangre de Christo mountains.

Amenities include air-conditioning, WiFi in every room, an outdoor barbecue, and a pool and patio area for use during warmer weather.

Wonderful townhome property & surrounding area.

  • 4 of 5

My son and I visited in July and found the property to be very comfortable. It is set in a lovely area just north of Santa Fe. Good Wi-Fi and amenities. The owners are the nicest people and very easy to work with - good communicators and fast. Just 1 exit from the Santa Fe Opera. Easy access to all of the restaurants (try Wecks for breakfast and Tomasito's for New Mexican cuisine - too many more to mention), grocery stores, museums, and wonderful places to hike such as Bandolier Monument, Tent Rocks, and Valle Caldera National Preserve.

property review

  • 5 of 5

The condo worked well for two couples - very comfortable and roomy. The property was clean, and the owner very helpful with suggestions. Property actually in village of Tesuque, about a 10 minute ride into Santa Fe. When do we get our security deposit back?

Owner's Response: The delay was my fault. I was supposed to manually return the security deposit and I was under the impression that it was automatically credited back to the renter after 10 days. The error has been corrected and the renter has received her credit. Our apologies.

Quiet Hacienda in the Hills

  • 4 of 5

A peaceful, quiet hide-away in the hills. Twenty minutes from anything in Santa Fe, but far enough up in the hills to feel really secluded. Beautiful setting, nicely maintained exterior, dated but clean interior.

Perfect Spring Break

  • 5 of 5

Spent 5 days in Tesuque, NM located on the foothills of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Absolutely beautiful for Spring Break. Very quiet and peaceful. Accommodated 5 easily. It was equipped with most necessities. Not your top kitchen utensils but who cares. Water heater could be bigger since it empties after 2 uses. Beautiful fireplace with ample would to burn. We didn't get to experience any active snow. I would definitely rent again. Maybe Winter next time.

Needs renovations badly

  • 2 of 5

This is a lovely unit in a lovely complex. Unfortunately the owners are not keeping it up. A broken dishwasher, a broken air conditioner (only one room even has air conditioning), no fans, a window in the second bedroom that we couldn't open. When I called the owner to tell him about the broken air conditioner he told me to call the caretaker, but she never called back.

Owner's Response: In response to the review that claimed we do not take care of our unit and that several items were not working, I would like those interested in renting our unit to know that we review the condition of the unit after each renter has left to ensure that all components are in good working order. If we are informed that something needs to be replaced or repaired we arrange for the work to be done immediately. If something breaks while a tenant is occupying the unit we try to accommodate the tenant as best we can. This year we have had more than 15 different renters and had no complaints. In fact a number of renters have called me upon leaving the unit to tell us that they had a wonderful experience and would like to reserve for next year. We have owned our unit for over 15 years and take pride in keeping it in excellent condition. Those of us that deal with the public realize you can't please everyone all the time . We certainly endeavor to make every renter's experience a positive one. We spend time every year at our unit and use the time we are there to review what improvements should be planned for the upcoming year. We intend to retire to our unit in the next several years and because of this plan we are very mindful of keeping our place as attractive as possible. We are sorry that on the rare occasion a renter is not completely happy. We certainly make every effort to provide a first class experience.

great Christmas trip

  • 4 of 5

My daughters and I spent a wonderful week at Christmas in this roomy, big windows get-away. It is close enough to Santa Fe to easily get to the Plaza and Canyon Road for Christmas Eve but far enough away to have a fabulous view of the mountains. The rooms are big and spacious and the 2 bedrooms/2 baths worked great for us.
